You're definitely right, and that's a good solution--the back part could slide into the pants to take up any slack on the straps. Tifa kind of has that in how you can pull in her straps beneath her skirt. There's usually a lot of individual engineering solutions on each modern PAK, so I feel like they just took the easy way out with this one.
..actually, the back part has the sliding design, just like Tifa's, but like also Tifa's, that I just realized, the shoulder strap is attached on her upper body, and just relies on the hanging strap, while if you do that on Tidus front part,it wouldn't work coz of his front strap design ended on his corset. It should be freely loose on the shoulders and be permanently attached on the front and back corset.
Are you planning to make it permanent? I hope not, because unless you find a way to remove the default strap, create a proper mold of those cross pieces, and improve the low-quality insignia or symbol on the back, it will look worse. The current design is already perfect, and you can make it appear connected if you really try. Making it look more realistic could cause it to appear saggy in some poses unless you use a stretchable material like elastic to keep it tight.
..aside from the price, it's a heavy mod if I wanted it to have that strap, so I'm still on the fence for it..usually I'd do is to make the parts removable, but can be inserted again if I want to replace it back..so I need to make a shirt of it first, and replace the one on him, and see if it looks okay..if so, then I'm going for it the whole way, carving the arms for accessory parts, finding ways to insert the sleeves part of the shirt on his arms, and maybe replace the corset and skirt for a fabric one also..maybe I need a bootleg for this one to experiment on..
I cancelled my pre order after seeing ur video. I own the original pak tidus i thought this was going to be an improvement butthanks for saving me some money. I cancelled yuna too as more than likely she will not be a big inprovement over the orignal which i also own.
..I can feel you bro, as you're weighing the redundant figure while looking at the cost..but I can tell you, it's definitely an improvement from the previous one, proportions alone, I'm sold on this one, and I haven't had a Tidus figure before so it's like an opportunity for me..but most of all, the brotherhood blade, which has now the bubbles sold it for me..
..damn, so sorry for that one, but I stopped on Luffy because I can't find the right colored fabric on him..actually, I have many customed figs to be reviewed, but don't really have the time for it, cause I have daytime work..I will find time for those reviews..thanks again for the reminders!
