Watch endless ocean become a $100-$200 switch game in 5-10 years cause there were no physical copies and nobody gave a shit to buy them
I mean.... look at xenoblade 2 or 3 right NOW.
forget Mario 3d 35 all stars
@@Matanumi Super Mario 35 was a limited-time digital-only thing before I had a Switch :( But yeah, 3D All-Stars physical copies would fetch a pretty penny now. Glad I grabbed one while they were still available.
I mean, people will pay anything for anything…
Celia needs her copy she earned it fair and square 😤😂
Our walmart didn't have or got this game.
This game is basically Pokemon Snap, but with marine life instead of Pokemon and not on rails.
So therefore it wont sell as well as new Pokemon snap did.... cause its not a brand name
Exactly
This is def developed by ppl who wish they grew up w this type of game but couldnt or didnt want to outline specific objectives.
"Barely a game".
*looks* --Endless ocean.
Yeah that's Endless ocean all right. Always has been.
I actually love these type of games because you can play these games for hours since they feel like they never end and you can easily put on music, podcast, audiobook or youtube videos and zen out.
Its all about the weird games , well sometimes. The reason I got this one was because I've always been into the ocean stuff. This is like one of those chill type of games.
Sorry about the whole audience thing, but those of us who aren't in to cozy games and aren't complete are glad to have you covering these non-cozy games.
I agree it seems like a nice place. I just don't like cozy games.
Three Hopes exists because it's a Musou game from Omega Force who started branching out from Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi years ago.
They seem pretty popular, I love them.
I posted two fairly unorganized but lengthy thoughts/impressions on Discord about my experience with this game, and I don't even really remember if I played the original Endless Ocean games on Wii... this is not a game but more of an interactive experience. No frills, no pressure exploration of the sea encountering various aquatic life, you can learn about them or not... go thru a "story" mode, but honestly I just chill down in the ocean where I am actually afraid of but thru this game, makes it more manageable.. and I think this is why I am drawn to games like this and Subnautica... to expose myself to an environment that scares me to simultaneously relax in and also challenge myself. I think most people will not like this game, and the scores have proven that, but I don't care... I am still playing it since launch... mainly in shared online dives with people. I don't think I've ever had more than maybe 5-8 players on average in my shared diving experiences... the game is too niche to have a big turn out to fill a 30 player dive unless you manually made a Dive-ID to share with your friends.
That was definitely that Gamestop guy's way of flirting with you. Don't know his age, don't know his relationship status, doesn't matter. Flirting.
You know what? I like it. It’s a quiet, relaxing game. I prefer playing it in groups because the challenges are quicker to finish. I treat this game as a fish collect-a-thon. I’ll stop playing when I’ve 100% it and call it good fun.
I remember when an employee spent like ten minutes trying to persuade me from not buying Captain toad treasure tracker for 3DS and Switch..... He kept saying to just get the Switch version and not both, And I was having to explain that I'm a Nintendo collector and nothing will change my mind!
This Game looks very Rare.
Excuse me while I pull out my THING and scan some fish 😂
10:15 the one moment when GameStop actually cared about the consumers 😂
Please promote the podcast more. I think more people should listen as it’s different than the spawncast.
With 30 people it’s seems like it was almost built specifically for classrooms. I’m not sure if schools have the budget for 30 switch consoles though
Was tempted to buy it on sale but my game shop (Smyths) is no longer ordering copies and they are sold out in Ireland.
EDIT: Amazon have copies. I ordered it there.
This feels like a pop in and play 15-25 mini type of game. I prefer to get those digital
What's nice about endless ocean is there is NO Violence. It's just observing fish. You learn and get to experience the ocean. The other games have killing. Not everygame has to have killing.
been watching your channel for a little bit now and your consistency is really inspiring. i've really been enjoying your stuff and know you're gonna go far! keep up the great work, i'm there for all of your high quality work!
7:05
I actually wrote a concept game of an MMO Zelda but based on wind walkers time so a massive ocean with 30 players live....
It's a relaxing game to play. Imo.
Hey got your video on a whim…like your stuff! Trying to find new people to watch about gaming and you seem cool and charming. Look forward to seeing more from you.
I can’t wait to play this. The sea calms me down so much. I can’t wait to explore and see the different fish. PADI and OceanX will probably love this and use it to introduce sea life and diving to children. 🐟🌊
I wasn't even sure if this was even a Nintendo game to begin with.
Interesting. I wonder how accurate the fish scaling and distributions are.
This game would be crazy good if it had base building, a ship and/or cool sci-fi underwater vehicles and gadgets. Even if there was no combat or danger with those other things it wouldn't be so dry. It's good but dry (for a game that takes place in the ocean 😏).
Hmm, I wonder if it was a tech demo or proof of concept, i.e. the multi-player part, that they decided make a full game out of to make some money back?
The old GM at the GameStop in my area prevented me from buying Portal 2 lol. I took his advice but I am always thinking about buying it in the future just to spite him. Real good dude though.
DLC should be spearfishing :-)
That would be cool😁
I remember I played the original on the Wii at my grandmas house. It was always a very niche game. I remember the controls being janky. Though that may of been 8 year old me not knowing how to use the controls which is probably the reason. I think the main progression in the one I played was unlocking more vehicle on your ship. Like you had to scan x amount of fish to unlock the jet ski. I never really expected anything to big from this game. It is just a very chill game where you look at fish
It's Subnautica, but without Subnautica
Good honest review, appreciate you.
So its a 9/10 then
Josie, do you have any Labo Kits? Some of them are actually really fun, especially the fishing one!
Just like that other game, I think it's called "Fly" you're a bird. You simply fly around, maybe find some secrets and that's about it. You might see other players flying around.
Endless Ocean was always pretty niche. I have the previous games on Wii. It always had simple gameplay, consisting of exploration and scanning species. It which was a rare title from Nintendo that gave you MP3 playback. Excitetruck was another they released with that feature. If anyone expected Subnautica, they are setting themselves up for disappointment. It was never that type of game to begin with.
This reminds me of a very simple knockoff of pokemon snap. Just with marine life.
F the haters. Keep doing you.
From what I’ve been told if it’s not a big or popular game gamestop is only going to order a few or how many pre orders they’ve gotten for the game
You know I like fish and I like cozy games...but I think that is still a bit too 'cozy' for me. If they let you like customize and maybe build an underwater lab - then maybe but swim around and go fish watching - nah.
From what I’ve gathered it’s not got a patch on the games that came before it. To me, this seems like yet another sloppy, unfinished, content-lacking Nintendo release, to go along with all the sports games of this generation as well.
It was as much of a game as hey you pickachu for the Nintendo 64. That one had a lot of potential too.
You should put on a very insulated beanie too!!! Like one of those ones say wear in Russia ... ... ... . . .
I haven't opened my copy of it yet, but I'm gonna play it this weekend while you are streaming😎
You bought it?
Ludwig lmao
Love to see that dude speed run DKC2 if its so easy 🤣
I actually want it
Old man. 😂
maybe if it was 10 bucks 😆
Did you own a ds?
It's a simulator Simulator
....in the ocean!
I bought it to fall asleep it helps i get tired when i play this game
i don’t think i can properly articulate my thoughts in a comment but even as an avid endless ocean fan this game felt very bland especially compared to the first 2. so many cut features, no soul, non existent story. very disappointing after dreaming of an EO3 for years.
this video game is super hot trash. loved the video, jo! thanks for putting it out and letting players know what's up.
Not my jam but it seems to have a lot of nostalgia for folks when it was announced. Saw a lot of "oh they're bringing this back? Let's go" type reactions. But yeah, it's nice Nintendo is giving these types love.
Just go to an Aquarium you'll have more fun 😂 but this is more for someone who is like in to them slow games that don't have much to them that are simple. Not my type of game but some people will like it and that's fine. 🙂
“This game isn’t bad at all” the game is a 60 metacritic game lol it’s bad… Nintendo’s latest first party games have been pretty bad because princess peach got a 72 metacritic score which for a $60 game is bad.
What a sane, non-bias take, Playstation4King with the PS logo as an avatar.
@@AmoralTom I’m literately stating facts lol Endless ocean is a 60 metacritic game and Princess Peach is a 72 metacritic. If that’s the type of quality that you want from Nintendo’s first party then you do you…
But is a game a "bad game" if it only appeals to a select group of people? I'd argue no. Metacritic isn't the arbiter of good or bad, it's just a review aggregation site. But if you live your life judging things based on a metacritic score, you do you 🤷♂️
Seems like the vibes are missing 😅
No Eldridge undersea horror dlc?
*eldritch
3:42 do your best to ignore the hate some random people feel the need to spread in comments, Josie...that crap says a lot more about them than anything true about you 👍
R u Cold under an endless Ocean 🪸🌊
Now? It's may 17th and it's the United States not north pole or South pole?
looks boring
It's fine but looks poor for what it's trying to do.
I think the switch wasn't the right place for this game- should've been a PC game
@@Matanumi prob boring on PC too no amount of graphic resolution would help that
simple the game sucks
Sorry you get rude comments from immature kids sometimes, Josie. So, when the GameStop employee wouldn’t stop trying to dissuade you from getting the game, why didn’t you just tell him you’re a gaming TH-camr and wanted to review it for content? That’s one thing I have trouble understanding lol.
Um nintendo is totally known for being bland...just play there sports games
My most disappointing Switch game. I loved Endless Ocean on the Wii and Luminous just feels like a lifeless, soulless AI sequel.
I haven't played the original but I LOVED Blue World! The music was beautiful, and it was a very atmospheric game. The mystery of Oceana's dad and the Song of Dragons was the most interesting part of the game for me. Does Luminous have an interesting story or mystery that you're trying to solve?
It's becoming increasingly common to blame AI whenever we dislike a piece of modern media. This trope is relatively new but already feels overused. We humans have always been capable of creating uninspired works, whether they're digital or not.
We've seen plenty of bland and uninteresting games released in the past, so it's lazy to attribute these issues to AI. Human creativity has often been lacking, with or without digital assistance. Congratulations on jumping onto the bandwagon.
You seriously need to check your volume control. Stop talking so quickly can hardly understand you.
