I think people interpret it too simply and literally as "The Young Girl and the Old Man", but its meaning is much more than that... In my opinion and that of many fans, is that she in the video talks about her old love, because she is dead, and that’s why the guy "remembers" her and still sees her young. In the song it says: "He prays for love, he prays for peace And maybe someone new" "Cause you are unfixable I can’t break through your world" Because he in spite of all the years passed can’t forget her... So in the scene when Lana is swimming (Min 5:52), he performs the blessing or the sign of the cross, as if seeing a "ghost"... and Lana in the video appears as a very "ethereal" presence 👻🖤📿
im pretty sure she had problems with her father when younger, as she mentioned how he never stepped in when she had issues with her mom so maybe she felt neglected, i mean, her mother did so many awful things and they kept on happening it didnt rlly seem like he did much to stop it so yeah their relationship is restored but i dont think it was great at first either
i may be a little late. and if it was only 5 years ago i would agree with you. "i want to stay young forever" but there comes a shift quite suddenly. at least it did for me. and now aging doesnt sound so bad. as long as i keep a young spirit ^_^
