  • Along with a WordPress site, and a store-themed-template, WooCommerce does all the heavy lifting in turning your website into an online store. WooCommerce has ways to input product data, sell products, manage your inventory, handle shipments, handle refunds, and much more. Think of WooCommerce as kind of a Swiss Army Knife for online retailing.
Like any store, your online store needs products. You might stock products in a storage area, or you might carry no inventory at all and order products directly from a vendor when a customer order is placed. In either case, you need to get your products represented on your website. If you have only a few items, you can use a supplied data-entry form found in "WooCommerce-Products-New Products" located in your WordPress Admin Panel, enter data for one item at a time. If you are planning on placing a lot of items on your website then you will need to know how to bulk upload products to WooCommerce.
In this video on How To Bulk Upload Products To WooCommerce, you will learn how to: prepare your images, upload the images, format a spreadsheet for product data, enter product data on a spreadsheet, save the spreadsheet as text, upload the product data to your site's database, how to adjust entries in the database, set up sales, and more. When you bulk upload products to WooCommerce, you are using the same process as the "BIG" retailers.
Things I promised from the video "How To Bulk Upload Products To WooCommerce:
Script location to run from Photoshop to resize images (location is from Photoshop CS-5): File - Scripts - Image Processor.
Location of spreadsheet schema for bulk uploading product to WooCommerce:
    github.com/woocommerce/woocom...
Disclaimer: In this video, I mention two products, (Adobe) Photoshop and (Automatic) WooCommerce. I neither requested nor did I receive any promotional consideration, monetary or otherwise.

This was great. We need more tutorials like this. Practical & business-focused. Many fancy woocommerce tutorials out there right now, but most of them are just reviewing plugins & themes for that affiliate money or build a new shop with just a dozen products. Very few of them do what you've done here : Explain and show the real-life, day-to-day needs for a Woocommerce Administrator. Bulk edits, vendor images etc. are crucial for a website with hundreds or thousands of products. This was probably a "quarantine upload" but I hope that you'll continue making these for real-life Woocommerce problems that you've encountered and ways to solve them. Stock levels, erp's maybe? Dunno.

Thanks for the compliments. Actually, this was not a "quarantine upload". I have had a blog for 12 years and decided to duplicate when possible, my blog posts as videos on you tube. That's why I created the channel. For the last 4 months I have been working on a project, and have produced nothing for the blog or my TH-cam channel, until this week. My new article is posted on the blog, and I am editing the video tomorrow. Thanks again.

Great tutorial. Should you only import new products or can you import new and old products? Will you get a bunch of copies of the same products or will the old products just get overwritten?

It depends on the vendor. Typically, when I update a line, I run the original install spreadsheet with the visibility options turned off for each item, this pretty much eliminates old products, re-links current products, and adds new products. Hope this helps.

@@larrytalkstech4222 it kinda makes sense. That would be an awesome video. If you could make one that shows those steps.

Did you find out how to do this?

Sorry for the long wait on the answer. I just completed a long project. I would create a special page for the product, list the variants, or maybe just present the variant categories, provide a price range, and instruct the customer to "call for a quote". Use a photograph for each category of variant. If the variants aren't categorized, create the categories yourself. A drop down box with three thousand variants, - whose going to go through that??? With that many variations, you are really talking about a "special order" or "built-to-order" product. I would think your customer for this product would be used to calling for a quote. Hope this helps.
