Love the inspiration but truly appreciate the value of information and aesthetic of how you edit your videos. Seeing the cohesiveness of the last set confirms my idea of mixing tablescapes so it’s not repetitive and budget friendly. Going to do the mix of two out of the three options. First option with a focal flower centerpiece and the second option with buds. Our issue is not to mash up everything and focus on what really is our own aesthetic. 😄
Yes to mixing tablescapes! It creates a lot of visual dynamic interest and keeps your photos from looking too much like a sea of repetition. It'll be great!!
Fun, that so many styles are shown! Loved so many, that it is a good thing, that I have my own small venue. Can live this out, while decorating for others. I'm blessed ;)
LOVED this video! I just finalized my linen colors and was so inspired by your wedding tables and how fun and playful they were. It's exciting to see examples that aren't just the standard white linens since color is more reflective of my style and my future husband's as well!
Beautiful tablescapes. My favourite is the one from your wedding: authentic and beautiful color palette 🥰 and your wedding dress was stunning 👌🏾Are you sure you’re not a wedding planner? 😉📸
Hello! I love your videos. I have a question about candles, for an outdoor wedding are battery operated candles better so the flame won't burn out or be blown out by wind? Know of any good quality battery operated candles?
Most of my weddings use real candles and they are votive candles that sit in glass or speckled metal jars about an inch below the rim and it helps them stay lit if it's not too windy. I also see taller candles in glass "vases" like this example and they are deep enough to stay lit (www.cavinelizabeth.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Indian-Wells-Golf-Resort-Wedding-Photography-67.jpg). Lastly, there are taper candles which will go out easily if there is wind but you can put them in "hurricanes" to keep them lit. I used them for my wedding: www.tanyamenoni.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/08-6765-post/fairmont-grand-del-mar-wedding-127.jpg . You can definitely do battery operated candles, you just might find them more limiting in color for something like a tall taper candle but they are good for votive candles when nobody can really tell the difference anyway!
I love these tablescape ideas! And I love the fruit on your table, those rude commentators can shut it. 😂 I really like being subtle and not so obvious. For our fall wedding i'd like to do table numbers using white pumpkins with a gold number written on them. Plus they're biodegradable and eco friendly.
Such great ideas, thank you ! 🙏🏽 I had a question about where people get their candle votives ? When I look for them, I only see plain ones or the mercury glass ones. I’m looking for more unique/high-end looking ones. I’m a new florist so looking to buy wholesale, but at this point willing to purchase wherever ! Lol
Would you be down to make a breakdown video of your wedding budget and how much you spent on each area, what vendor you used, paired with more pictures of your wedding?
I've definitely thought about it, mine is super complicated because I did full and partial trades for a few of the vendors (I photographed their inventories/family photos in exchange for their services). If I can figure out how much I would have spent without the trades, then I will put one together!
Informative. Can you do a video on choosing a second dress like should it be same design as the first dress or can one be white and other a color dress? Also chasing black wedding dress. Does it effect the photo esthetic? Are all photos shown yours? Just out of curiosity if it’s your do you need the couple’s permission to show those pictures? Like if your showing their photos with them in it.
I do have a video on gown changes: th-cam.com/video/8xZHZ5znf38/w-d-xo.html Nothing on black gowns yet. All photos shown are mine or of my own wedding/me. I have model releases signed by all my clients to use images for any of my marketing needs. It's standard for photographers.
Calvin, these pretty tablescapes seem to already have plates set. Is that because they were buffet? How would the table typically be set for a sit down, served dinner? Our tables will be round and accommodate 8 guests each. I do t want to have our centerpieces be too big for the tables. Thank you.
Usually the table is already set for photos and then the catering staff removes the plates and brings their own plates meals from the kitchen. Essentially, the pretty tablescapes are just for the photos ;)
Thank you for calling out the rude comment!! Your table was exactly what I picture for my daughters upcoming wedding!!
Of course! People love to hate behind the screen; we just have to be confident in our own desires and loves :)
Omg your tablescape for your wedding is gorgeous, I love all the different colors. The fruit is fun!
Thank you SO much!!
You have amazing taste and I love your videos because you have unique and accurate insights.
I appreciate that!
Love these! So inspirational and you were really able to clearly explain the themes, the items included, and the stories behind them. 🥰
Thank you so much Larshell!

Great question - I would ask some florists. Many are happy to share. You could email Flowers by Annette Gomez and tell her Cavin sent you :)

Did you wear a blue Marchessa gown with colorful flowers? Was your ring on a miniature blue chair? If so, your wedding is posted on my pinterest
Yep, that's my wedding :)

@@cavinelizabeth thank you
are these all weddings you’ve photographed?
Yes. They are all my photos except the ones of my own actual wedding.
“That persons an idiot” hahahaha
lol, nobody is coming for my wedding!
