GREAT FORTS - GARDERHØJ FORT THE AMAZING FORTRESS LINE COPENHAGEN

One of the largest fortress construction projects in Danish history was that of the fortresses surrounding Copenhagen. A vast ring of defences and forts was constructed in the decades before WW1.
One of the largest was Garderhøj Fort. It was constructed at the same time as Feste De Mutzig was experimenting with new steel domes and cement.
With an eye on the special conditions of Denmark, inspired by Brailmont and supplied partly with German weapons. This is one of the most important historical fortifications incorporating some lessons learned and lacking others.
Interestingly enough despite being obsolete after WW1 the fort found a special and very secret part of the Cold War also.
Also some of the most amazing and well armed sea forts was also constructed for the line, we will visit a few of these also. I was amazed when I finally saw the enormity of these Danish forts.
