- This oil painting captures everything I love about the marsh. Waterfowl have always been near the center of my passion for wildlife. In this video I walk you through my latest landscape painting and talk about the things that led me to this scene. This is a 30x40" oil painting on cradled canvas board.

The Master
I watched a video of a man drawing.
And I wanted to cry from the beauty I saw.
In front of me there was a Master, and he created, forming
A new dimension in the picture of two-dimensional video.
In front of me there was a Master, and his brush fluttered so,
Like he was Superman, maybe not from this planet.
And how much work and intensity, I did not know,
How much energy was in the picture. There was summer in it.
There were just ducks, just mountains, air and water.
Just clouds and a sunset, just the wind caressed dry blades of rustling sedge.
But the way he painted - I had no idea how difficult was it.
How bright it was, how important it was for the Master - who fell in love with everything in the edge.
I knew I would never be able to draw like that.
I knew that I was not meant to do this, and I was too sorry to give my life to draw.
And the Master stood on the threshold of the picture and at the same time - on the shore.
He could be anywhere he wanted with his brush and bright paint.
Such greatness, such light changes even weak souls.
And gives them strength.
All my life I did nothing and dreamed of being not so bad.
I cried all my life and did not ask anyone for anything I want.
All my life I've been on my own
But never achieved greatness in any art.
And now I just watched him draw -
The Master who fills with paint every empty part.
And I don't care that I'll never be a Master.
It doesn't matter if he can do what I can't.
Master, Master, please erase me with a rubber.
And draw a new one - strong, beautiful and bright.

Reminds me of home (Scotland). Sometimes we do take it for granted but you remind me of how special our wetlands are. We call it it countryside but basically it's the same thing. I love nature and I love vibrant landscape paintings. You've done a great job in portraying both & inspiring others like me to connect or re-connect with nature. Arid lands aren't quite the same and I know what you mean. I think of places like the Canaries eg Fuertaventura or Lanzarote where us Brits often go on holiday for the sun. However life can indeed flow from arid lands too with modern technology e.g. Vertical Farming and Solar Power. We can create a mock wetlands or artificial wetlands e.g. from a man made reservoir or pond. There are some in Scotland and Spain that I know of & you wouldn't be able to tell they're man-made! They look completely natural and like they've always been there! Maybe an idea for your local area? Anyways thanks again for your channel, I'm off to paint 😊💞🕉🙏
