  • Van Mahothsav - Forest festival', is an annual one-week tree-planting festival in India which is celebrated in the first week of July. It is a great traditional Indian festival that reflects Indian culture and heritage to honor and love mother earth by planting trees, by creating awareness of nature's beauty, and by fostering an environment to promote the concept of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Students at Meridian School Kukatpally observed this important day with great enthusiasm and fervour with the activities helmed by Science department teachers.
A special assembly was conducted where students from Grade 6-10 presented a heart touching skit with a dash of humour on the importance of preserving our forests.
It resonated very well with the students as they applauded them enthusiastically.
A poetry on trees and a dance on importance of trees was presented as well.
While the seniors made these presentations, our junior segment - Grade 3 to 5 also paid their tribute to forests with a special dance performance.
Our tiny tots from Pre-primary made seed balls in an activity - Merk Nendo Dango.
Tree plantation drive was also carried out by environmental club members alongwith Science department.
