Matchbox renovation Scammell 6x6 & Caterpillar Tractor No.K-8. Diecast model toy.

Scammell 6x6 & Caterpillar Tractor model number K-8 comes from an online auction. It was on display without a Catepillar tractor. I had a tractor before, because it was a gift from a friend from France. This king size model made its debut on the toy market in 1962 and was produced until 1967. The truck with the trailer carrying the Caterpillar tractor was a real treat for children and aroused great interest. In the initial phase, the Lesley company produced this model with metal rims that held the plastic tires very well. Later this patent was replaced with plastic rims and here it was not so rosy anymore, because the plastic wheels were falling off. My car is from the first years of production and there is no such problem. I painted it according to the original, I added a trailer hitch, which was made of a soft wire in an unprofessional manner. I have equipped my Caterpillar tractor with new tracks. To complete the whole, I made a copy of the box, one of the largest in the history of Lesney. BeUtiful work, Paul! Without the dozer blade to trap them, those caterpillar tracks use to disappear like magic.
Have you considered individual tutorials? Making replacement tracks? Making replacement decals? Sourcing images and printing package boxes? Using g wood to undebt the metal garbage truck cabs was brilliant.

трактор вообще 1 в 1 как электромеханические игрушки большего масштаба, выпускавшиеся в СССР, на ряде игрушечных фабрик(Таганрогской и в Мск и Ленинграде точно, но, вроде были и производства "Пико" ГДР). Практически такой же жестяной жёлтого цвета трактор, с пластиковым прозрачным "мотором", внутри которого был коленвал и ходили 4 поршня в цилиндрах(и ещё вся эта красота подсвечивалась снизу лампочкой), и от этого же коленвала шёл привод ремённый через 2 шкива и резиновую передачу на пластиковый "вентилятор охлаждения", питалось это всё от квадратной 4,5В батарейки, располагавшейся под иммитацией двигла, и ездило на электродвижке через редуктор крутивший пластиковые ведущие барабаны и резиновые гусеницы трахтура. Переключатель хода вперёд - выключено - назад и выключатель подсветки двигателя, были выполнены в пластиковых рычагов управления трактора(те располагались перед сидушкой). Кстати ХЗ почему, такие тракторы были почти во всех советских школах в кабинетах физики, для демонстрации всяких опытов по механике(с динамометрами, типа сопротивления качения, и тд и тп). Возможно входили в стандартный набор оборудования физ кабинетов. Я не удивлюсь что их до сих пор используют и они до сих пор таскают перед школьниками всякие грузики на тележке и без. Неубиваемая штука

Трактор о котором вы пишите был в моем детстве только производства ГДР, производства пико завода да и вообще поршни светились лампочкой можно было управлять гусеницами и я до сих пор очень помню эту игрушку. С наилучшими пожеланиями

@@PaulRestorer у нас был Таганрогской фабрики, это я точно помню. Сам трактор жёлтый, сидушка зелёная, катки гусениц красные. Встречались ещё такие же трактора с тележкой(у трактора сзади был форкоп), и с бульдозером, видела даже упаковку, обычный белый картон с плохого качества цветной печатью на ней. Производства не Таганрогского, а кажется Огонёк Москва, или Лениградская фабрика какая(но могу и путать). Были бело-кремовые с синим, с красной тележкой, и вроде голубые вспоминаются.
