I’ve started making zines with other writers in Melbourne. I find them really empowering and freeing, since I’m traditionally a long form writer who independently publishes novels/poetry books. Zines are an extension of my self-publishing journey. Zines unite writers ☀️
This is such I high quality video and something I’m genuinely interested in so I’m super surprised that it only has like a thousand or so views. Keep making videos!
I was around for the wave of not only zines but the "mail art" that was such a vital and transformative medium, shaping taste and form for decades afterwards. It took many forms. I lived with Stu Horn, one of the noted practitioners, and it was amazing how art would just arrive every single day, and we would take the responses down to the box. It was a vibrant conversation, worth remembering and revisiting... and reviving.
Lmao you are all so desperate to pretend like your religion exists and spread for any reason other than the fact it legitimizes the authority of autocrats like Kings.

I'm curious to know whether the handmade poetry "books," made by Greek poets of antiquity, qualify as zines?
