  • Long overdue update for the Element Knightrunner. I've been putting off adding the Knight Customs IFS lift for a long time, because I wanted to get some other rigs and some of the lighting for the Knightrunner squared away before I started doing videos on it again. Well, I'm ready to start running the rig again, so the build updates will be coming on this rig.

    Look great! The Knight Customs pieces are a must have for the IFS. I like the skid you printed on the KR. I need to print that one out. I have the same skid on my GK-Knightrunner as you do on your Trailwalker. Looks good, but not as angled back.

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it looks a lot more scale from the front. I plan to print one out for another Yota I want to make with those Gatekeeper kits we just got.

    Thank you for this video. I might consider doing this.

    In order to improve the steering performance, it helps to keep the steering arm in parallel with both upper and lower arms by adding a small spacer in between. I used 2mm spacer and that gave me the angle that I needed.

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it would be ideal to keep it parallel. I wasn't completely happy trying the spacer, so I'm going to try figuring out another way when I have time.

    Hey I know this was a while ago now but is there any chance you remember where you got the grill from? I've been looking all over and can't find it

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which grill? the Knightrunner? Knight Customs had it without the "Toyota" which some people modified to add later. It would seem Knight Customs has removed a lot of Knightrunner and Trailrunner files that he used to sell. I'm not sure why though.

    Sweet build! What are the amber lights mounted to the front bumper? I’ve been looking for some amber lights for my knightrunner and those look awesome!

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are pod lights that MyTrickRC has. ✌️

    Nice video 👍 However I am still confused a little bit. A) For the Knightrunner can I use both the IFS mod and Skid Plate you were showing at the end of your video and swap them vice versa on the Knightrunner to your other Enduro?
    B) In the end will I need to order both - the 1. Knight Customs IFS Modification AND the 2. Knight Customs Lowered Chassis set for Knightrunner ? - - - Cheers 😉

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A. The skids are swappable. You use one or the other. Lift portion is the same and included in both sets. B. You only need to order 1 of them. They both come with the lift portion. The only difference is one comes with the more scale looking skid (Knightrunner Lowered chassis set) and some other additional pieces, and the other is just a simple shortened replacement for the stock skid (the IFS lift standalone)

    Thanks for the video, but could you clarify something for me...at the 9:45 mark, you installed the 3D parts to the chassis, then at 10:28, it looks like you installed those same parts to the transmission housing before installing the entire assembly to the chassis. Did I miss something?

    • @DaveFitz
      @DaveFitz ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't have access to a 3D printer do you think shaving down the factory transmission mounts and tapping new screw holes would serve the same purpose?
      I could see it might not align with the factory skid plate afterward though...

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just some missed video editing LOL! good catch! Attach to the diff housing first, then to the servo plate.

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  ปีที่แล้ว

      You will likely run into issues trying to tap those new screw holes since those mounts are at an angle.

    Thanks for the video - Did you have to trim the drive shafts? Did I miss that part of the video?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I didn't need to trim any driveshafts. You do need to trim some of the battery tray to let the driveshafts clear.

    why did it seem so solid when you pushed on the hood?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  ปีที่แล้ว

      Took me a while to figure out what you were talking about, but in that part of the video I wasn't really pushing down. Was more of a tap/nudge.

    Super helpful install guide. How do you adjust the steering links to counter the toe in? Do they just twist further out?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's pretty hard with this IFS kit, because the geometry isn't exactly perfect. You just need to find a middle ground where it doesn't deviate in either direction too much. I try to have it as straight as possible at rest. It's a combination of adjusting link lengths as well as making sure the link angles are correct with the arms.

    Bought mine used with this kit installed. How critical is the driveshaft installation. Mine seems to be out of phase. I thought the cv pins should be aligned?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always make sure the driveshafts are in phase. It makes it run much smoother!

    With the SSD Brass knuckles did you have to do any modifications?

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been a while, but I didn't have to do anything. I just don't remember if I had to use the stock kingpin screws or if I used the ones that came with the knuckles.

    Is there a re-seller where I can buy the parts? I don’t have a 3d printer

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'll have to hit someone up with a 3D printer to see if they'd be willing to print it for you if you purchase the files.
