The lap steel solo on High Hopes is criminally underrated
What about on the turning away?
No guitar player has motivated me to play more and also make me discouraged at the same time 😂
Hahah nooo don't get discouraged! You should go, play and have fun! 😁
Another one of Gilmour's best solos isn't even a guitar solo! It's the lap steel solo he plays after the last chorus until the end fade out in High Hopes from The Division Bell. It's so epic and emotional, 30 years later I still get goose bumps every time I listen to it. I was lucky enough in 1994 at 20 years old and see Pink Floyd and the Division Bell tour when it stopped in Toronto. To see/listen to that song be performed live while in the same space was a moment I will never forget! Plus when he played Comfortably Numb, if you've watched the live concert movie of the Division Bell show at Earl's Court, when the Comfortably Numb solo really takes off half way through and that disco ball starts to open scattering light every where in the audience, it was was so much more amazing to be in the stadium in Toronto when that happened. You could feel the place/crowd levitate!!
My favorite is on the turning away from delicate sound of thunder
Both comfortably numb and on the turning away are the On Delicate Sound. Go for the Remastered version from On the turning away On TH-cam
This High Hopes from pulse and In any tounge from Pompeii
@@ogjonboy88 yessss in any tongue
David Gilmour is honestly my favourite guitarist, his solos are awesome
aspettavo questo video da anni. Grazie
The Comfortably numb solos are just epic , blows my mind every single time I hear it, you did a great job of playing that , fair do’s 👍👍🤠🎸
Thank you.
It's not often that you can find someone who can play the notes without substitutions, improvisation, or poor timing.
I felt you truly intended to mimic out of respect and you did with attention to detail. My hats off to you sir. I certainly appreciated it.
When I got my first electric guitar, and learned how to read tab, I knew exactly what guitar solo I wanted to learn first. It absolutely was Comfortably Numb. It took me forever to learn, but Ill never forget how excited I was to be able to play it. Such a fun and powerful solo. Davids phrasing is so cool.
I commend you on your playing, beautifully done and a great advert for HB guitars. Sounded terrific.
When it comes to memorable sumptuous guitar solos Gilmore is a God, no-one sounds like he does or is so instantly identifiable.
You could never replace him.
I don't have a favourite really although Brick in the wall is up there with his finest efforts.
He's back on the road this year, still doing it at 78.
Gilmour is a Master, and thanks for honoring him, and his amazing works! You replicate him well! Awesome sound!
i always forget how great pink floyd and david gilmour were... i should go for a nice little evening walk and listen to the "pulse" live cd, it's an album i really enjoy a lot. haven't listened to it in ages. great playing as always!
Fantastic choice. And No contest. Comfortably Numb the absolute best solo of all time period 🎸💯
Great post . Shows how much quality comes the player and less so the guitar 👌👌👍😎
GRANDISSIMO ❤️❤️
Agreed. Gilmour has an incredible catalog of solos. Let me suggest 3 from the album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason". The outros on "Sorrow" and "On the Turning Away" and the solo on "Yet Another Movie". "Momentary Lapse", in my humble opinion, doesnt get the credit it deserves because it was the first album in the "post-Waters" era. But that album is some of their best work and holds it own in comparison to the classics.
Excellent 😊
Grazie!
Fantástico Danilo,me fascina David guilmour.
1980 opening night the wall in la. Comfortably Numb solo was just about the best concert moment ever, for me
EXCELLENT.
High Hopes and Learning to Fly are two of my favourites
This video shows once again what a amazing guitarist you are. Playing soulful solos with a relatively poor guitar. 🤟 Thanks for that 🎸
Great video for a great Gilmour.
Maybe first could be “high hopes”, but I accept authors decision about the grade from 5 to 1st
Viva Pink Floyd 🎉🎸
marooned and high hopes last solo are the most underrated ones
Fantastic, there is too much guitar snobbery, you absolutely got the sound.
I love DG. best guitarist in the world.
Top 5 solos do Skid Row por favor!
On the turning away sempre nel ❤
Pink Floyd ❤tutte!
On The Turning Away!!!
Got to hav a cigar and David Gilmour jus beautiful songs
Holy shit! These are not only note for note spot on, but you’ve captured his feel (to about 80% - which for a Gilmour solo I mean that as the highest compliment)
You are a great guitar player yourself!
Nooooo. What? : )
And there you have it all of that with 150.00 euro lol, Just excellent! #1 for me to. David Gilmore another great and truth be told back in 1983 at 18yrs old pretty much all of us jumped on the Yngwie bandwagon until like 1995 when I really said that David Gilmore choice of notes is masterpiece! Another underrated guitar player of the 80's was definitely George Lynch.
Slide solo from part 6-9 of shine on you crazy diamond deserved to be on this in My modest opinion
Impossibile scegliere!!!!!!
Bending leggermente calante.
Dogs’ main solo is beyond slept on.
The Harley Benton is so awesome that David Gilmour auctionned his guitars and bought one 😂
Post production…
I have a te 62, its cool guitar for the price, but not a miraculous guitare…
The HB is plugged to the Quad Cortex and that’s it. There’s no post production 🤘🏻
@@DaniloVicari yes bit its not a little nux 🤣
@samueldubois9790 well no, but not even the Fender Custom Shop Gilmour Signature could have done miracles in the little Nux 😂
Ottimo video.
Wish you were here is my favorite
Was just thinking of David Gilmore last night and looking at his live performances. Do you read minds bro?
From Murphy Lab to Harley Benton Lab :-) Porella, se scorda ad ogni bending :-)
Any of those five could be a #1. Gilmore was able to draw passion and feeling from all his solos.
You have to be kidding by not having Dogs in the top 5. Animals at all?
Solo of Time is approximative !
Dogs!!!
Marooned per me li batte tutti 😬
Senza dubbio confortably numb 👍
Erster Aufruf!
Comfortably Numb. Period. End of story.
Pls play all the songs with your Fender Strat. The Harley Benton is 🤢🤮
He can use the guitar he wants, bro. Chill.
