It bothers me a lot that the units in AoE1 look absurdly better than AoE2...

Yeah, chariots were sooo OP in this game. Super strong, don't require gold, and there are no cheap counters to them. Loved to spam them too :p
I loved spamming Chariot Archers :D Too bad Romans don't have them.
@JorgitoYokiro lmao true i dont even know why they added them centurions are way better stronger and they look cooler and even tho they walk slower you can upgrade their speed in the government center so they can walk as fast as a legion. Unless your Choson theirs no good reason to use legions
The only downside is their kinda weak health wise

I bought the CD of AOE 1 back in 1990's and still play it. Everyone has his own approach to playing this game, and that the beauty of it. But we all agree that the AOE 1 is a great strategy game. Like chess It never gets too old to play.

Age of Empires: Rise of Rome is a magnificently brilliant game, i played it constantly, however there's a major error bug contained therein, let me give you an example, lets say you destroy an enemy town center building, the enemy would thereafter instruct a villager to therewith attempt building another town center, but if the town center is destroyed before it can be completed the enemy AI will never build that particular building ever again, which in this case is the town center. I'm uncertain wherefrom this bug arose how did game developers overlook it? This faulty bug goes for every building in the game, whether you're playing random map or campaign, if the villager is busy constructing a building the second time after it was demolished the first time and you kill him while he's busy constructing a building you can be certain the enemy AI won't construct that particular building again. Now you don't even need to kill the villager, however if the building is eradicated before it's completion the villagers are unable to construct it subsequently. This error bug is totally present in the demo version of Age of Empires: Rise of Rome, i thought it would be removed in the full version of the game but it remained therein. To me it's immensely problematical trouble arising therefrom, thereby causing it becoming too easy to achieve victory especially on easiest skill level, however on hardest skill levels there's no way to get into an enemy town lol lol, resulting from callous unforgivingly ruthless merciless relentless enemy AI. The only part thereof which i can't enjoy is this astronomical bug dysfunction contained within Age of Empires: Rise of Rome, i nevertheless appreciate it's graphical aspect which is fantastically superlatively marvellous. As a multiplayer game Age of Empires is superior. In Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings such a bug doesn't exist, it's been omitted and fixed, no matter how many times an enemy building is obliterated the enemy AI repetitively construct buildings again and again thereby expanding their town and army size. In Age of Empires 2 and The Conquerors expansion the enemy AI is viciously ferocious especially on higher skill levels which is what i enjoy, i'm searching for massive challenges which is what Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings and The Conquerors expansion totally possess in all it's gloriously majestic splendorous wonder.

Хорошо играешь, но видишь в чем дело - начинать в Железном веке, это слишком легко. Самое сложное - победить семерых "хардестов", начиная в каменном веке, потому что у них на старте будет огромный запас ресурсов, и они так или иначе быстрее тебя перейдут в бронзовый и может даже в железный век.
Я побеждал в таких играх, но естественно на самых гигантских картах (Gigantic).
Еще очень интересно сражаться против семерых "хардестов" в Death Match, но там уже, естественно, начиная в железном веке с открытой картой.
А ты пробовал играть с такими настройками, которые я описал?
Я делаю разные видео, где-то начинаю в каменном, где-то в железном веке. 7-ех хардестов вроде бы тоже победил начиная в каменном в веке, правда начинал с одного крестьянина, что немного полегче. Death match против 7 ех не получается.

Helepolis are awesome. Their fast fire rate is indispensable.
Unfortunately, they can suffer from catapults. Also they are not mobile. So I recommend to combine them with Chariots. Very good combination.

In a single player game, you can have max 50 population.
But in multiplayer game, how you see on the video, you can set population to 200 :-).
But this game is nt multi right ?

Only in multiplayer you can choose your population up to 200, with other players or the AI.
AoE 1 multiplayer you can play through Voobly or Gameranger - 1 Original CD is required for every 4 human players however, so for example if you play 2v2, at least one of you must have original CD running while playing.

I've only play the first 3 aoe: aoe 1, aoe 2 and aom.
For a long time aom was my favorite, but after understanding better the mechanics, aoe 1 is my favorite.
I don't know if i had a modded version but, i find out that if i press the "." button, it do direct me to unocupied villagers and fishers.
I used to have my CD but i don't know what i did to it. So i download it from internet.
True. Aom is good for me too. Cant play aoe2. Aoe1 is my favourite.
What I don't like playing Romans is that they don't have any good archers.

My version of the game doesn't have some of these tracks, no idea why. It's Rise of Rome too
If you're playing on Win10 then maybe it has compability issues, on one of my PCs the music and cutscenes are straight gone, probably nothing can be done about it other than playing on a virtual machine

You didn't quite verse 7 hardest randoms because they didn't all turn you to enemy at once. Half were neutral most of the game. Play one where you are team 1 and all 7 RANDOM civs are team 2.
Yes, it more difficult, because in the beginning they have plenty of resources, but I have a few. Also I need to destroy their wonders.

My opinion? Nearly never... too slow. The thing is this game the AI is so powerful is insane, and the only unit that combines cheap, fast, and quick to do and of course good is the orse archer. Still i dont know how he can beat 7 hardest, i cant beat 4. Any advice?
fully upgraded centurion is the strongest, but only if used in concert with chariots, Sumerian is a great civ to play using this strategy
