The acting in this scene is impecable.
I like how he was ashamed what he did almost immediately couldn’t even look at Will on the way out.
I think it was more that Will had opened up a sensetive wound that was heavily guarded but wasn't healed...
When Will started talking about Sean's dead wife in an uncouth manner, Mr. Maguire was suddenly forced to defend his departed wife and the love they shared.
In doing so, it brought to the surface and layed bare all of the feelings he had sealed away within himself.
This scene and the one where Will apologizes to Sean are two of the most emotional scenes in this, or any other movie of it's time.
Also, the reason he didn't look at Will as he was leaving is because Sean went right back to looking at the painting.
No he was ashamed. Because he knew wills game and still got played and physically hurt will all while knowing that’s what every other adult has done to him.
I wish Robin Williams is still with us today😭💖
Should be a lesson to us all to be sure we speak to our friends, even the happiest looking ones
I don’t.
I DO TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
There never was a film that Robin Williams didn't do good in.
Funnily enough, I'm pretty sure it's Sean's violent outburst that got Will to consider respecting him
This scene made me sad because I could feel what Robin Williams felt. He lost his wife and the painting was the only good thing that reminded him of her.
That’s one interpretation. I see it as a painting he made after her passing. It symbolizes his grief and loneliness without his wife. He’s in a storm that in the sailors mind, will probably be his end. By Sean’s reaction the wound is still very much unhealed. He gets physical with will and regrets it immediately.
Robin Williams that was real emotion, Matt Damon knew it you can see it in his eyes that seen it was real
Oh Robin Williams, if only you were here, we all miss you 😭💔
life imitates art. So sad this scene predicted Robin's future demise
Looks Like The Saddest Scene In This Is Us.
