Maybe 7 hours is too much for you. Maybe your methods are boring, repetitive and not efective. Try to change your schedule and priorize whatever method works better for you. In the video he talks about it.
testing-active recall, flashcards, testing yourself before, during, and after studying spacing-"deliberate non-practicing", space out study sessions to forget some information categorizing-if you want learn the information, create a category-based system such as a "tree of knowledge" or "mind map" with branches that hold specific information about that general subject interleaving-if you're finding learning hard, then you're learning correctly. the brain is like a muscle; work it out.
1:39 Testing: basically active recall 3:50 Spacing: spaced repetition 6:49 Categorising: buliding a tree of knowledge to categorise every new information under an abstrakt or a type 10:07 Interleaving: don't do 20 maths problems in 4 hours straight, rather do 5 in an hour for 4 days
I think that is NOT what he meant with #4 - Interleaving. #4 is more about 'mixing' your set of problems to make them mentally challenging. Such that you will learn to stick the solution with problem type. But further utilizing this technique with #2 spaced repetition, then you are kind of right. Here we 'mix' the information (#4) but also 'space it out' over lets say 4 days (#2). Doing so, you have both the techniques in motion.

Really great advice. I am a science student and always saw that when I first learned something it made most sense, however when I revisited it it would not stick or make much sense. Hopefully now I can actually learn the content properly.
Im practicing your framework ever since the start of my college life. Im hoping this will significantly change my performance in the future as I will also study medicine afterwards.
I have my first exam this year in 2 weeks & like a month ago I started "testing" me with ANKI the first time. And well, know I answered nearly everything right I lost my motivation to continue my studies. I wasn't sure about what to do more, than reading the books our profs gave us. So I know that I can't quit to study 2 weeks before and that's why I decided to search techniques or something like study motivation on TH-cam - and then I found this video. While I'm watching your video I already know how to challenge myself with the knowledge I earned from learning with ANKI (Tree of knowledge: I can visualize and work on specific categories or go deeper in the subject if I have to). - You motivated me again with giving me a direction - thanks for that video! :)

I'd love a video on the effect that believing in ones self has on learning. Particularly relevant at this time when many people are struggling to keep above water and may be feeling hopeless about the future, and their ability to effect change in their lives.
You are doing a great job. It is not possible for all of us for buying courses to know such things and u are providing it for free. Thanks a lot ali....

I will update you guys on how it goes and if my grades improve cos my studying strategy was not effective before coz I always get caught up by exams before I revise certain topics. In sha Allah I hope it works for me
Hey Ali! Can you make a video about going through some different types of learning material and how you take notes/active recall/flashcards/study and learn new content? Instead of just describing it, can you actually show a little bit of doing it in real time? Like pharmacology, pathophysiology, conceptual-based learning, and others? I would really appreciate it... I'm getting stuck on the nuance of what to even write as questions when I am studying and how specific I need to be. For example: what do you need to memorize VERBATIM as opposed to making a conclusion yourself, in your own words? Thanks a lot and you are amazing!!!
thanks for making this video! i'm going to go back to high school next week as a senior. college entrance exam started to haunt me and i was confused on how to start studying the new material. this is very helpful for me to create new notes (and not cramming all sylabus on a night).

Holy cow, I'm so glad I dug this up off an old playlist I'd forgotten about, because now I'm finally about to return to school after a long gap and this is the most incredibly high-value and phenomenally specific study advice video I've seen -- and I've watched many! This is phenomenal material, thank you so much for making it! I'm going for my first full undergrad degree and seriously considering aiming for med school afterward, so I appreciate getting to learn all about things you wish you'd done from the beginning. :)
Your topic today is so important for studying. I discovered your channel a few days ago. My exams will begin in two weeks. But I didn’t learn enough because of my not-knowing-how-to-learn. Do you have any idea how to realize the STIC-technique for the last days till exams?
Thanks a lot for answering ;-)
Smoke a joint and search on TH-cam/Google for videos/summaries.. you won't ace it but you should pass 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is so well-structured and answered all of my struggling. Thank you so much
Thanks Ali, I am student from India. your videos are filled with great content!!.
This is the single most important video for getting to know how to study!
Amazing work Ali🙏🏽
I've just discovered your channel, and I have to say thank you for creating such useful and well researched content!!
These tips are extremely helpful and powerful some sorts of stuff which at the initial level look hard and tricky and technical in nature.
Special thanks to you for sharing tested and evidence based information .
Doctor love you bro
Really great advice. I am a science student and always saw that when I first learned something it made most sense, however when I revisited it it would not stick or make much sense. Hopefully now I can actually learn the content properly.
Im practicing your framework ever since the start of my college life. Im hoping this will significantly change my performance in the future as I will also study medicine afterwards.
How did it go?
Yeah how did it go?
They never come back
This guy truly shows smart is the new sexy
New? In a world of average smart has always been sexy to the right audience. If you are good looking that’s a bonus.
Watching you is my biggest flex because it makes me feel like such a smart and responsible individual 🤓
hey Ali , let just let people know how this beautiful way of learning help an individual. So i am going to start using this technique on a regular basis and as i got my semesters , i'll let everybody know how it helped me improve my grades and my retaining capability. Thankyou♥️

First time here
*And i am really happy to see the quality of ur content whether it is editing or telling ur point.*
Love all your videos. This one is very informative and really helps me.
Can you please make a video based on your routine on the day of the exam...
Mega Love from South Africa
I used spaced repetition and active recall in my college course this year and I’m expecting 4 A’s when my results come through in August. Thank you for your videos
Mashallah Ali, I was just asking myself how to study for my exams which will be soon and you posted this video just in time, thanks!!
Thank you for this it was so helpful! I am working towards my PhD and I always struggled with learning new fields, thank you for this video!
THANK YOU SO FREAKING MUCH! I’m going to high school soon, and I really needed this. I’m so happy I discovered you, ty!
Amazing tips Ali! Thank you so much! I always find myself coming to your channel whenever I feel unmotivated!
I feel like if I thought like you just once then all my life problems would be solved.... Great video (as they all are) tree of knowledge is genius
Can you do a video qbout how you do your mind maps? Thank you!!!
I have my finals in 5 month and I recently came across Ali’s videos I want to start following all his tips I.e. active recall etc .
I will update you guys on how it goes and if my grades improve cos my studying strategy was not effective before coz I always get caught up by exams before I revise certain topics. In sha Allah I hope it works for me
So how did it go?
This guy has no idea how much of an impact he's making on our lives . I'm totally addicted to his videos.❤️❤️
Literally needed this 🙏🏽 my exams are in one week
thanks for making this video! i'm going to go back to high school next week as a senior. college entrance exam started to haunt me and i was confused on how to start studying the new material. this is very helpful for me to create new notes (and not cramming all sylabus on a night).

Categorizing system works great for 1st year calculus and mathematics in general, especially when you coincide it with a lot of practice 😊
Hey Ali can you make a video that you can show how to read effectively and to have a better understanding of a book ?
This is absolutely amazing but it's a couple weeks too late for me. Today's my last a-level exam 😅 I'll be sure to apply this once I'm off to university though
Listening To Ali makes me fill like I can do this .
I mean my first term of medical school was hectic .
Am glad I get to learn from you .
D-3 before midterm and I was stucked here tired of reading books, then I found this video and spent like 13 minutes for these incredible information🙏❤️
thank you!
I honestly can't believe your videos are free, if they were shown in schools (or higher) I think people would perform much better
I know this is an old video and I saw other videos of you explaining spaced repetition and active recall but I'm trying to adapt these methods and use them for my AS exams. You've helped a ton thanks a lot!
I have a test tomorrow, this vedio couldn't have a better timing 🤗
Alhamdulillah, for having the chance of knowing this❤️❤️❤️I wish I could apply this!
Tomorrow my exam, but I have not finished anything yet. Freaking out.
This video came on right time👏.
I would love to hear your view on how exactly to prepare for an oral exam ! Thanks for all the great content :)
to understand the topic people needs to watch half of your videos in YT. Yes you are smart..
I just watched this video and I think that my life as a 4th year medical student will change for good. Thank you!
Thank you for considering my comment. Your intro is now more direct, much better and grab the attention immediately. Salam from Indonesia
this was one of the most helpful study tips i ever found here on TH-cam.
You are true good human being ,what you have learnt from this world ,you have shared to us .god bless to you .i have learn new things from you at this moments
I just love your videos so much! Not only do they motivate me but they also made my studying much more efficient so thank you so much❤️

Hi there Ali,
This video was very informative. It is actually overwhelming to see how study techniques patterns help you learn new things effectively. I have been practicing spaced repetition and active recall to learn French and It works amazingly. Thank you for sharing such pieces of information which could make a significant impact on learning.
As always we appreciate your hard work.
Thank you.
thank you very mush it really helped honestly before i wouldn't care as long as i got in the top 3 but now in class two guys who didn't even bat an eye on me since years suddenly became so competitive towards me but then they actually crossed the line by asking the teacher my marks behind my back and yeah....i really what to put them to the 4th and 5th place while i take the first one plus thin helped me a lot
Hey Ali! 😁💜 Just wanted to say how much I LOVE and appreciate your videos!!! I’m always hooked and want to binge watch them, even though I already have done that like 5 times 😭💕 keep going, you make my day :))
