Plus last time Denmark won (2013, I think?) the song, Teardrops sung by Emilie DeForest, was the most freaking beautiful thing I'd ever heard. When it comes to Eurovision, yes Scandinavia is pretty superior.

I don't care how it's structured as long as it's an original song competition instead of people singing other people's songs. It would be instantly better than any other talent show because we get to hear new songs rather than old ones. If I wanted to hear old songs I'd listen to the professional that 9 times out of 10 is way better than an amateur, it never made sense to me.

This is one of those rare Eurovision-winning pop songs that has actual balls and is worth listening to over and over again. Denmark chose correctly in 2013 and "Only Teardrops" is one of the top ten best Eurovision winning songs out there.
She deserved the first place and she shook the whole place the next year when she sang "rainmaker". She slayed

Strange. Eurovision 2019 has so many ballads, they are good, but nothing special. "Only teardrops" is the definition of what it means special. Meaningful lyrics, unique melody and full of feelings. I got chills.

+Che Guevara If you want more of the awesome drums, try searching for "Copenhagen Drummers". It's a group of four drummers(Two of them are the ones on stage with Emmelie here) who were gaurdsmen for the queen of Denmark. They won Denmark's Got Talent if I remember correctly.

As a Dane I don't think we have came close to an entry that's better than this since, Emmelie is a great performer and I love the sounds and instruments used in the performance aswell as the staging itself, 🇩🇰❤️

They also did a lot to make the good things shine. Like very silent and little music to let her voice shine. And always putting her in the center of attention in front of everybody else. Also they had little things going on in the performance so that we are concentrated towards the music.

Although 2017 had a great show nobody managed to top this. And I've just realised why: take a look at her performance. She does not sing as a contestant at all,she's not trying to impress...she realised she's an artist already and this is the public that came to hear great songs. This is not a talent show,they are already artist. She did just that,focused on delivering the best performance to her public,he treated the public as her own fans and she knew she already won. There was no point on focusing on the contest,she focused on singing and just like that,she won.
