I don't think they had finalized the characterization for them yet because in the later episodes Geoff and DJ don't seem like they would ever do something like that. But I guess having duncan do it on his own with no one laughing just looks lame.

Duncan himself bullied for no real reason just during "The Big Sleep" and when he kicked Harold by soiling his pants with the burrito. The rest of the reasons for misbehaving were his underwear and the fact that he had Courtney's vote rigged in Island. It's not a justification for doing this, but they all had a reason. I think it was mostly a personal matter, Harold and Duncan were also willing to put their differences aside. Then Duncan's sarcastic comments about Leshwana provoked Harold's righteous anger.

Honestly DJ was one of my top three male characters from the first three seasons the others being Duncan and Trent despite him being a cartoon character I could see DJ and I being a good couple he’s a total mamas boy I’m the same way with my dad I’m a total daddy’s girl that and the fact we’re both huge animal lovers i just didn’t like how the 3rd season gave DJ the whole animal curse the dude literally cried over losing his pet bunny during season 1 I felt they did him dirty on that part but again I know he’s a cartoon character it’s just a obvious fact to me that we have a lot in common in some aspects that’s why I like him

Also, he didn't have as many memorable moments as some of Heather's other cohorts (I'm not directly calling them friends since some of them hate her guts), like Gwen or Leshawna. Also also, I don't think there are a lot of people that want to see Harold get his bells ring with a metal case with a million dollars of cold hard cash inside. (Seriously, why do they always go for the kiwis? That's just torture.)

For special and surprising matters I kinda like it when DJ and Heather work together and they make a good duo and team. DJ is nice and good to Heather and Heather is rarely mean to DJ and she's okay with him and she's nice to him and it's an opposites attract thing. I would so look forward to applying for and signing up for Cartoon Network studios and making a new Total Drama show with two seasons and getting DJ and Heather together and making them a couple which is my favorite kind of couple. DJ is the nicest guy to be shipped with Heather and he's a good hero to boot and he's smart. DJ could save and redeem Heather with his niceness, caringness, and cooking and have a good relationship with Heather and he could make her less evil and bring out the good in her, he can also bring out her nice, caring, and soft side.❤ He would also love Heather and give her the love she deserves and make her a better person. Heather on the other hand can also bring out his daring and risk-taking side. Even though DJ X Heather is a crack ship I find it to be my favorite couple and ship that I would like to make work and happen in the future.

As for first five episodes of my version of TDAS, Courtney, Duncan and Heather were placed at the same team, Villainous Vultures.
