Here's an idea: an episode done in the vein of "Duck Amuck" where the world itself goes off the rails, Mario or Bowser has to constantly prod the (troll) game designer to do their job, and the "designer" is revealed at the end to be the other guy.

We had videos where Mario needs to scale up an escape maze, with the lava and acid, so why not a reverse?
Escape from the hydraulic press maze? Mario progresses down while a hydraulic press comes after him to crush him.
Idea: Mario have to choose between all the princesses who he marry. While the rest that we're choosen bet him up.
Mario picks up a Power-Up that allows him to become invisible and intangible randomly. So he can walk through enemies, fall through narrow platforms, miss jumps, fall through lava.

i always wonder what Mario thinks of you when you put him through things that kill him so many times
but one challenge i've yet to see him do the infinite 1-up trick (in the form of a challenge), or something related to the goomba revolution
but what i wanna see the most is Waluigi finally getting some good stuff happening to him.
Here's my idea for a video: "Mario plays Kerbal Space Program!"
Basically, Mario (in a spacesuit) must design a rocket to get into orbit, deliver a payload, then return back to the surface, all with a limited number of lives available for the attempt. However, there are many, MANY challenges that need to be considered when designing a spacecraft, including:
- 1. Making sure that the rocket has enough delta-V for the task at hand, or else, the rocket would likely fall back to Earth before it could reach orbit, or even space. (I believe around 8,600 meters-per-second of delta-V is sufficient to escape into low Earth orbit, plus maybe an additional 3,000 m/s delta-V to account for losses due to atmospheric drag.) Suffice it to say, a tiny single-stage rocket the size of a typical upper stage vehicle would be insufficient for the task at hand.
- 2. Making sure to check the rocket's staging, so that, say, the parachute doesn't deploy prematurely, or that the solid rocket boosters at the sides don't get decoupled before they could be ignited (let alone before they run out of fuel).
- 3. Making sure that the rocket's 1st stage has enough thrust-to-weight ratio to be able to overcome gravity and lift off of the surface, or else the rocket may not lift off at all for a time until enough fuel is drained, in which case, it would then lift off very sluggishly and may drift to crash into something, such as the launchpad or the ground.
- 4. Making sure that the rocket's thrust-to-weight ratio isn't too high, or else not only might the payload (and Mario) be crushed by the immense G-forces, but if it's the 1st stage, the rocket may end up breaking apart due to being subjected to too much aerodynamic stress within the atmosphere before it even reaches the Karman Line (which is where the atmosphere basically ends, and where space begins).
- 5. Making sure that the rocket's center of lift (which is influenced by where its lifting surfaces, a.k.a. wings, rudders, canards, etc., are located) is located behind its center of mass (such as if said lifting surfaces were only present on the rocket's tail end), or else (such as if said lifting surfaces were instead only present on the rocket's nose) the rocket would quickly flip sideways from the atmosphere due to the lifting forces causing the rocket to pivot around its center of mass instead of keeping it straight, potentially ripping parts of it off in the process.
- 6. Making sure that the rocket's vector of thrust (provided by its rocket engines) is pointing directly at its center of mass, or else the rocket would spin around on its center of mass due to a misaligned vector of thrust (especially once it reaches out of the atmosphere, where any lifting surfaces that would've kept the rocket stable, despite this flaw, would've stopped working due to a lack of air pressure).
- 7. Making sure that points 5 and 6 above remain true as the rocket's fuel drains, or else, the rocket could unexpectedly flip out of control... again. (Hint: Drain fuel from as far in the rear as possible 1st before going to the fuel at the topmost parts of the rocket, to keep the rocket more controllable by making it more nose-heavy.)
- 8. Making sure that, after escaping from the atmosphere, the rocket has enough delta-V to be able to insert its payload into orbit, or else, back down to Earth the rocket and payload will go. (Hint: For your rocket's mid and upper stages, use engines that trade thrust-per-mass for higher isp, or specific impulse, which is a measure of how quickly propellent is ejected out of the rocket, which is more efficient than using engines with lower isp. (For example, solid rocket boosters have terrible isp, thus making them suitable for the 1st stage of a rocket only, while ion engines have amazing isp, thus making them well suited towards interplanetary and interstellar voyages.) Also, you won't need as much thrust on your rocket's upper stages as you would when lifting off.)
- 9. Making sure that the rocket's solid rocket boosters and external fuel tanks are discarded via staging only after their fuel has been drained, or else not only would the rocket have wasted delta-V (which may ultimately prevent it from inserting its payload into orbit), but any solid rocket boosters that still have fuel in them may end up boosting and colliding into the rocket after detaching, causing the rocket to spin out of control... again.
- 10. Making sure that the rocket's radially-attached solid rocket boosters and external fuel tanks have tiny SRBs above their centers of mass, and/or powerful enough decouplers that the boosters and external fuel tanks are attached to from above their respective centers of mass, that could boost them away from the main rocket body when they are discarded via staging after their fuel has been drained, or else these detached rocket boosters and/or fuel tanks may end up colliding with the bottom of the main rocket body, potentially causing fatal damage to any rocket engines and fuel tanks down below.
- 11. Making sure that the rocket's external fuel tanks are connected to the rocket by fuel lines that pump the fuel from the external fuel tanks into the rocket. Otherwise, those external fuel tanks would be acting as dead weight, and would fail at providing the rocket with the necessary delta-V to achieve orbit.
- 12. Making sure that the engines for your mid and upper stages have enough thrust to be able to insert the payload into orbit in time before the rocket reenters the atmosphere. (For example, despite having amazing isp, ion drives have so little thrust that they'd be worthless for achieving orbit from the surface of even the least massive of dwarf planets. Instead, liquid-fuel engines running on, say, a mix of either liquid methane or liquid hydrogen, along with liquid oxygen, would be more suitable for the mid and upper stages of a rocket.)
- 13. Making sure that points 5 and 6 above (regarding keeping the center of mass, center of lift, and vector of thrust in the right places) remain true as the rocket discards stages, or else, the rocket could unexpectedly flip out of control... yet again.
- 14. Making sure that the rocket's flight path is optimized to allow it to go straight upwards to escape from the planet's atmosphere as quickly as possible, then once out of the thickest parts of the atmosphere, to perform a gravity turn that would turn the rocket over, and go as sideways as possible to achieve orbit. Otherwise, if, say, all the rocket ever did was fly straight up, and not attempt to turn sideways to establish a stable orbit, then even if the rocket would have enough delta-V to theoretically be capable of reaching orbit, and even though the rocket, and its payload, would stay in space for a while (perhaps due to going in a very high ballistic orbit), it'll all eventually fall back down to Earth... yet again.
- 15. Making sure that your rocket is aerodynamically smooth enough to be able to minimize drag by, say, having nose cones on its radially attached boosters and fuel tanks, and either concealing any non-aerodynamic payloads within protective fairings that can be discarded when out of the atmosphere, or tucking them away within an aerodynamic cargo bay (such as the one found within a space shuttle). Otherwise, all that unnecessary atmospheric drag may act as an unnecessary drain on your rocket's delta-V, potentially preventing the payload from reaching orbit.
- 16. Making sure that the upper stage delivery vehicle has a means of turning in place while in the vacuum of space, such as RCS thrusters with enough fuel for them (such as monopropellent in Kerbal Space Program terms, which I believe would be hydrazine in real life). That, or some really strong reaction wheels. Otherwise, after having spent most of its delta-V to nearly establish a stable orbit around the Earth, the upper stage might not have the means to reorient itself in space, and may end up falling back to Earth before having the chance to finish establishing a circular orbit.
- 17. Making sure that, once the payload is finally in orbit, the upper stage has enough delta-V left to deorbit itself, along with the reentry vehicle, back into the Earth's atmosphere. Otherwise, Mario would be stuck in orbit, and would eventually suffocate to death. That, or he'd try to use his EVA pack to jetpack his way back down into the atmosphere without his reentry vehicle, only to then burn up on reentry.
- 18. Making sure that the reentry vehicle has a heat shield with enough ablative material to be able to survive the heat generated from reentry back into the Earth's atmosphere.
- 19. Making sure that the reentry vehicle is aerodynamically balanced, so that it can keep its heat shield pointed towards the direction of velocity, thus exposing nothing but the heat shield to the rigors of atmospheric reentry, or else the reentry vehicle may end up flipping over, and getting exposed to the reentry plasma, potentially causing the reentry vehicle to melt and break apart.
- 20. Finally, making sure that the reentry vehicle has enough parachutes to be able to make a safe landing back on the surface of Earth.
clearly we need a mario vs the comments video as an idea that would be neat. we suggest random things and you come up with how it screws up mario or deals with it easily
