- Larix Laricina o Tamarack. Un larice americano tipico delle regioni del nord degli Stati Uniti e del Canada. Normalmente questo tipo di pianta cresce nelle paludi con molta acqua ed un terreno molto acido. In queste zone il vento è molto forte e per questo motivo e per la neve questo tipo di pianta assume movimenti così contorti e unici. I larici sono alberi che amano il freddo e quando vengono coltivati in vaso Bonsai dobbiamo stare attenti che l’apparato radicale non si surriscaldi nel periodo estivo altrimenti la pianta potrebbe soffrire o addirittura morire. Questa pianta in particolare ha del legno secco incredibile dovuto alle condizioni climatiche in cui viveva ed il tronco è estremamente contorto. Una caratteristica unica che mai avevo visto in un larice. Oggi ristilizzeremo questa pianta cercando di metterne in evidenza tutte le sue particolarità.

J’ai vu sur plusieurs l’arix en forêt des branches pliées par le poids de la neige qui deviennent racine en ce retrouvant enterrées. Je pence que c’est ce qui c’est produit sur l’épaule de cet arbre...
Amazing tree! Really love it! One question, why would you cut off those ground layer roots in the future? Personally I think they add a certain "something" to the tree... i.e. unusual and unexpected... thanks for sharing this tree transformation! :)

Wow. Lovely tree. I'm trying to work out your reason for cutting away the layered roots? My guess is that they stop your eyes from following the trunk... 🤷♂️
