That is a gopher snake and is non-venomous. It is a good snake to have around your property or campsite, they dine on rodents and other pests. They will also eat other snakes including rattlesnakes.
The gopher snake is commonly misidentified as a rattlesnake because of its markings and defensive behavior. It will shake it's tail as a warning but it does not have a rattle.
It isn't a king snake because it doesn't have the banding for it's color pattern.

Brings back memories of the 80's and the Red Rock Canyon trips. We'd go out once a month to Red Rock and explored all these areas including the hil climbs in Jawbone Cayon. Also drove all the way to the top of a mountain so we could look down on Lake Isabella. We also visited a mine, but I don't think it was this one. In those days we road dirt bikes and dune buggies. Those were the vehicles of choice back then. Things have changed with the ability to video tape and fly drones. Thanks for the memories!!

Nice video man, you need a windshield for the x3 , some mud guards and some half doors for the canam. I really enjoy the drone footage.

And the “sketchy little cave with little stairs” would be a storage for explosives. 😂 very cool place

That would be what we call a gopher snake, super calm, non venomous, great pet actually. I’m from right down the hill in ridgecrest been to this area hundreds of times

I grew up in Cantil in the 80’s- used to play at Jawbone canyon and Red Rock all the time-
The snake was a Gopher Snake from what I could tell.

We have been there... nice outing. All that water could have been injected into the Ridgecrest aquifer...😢

Not a sketchy little cave, with little person ladder, those were blasting cap shelves and that is the dynamite storage room

The yellow thing up at the mine was an air compressor for the mine.

The hole y’all used the fishing pole for only goes about 15-20 feet down. Me and my girlfriend spotted a rattlesnake down at the bottom. Sorry I’m commenting as I’m watching lol

What Drone are you using? Skydio? DJI mini pro 4? It has some great follow-me features. Are you flying the drone while driving?

Just recently found your channel… absolutely love it. I have camped in jawbone for years; but I am interested to know where you camped in this video? I have never been to Nadeau mine, but now am inspired to go. But I would be interested in camping closer to it than Jawbone Canyon Rd. Let me know if you don’t mind. Thank you.

Absolutely! We camped at: 35.46070, -117.99929
(full cell reception, completely remote & the best star gazing on clear nights!)

I would sub, but there are so many other channels that I follow, that don't include vulgar and offensive language.
