Is that the fault of the game, fundamentally???

I like how he blames the game but most of the times the reason he fails is because he tries to rush his way out.. If you are not familiar or too slow to learn game machanics don't try to speedrun it. Older GTA games are really unforgivable if you don't listen what they tell you... So, don't blame the game, blame yourself. Yes, GTA 3 has its flaws and that's why it makes a great and challenging game. Newer GTA games don't really have challenging moments.
Matts played so much gta v it has skewed his views on any other game. Good lord so much whining hes not paying attention to whats in front of him. Incessantly oblivious.
And at 1:54:25 his little ramble there proves the real problem he has with it: he's not good at it instantly. Also "i'm playing through it, like any casual would, thus i'm proof what you're saying is wrong" not even slightly true. It's been proven casuals don't focus on missions often in games, in a three hour gaming session the might finish one mission in an open world game, solely because they spend the majority of that time wandering around exploring. Mission-oriented gameplay is more a focus of the hardcore market, which is why open world games have became oversaturated and popularized to such a heavy degree, while linear titles have to be massive spectacles to draw in the casual audience. statistically speaking, if you were playing this casually, you'd be averaging one mission every three hours.
25:20 all that rant about the mission being not lenient about the time and make it with 30 seconds to spare lmao matto plus with all the crashing and wrong way driving you could drive to the dot with a slow ass car and still make it.
The best/worst part (depending on your perspective) is that if he had spent a little more time actually trying to learn the city around him as he drove around he probably would've noticed the subway train.... which will take you right to the airport and dodge both the bridges and the tunnel.
Man i only played this once but just watching your playthrough made me memorize most of the map. How hard was it to remember east from the center of the park to Ammu Nation. You were just getting cross with the game. Its so much easier to learn a small map like this or vice city over GTA 5/san andreas. Also isn't there any mod for adding the map? Or atleast you could have opened it along side the chat.
When I was 13 or 14 I would to watch GTA V videos on my dads iPad, and I distinctly remember the GTA V intro DarkViper AU in GTA V style maybe this was a bit late. Played lot of GTA 3 , Vice City and san andreas our family desktop thanks to my brothers.
Am I supposed to turn there? Theres no indication you're supposed to turn off there? Except the fact the objective is in that direction and the signs say airport left, and the mission tells you the guy needs to go to the airport. I love matto but it seems like he's ignoring everything the game tells you on purpose and then blames the game. Sure, the game would have been better with a map, but no gta game had a map yet, that hadn't been done until vice city. That's part of the charm of this game, learning the layout. The third island is a little confusing, but it's the simplest 3d layout we've had.
It was the only usable asset as the GTA 3 helicopters don't have an interior and look much worse. I'm shocked at how many people seem to have caught this oddity and not just see the thumbnail for what it's trying to be. -Phoenix (Channel Editor)

@@SoAaron_ Oh no you misunderstand me, you have nothing to be sorry for. I just find it interesting how many people seem to have recognised that the helicopter is from a different GTA game as, despite me playing the older games a ton, I would not be able to recognise which helicopter is from while game. It's not one of those details that I really pay attention to in those games. So I'm shocked that so many others seem to have.
I feel like to enjoy GTA 3, you can't play like your playing other GTA games. It takes time to get used to the unique mechanics. It can be frustrating at first but gets easier
I completely understand and agree with all of Matt's frustrations with this game, well most of them that is. But it's so funny seeing him complaining about everything and missing things that are directly Infront of his face 5 times in a row. But those 2 guys trying to defend absolutely everything about this game, Pseol and Comic I think it was, are so blinded by nostalgia because they remember it from playing as a kid that they now see it as still being that incredible game and not see and understand all the flaws that are in this game regardless of how it actually is a good game
Yeahhh no you breezed through it. Took no time to learn the map just mindlessly playing but, a casual type of player, cause others have learned and were more casual about the game lol I love watching you play Matt so good
His first playthrough of GTA Vice City is already available on the channel, it's one of the first things to come out on the channel :) -Phoenix (VOD Editor)
it's amazing just how little care he bothered to put forth in progression, including just outright disregarding important details, ignoring dialogue, and not even bothering to learn the map (some of which, are skills as a speedrunner, should be somewhat normal for him to do, such as remembering points of interest). And then proceeds to constantly complain, and even in some situations, outright claimed a mission that, if played right, involves very little concern, was actually impossible unless you've already played it a few times through to learn it... Really was a game he should've took a step back from, started fresh, and realized that it was him, not the game, or the developers at fault. It also kinda calls into question his own videos on the topic, such as his complaints about the highly restrictive manner of gtaV missions, when gta3 and others were a bit more leanient, and their leanience are part of why he keeps failing. It comes off almost as if the rules were put there because of people like him in the first place. Kind of reminds me about how egoraptor kept whining that OOT and other zelda games hold your hand too much, but then when he and his friends decided to play through them, he just complained the entire time about how the game won't let him win by doing something completely unrelated to the actual objective, and in some cases he outright couldn't understand the puzzles in the 'hand holding' LOZ games.
I’ve never seen someone so clueless before and then blames the game the whole time. Matt bro this game is not that hard 🤦♂️ gta 3 is a masterpiece 💯 it’s definitely a skill issue 😅
This games map is really not that big. If Matt had approached the game less negatively, had done some sidequests to better learn the map & basic mechanics he would have had a much better experience. Even in the first few minutes of the first episode it felt like he would rather be playing anything else.
IMO the game is poorly sign posted. Even bridges that should act a major landmarks tend to be samey. Would it have killed them to put a sign up with the name of the bridge?
I completely agree with this, and I had the same issue myself many times in my 4 playthroughs of the game, each time I went back to it I've had this issue. Yet people in the comments are quick to say Matt lacks a sense of direction, I disagree with that. I think you've put my feelings towards this games the best in words than I ever have.
At this point I am wondering if this guy is actually some GTA 5 record breaker when he doesn’t even pay attention to anything in GTA3 and whined about things that aren’t really a problem. This drives the same wrong path looking for something, and expecting the same wrong path would bring him there. Lol, How could he have such a bad sense of direction? In a previous video, this guy saw the 3rd island bridge to his right... He saw it and confirmed that he saw it, but instead of going to the bridge, he drove straight ahead and got lost again. I wonder when he started playing video games.
Being good at a modern game with modern controls and features is completely different that playing a 20+ year old game for the first time. Also practicing strategies for a speed run and getting hundreds of hours of practice for completing the game quickly is not really comparable. Even the world record holder of Mario 64 would struggle playing the original Super Mario. Nothing Matt said about the game's mechanics is wrong, the game aged extremely poorly. I've played through GTA 3, three times and 100% it three times and that's between PC, the original PS2 version ported on PS4 and the Definitive Edition. GTA 3 is literally the worst of the original 3D trilogy.
@@10ua1 it was the first time going 3D so obviously it is going to be the worse. Also, Matt has no sense of direction. How is it that driving around the same places over and over again is going to get him to where he want to go? In one of the video, the guy saw the bridge to his right, and instead of turning right he head straight, got lost again then started complaining. He’s been to an area multiple times and yet he gets lost trying to find the same area again. Even though there is no in game map other than the minimap, it is easy to memorize places in GTA 3.
@@rambii. I can't really blame him for having a bad sense of direction in this game, I too sometimes struggled with figuring out where to go. Unlike in Vice City or San Andreas where I didn't have that issue. The fact that it's the first 3D GTA game doesn't excuse that it aged poorly. It doesn't then move all its issues to user error. (Not that you said that, but I'm saying that as a general statement) Watching Matt's Vice City play through he didn't have as big of an issue with navigation as he did here. As for the bridge thing, I don't remember that part of the VOD so I can't really comment on it, but I'm certain at some point you yourself missed something that others would think is extremely obvious.
@@CouldaWouldaShoulda Think of it like this, a 9 year old learning something vs someone fighting 10,000 hours of muscle memory from a modern game that controls and is designed far differently.

Yes, GTA 3 has its flaws and that's why it makes a great and challenging game. Newer GTA games don't really have challenging moments.
watching this series increased my pain resistance by 100%
but seriously though, I'm sure most people don't even finish this game so congrats
Just use cheats ;d and you good ... Although even with cheats some missions are hard.
25:08 Is Matt just a bad player after all? Complained about how "the schedule is tight" for two parts, but still there was more than 30 seconds left🤷
59:29 I don't believe this explanation though because 57:54 drove past a very familiar landmark
So he doesn't ever try kingdom come? Thats all I wanted to watch lol
I love how he takes two videos to beat vice city and four videos to beat gta3
He gave up on Vice City though...
Since making this comment I replayed GTA:VC myself. And I too gave up. I just couldn't get past that final mission and ragequit/uninstalled. 😄
25:20 all that rant about the mission being not lenient about the time and make it with 30 seconds to spare lmao matto plus with all the crashing and wrong way driving you could drive to the dot with a slow ass car and still make it.
The best/worst part (depending on your perspective) is that if he had spent a little more time actually trying to learn the city around him as he drove around he probably would've noticed the subway train.... which will take you right to the airport and dodge both the bridges and the tunnel.
me at 2:38:00 when he didn't shoot Maria "he's beginning to believe"
Matto playing GTA3 or, how civilised people would call it, DenseMF% 😂
Man i only played this once but just watching your playthrough made me memorize most of the map.
How hard was it to remember east from the center of the park to Ammu Nation. You were just getting cross with the game. Its so much easier to learn a small map like this or vice city over GTA 5/san andreas.
Also isn't there any mod for adding the map? Or atleast you could have opened it along side the chat.
If he's a speedrunner, then I'm the king of the world
Well you proved me wrong and finished this game. Cool!
I am not very fortunate so the only game I had was GTA3 (This was mid 2020) and it's fun to see big gamers play it.
i fucking love gta 3 because of how chaotic it is but i completely understand matt's frustration with it and actually kinda agree with his points
1:05:07 Thats the Damage from the guys standing there not the truck guys
can anyone do a compilation of matt imitating gta 3’s ‘run over a pedestrian’ sound effect lol
Why is Catalina in a VCPD helicopter in the thumbnail? That makes no sense lol
It was the only usable asset as the GTA 3 helicopters don't have an interior and look much worse. I'm shocked at how many people seem to have caught this oddity and not just see the thumbnail for what it's trying to be. -Phoenix (Channel Editor)
@@phoenixdesigns7785 Yeah I'm sorry, its certainly a great thumbnail, looks very cool. Sorry for just pointing out the problen and not appreciating how good it is.
@@phoenixdesigns7785 Vice City has the most unique police with them being green and white, whilst 3 and SA are both black and white
It’s the end of a era
Really love the Vice City Easter egg in the thumbnail ❤
I feel like to enjoy GTA 3, you can't play like your playing other GTA games. It takes time to get used to the unique mechanics. It can be frustrating at first but gets easier
You need a fast car to beat the race
I completely understand and agree with all of Matt's frustrations with this game, well most of them that is. But it's so funny seeing him complaining about everything and missing things that are directly Infront of his face 5 times in a row. But those 2 guys trying to defend absolutely everything about this game, Pseol and Comic I think it was, are so blinded by nostalgia because they remember it from playing as a kid that they now see it as still being that incredible game and not see and understand all the flaws that are in this game regardless of how it actually is a good game
2:23:32 "Try get me now bitch"
Yeahhh no you breezed through it. Took no time to learn the map just mindlessly playing but, a casual type of player, cause others have learned and were more casual about the game lol I love watching you play Matt so good
W SERIES
This game when it first came out was amazing for the time..
Funny to see how Matt complaining about the game, and after few second says he enjoys the game
Can't wait till vice city vods come out
His first playthrough of GTA Vice City is already available on the channel, it's one of the first things to come out on the channel :) -Phoenix (VOD Editor)
Oh, I see, ty man
it's amazing just how little care he bothered to put forth in progression, including just outright disregarding important details, ignoring dialogue, and not even bothering to learn the map (some of which, are skills as a speedrunner, should be somewhat normal for him to do, such as remembering points of interest).
Rockstar might not exist if this GTA3 wasn't a good game......you have to remember that the competition was tough Driver vs GTA and in the end GTA won
I told you when you start the mission with Ray to take him across the bridge and take him to the Francisch International Airport.
You don't take him across the bridge, because the hitmen shoot and destroy you on arrival.
This games map is really not that big. If Matt had approached the game less negatively, had done some sidequests to better learn the map & basic mechanics he would have had a much better experience. Even in the first few minutes of the first episode it felt like he would rather be playing anything else.
maybe he’ll go into gta6 with the same mindset
@@CouldaWouldaShoulda Ok? You say that like his speedrunning skill from 10,000 hours of a modern game should reflect in a buggy 2002 game.
@@CouldaWouldaShoulda Think of it like this, a 9 year old learning something vs someone fighting 10,000 hours of muscle memory from a modern game that controls and is designed far differently.
😁👉 Love how Matto complain since he unlocked last mission that game require you to grind for money, yet he spent like half a mil for weapons "1000 times" which he lost in "2 seconds". 😁👍 At least he aknowledged that.
Love how he complain that he have to drive aaallll the waaay back, but never use quicksave feature so he can load and teleport (and also save weapons if he screw up).
I don't find this game hard at all...maybe I am used to games like that, but this is one of the funniest lamest gameplays I wanted to see on this channel. 😎👌
Ok i cant take this play style anymore. Have fun already and stop playing it as fast as you can skipping stuff. Ok I'm watching someone that actually enjoys the game and plays it like you should. broughy1332
This is the most complaining I have ever seen crammed into 2hrs 42mins. 😂😂
You need to take Ray across the bridge and take him to the airport
