There is definetly something magical about this song. I was asleep with the tv on one night. This song was playing on the tv, and it woke me out of a deep sleep, and its message is so powerful, that it can almost bring me to tears. All of this without any Lyrics....music trully is an inspirational and powerful tool. It reaches places within my soul that remain hidden and mysteriously unknown even to myself.
Saturday the 19th of January at 9pm (italian time) on my TH-cam channel, I will play for you live from home for one hour alone with my piano some of the music from my new album In a Time Lapse. With Love. Ludovico
I can't put into words how this makes me feel. If you close your eyes it's as though you can be away from the chains of every day life though. Beautiful.
Grazie Ludovico.
This has to be my favourite of all your songs. I listen to it and it gives me a breathless feeling. Like when you are kissed by your special someone and you are lost in a moment filled with every emotion you can imagine. You loose yourself, and some how feel completely whole. I cannot wait to see you on the 20th of April!
Ludovico Einaudi helped me in passing all the class tests. I use to listen him everytime. He helped me when I had a breakup. he helped me when I was completely broken into pieces.. I
I guess, Oltremare is far one of the best piano pieces that I've heard so far. Keep calm, I heard some. But this is so touching. There is something between the notes you can't describe, but fills the whole piece with spirit.
I walk at the street thinking of life, when suddenly i get hit by a bus. my life flashes in front of my eyes and there's a lot of light. there is St. petrus who gives me entry to heaven, i walk in and here this song, and i know its real :)
Finding this song rare is very difficult. thanks for the upload friend. Sat and listened to this with headphones on with my morning coffee and burst out crying around the 5:50 mark. Neither in sadness or happiness. . .just emotions.
I guess it is only fair to say that those who haven't yet felt this Crescendo are depriving them self to Be Emotionally developed, that does not mean it is going to come to them in a silver platter.A talented form of engineering Mr Ludovico Einaudi. Keep up the Good Work in Trail Blazing!
I saw this air on the Classic Arts Channel on Dish Network in the Poconos this past weekend. I was so moved that I was virtually in tears. In the peaceful and serene woods of the Pocono mountains this song struck a big time nerve with me and I am truly amazed at how beautiful this song is. Perfection (UPDATE 6/5/19) and now 10 years later on 6/4/19, I finally saw Ludovico Einaudi play live at Carnegie Hall. While Oltremare was not played despite my desperate begging on all of Ludovico's social media and youtube channel, lol, the performances were memorable with standing ovations throughout. All those same feelings I had all those years ago when I heard this music for the first time came rushing back like they always do when I listen to Ludovico Einaudi's musical art. Anyone who can, please go see this magical performer live if his current or future tour(s) pass through your region. It is a must!
two dislikes out of 380 is very small, but I'm still surprised this video has more than one dislike, because lets be honest, there is always that PRAT out there that will dislike a truly beautiful song, because their brain capacity doesn't span far enough to accommodate such wonderful melodies. They do it just to annoy people like me. Well done, it does annoy me.
Mr. Einaudi, I want you to know that I play guitar to this all the time. It almost instantly brings me to the state of pure effortless improv.. if you believe in such magic or not I don't know... Amazing my friend! We exist to create and enjoy works such as this!
to Mr. Einaudi: listening to your style of playing hits home with me. i play guitar and the way you comprise notes feels and sounds very similar to the way i play. i cant get enough.
I first heard this song while watching the Arts channel, one of the only channels my in laws could get when they first moved into a vacation house in the Pocono mountains in 2007. There in the serene surroundings I stumbled onto this exact version. It made an emotional impact on me that stays with me to this day. I begged and begged on here and on your social media to hear it played live at your recent (pre-covid) live performance in Carnegie Hall in NYC. It did not happen sadly but now Oltremare was used in the Best Picture Oscar winner Nomadland. When you resume touring hopefully after Covid wanes, I will be there to hope you play it live since it is now very recognizable thanks to Nomadland.
I love the part from 6:23 and onwards, it's just something about that part of the piece that just brings me goosebumps... I love all of Ludovico Einaudi's work, it's a dream to listen to!
I just ordered one of his cds from Amazon. I recently discovered this music, and I haven't been so affected by music as I am by this, since Deuter. It just pulls me in and wraps around me like a warm embrace, and I feel safe.
All of your music truly resonate with the heart & soul, very rare in today's world. I hope one day I'll be able to go see you perform live, and I hope soon~ Blessings-
Can anybody tell me what the chord progression is in the central part of the video where Ludovico goes to the lower register, I've been trying to work out the order of the chords but clearly not getting far. I'm learning this piece and love this new part he added
Another new fan who discovered him on the Classic Arts Channel which is thankfully on cable basic. Now I'm trying to find his cd's online. I'm amazed his work is not used in more soundtracks given the dynamic emotion of his pieces.
Sometimes I put in my ipod, and sit down at my babygrand and I play along with him. I don't compare..of course.. but it almost makes me cry that we can play together...
@bam987466 : Play around with basic chords and you will find most of his music, he rarely ventures out of basic patterns and with practice, you can master his music. You won't find the sheets for this (especially 3:40 onwards) Once you find the chords (usually 3-4 per piece) just practice with them - get the bass down first and then play around with the melody....
I play a lot of Ludovico's stuff and this and Nuvole Bianche is my favourite to play! So beautiful and challenging enough to make it special when its done :) You are AMAZING and I am so looking forward to seeing you in Toronto in April!

This deserves 1b views..not today's crap

@Aden Dexter No one cares about your hacking. I The music is more interesting.
I can't put into words how this makes me feel.
If you close your eyes it's as though you can be away from the chains of every day life though.

Stunning. Speechless. Beautiful. Romantic. Touched. Emoted. Gorgeous. Lovely. Heartfelt. Gosh, i've run out of adjectives and all ... I LOVE THIS !!!
I wish I could play the piano this good, If I keep it up hopefully I will one day

This really is the most impressive piece of music I have ever heard.
I guess, Oltremare is far one of the best piano pieces that I've heard so far. Keep calm, I heard some. But this is so touching. There is something between the notes you can't describe, but fills the whole piece with spirit.
Its one of the hardest pieces composed by Ludovico... and its by far my favourite because of the number of emotions expressed in this :)
Agree. Have you ever heard George Winston: Autumn - Album ?
This is the best version and variation of this song in my opinion.
Absolutely Perfect 👌🏻🍻
Toda una Obra de Arte, Gracias. "Un lavoro d'arte"
Yes. I adore him! By listening to his music every night, i'm rejuvenated in the morning. Ludovico is the reflection of my soul.

I prefer this version more than the full one, since I heard this live execution first.
God whispers to your ears and we must conform us listening his message through your Music.
Thank you.
I'm proud because Ludovico and I'm from same planet!
After hitting just one single note on a piano, this man can bring people to another dimension.
This makes me proud to be italian ;)
