- When Elon Musk released the cybertruck in 2019, it was HUGE Tesla News. The world went crazy for this new electric pickup truck that stood out from the norm. But TSLA has taken a long time to deliver this truck to their deposit holders. Now in 2023, we've finally seen some positive news from Tesla. The giga factory has been upgraded to produce these mecha trucks, and we can finally see where they will be created.
It looks like it was designed by someone who never took calculus, but does own a ruler.
Take a sip for everytime he says "7 billion dollar factory".
I'm surprised he didn't put "shocked entire industry" in the title.

I was really excited to see that huge factory and all the latest generation technology working to build these magnificent cars.

My dream Cybertruck configuration would have 8 removable modular units of LFP chemistry that each function as a 1/2 capacity Powerwall. This would allow owners to be able to offload ~ 56 kWh of battery, all together over 1,000 pounds worth, so their truck could do light duty work without all that dead weight for most of their day to day use. When making long trips, or medium towing trips, etc which are edge case needs for most, only ~5% of their truck's use, owner's Cybertruck would still have their back.
These would have a manageable weight so a single person could dolly them around their property to set them up for home use, and preferably monetize them in a grid servicing virtual power plant setup. Just stating the obvious, batteries have a significant ecological footprint built into their material and manufacture, and should be available to be optimally used to help our grid more quickly transition to renewable generation.
These eight half capacity power packs would give the Cybertruck owner great flexibility to use and make money with their battery assets as they choose. They could be shared around strengthening our community and allowing those who struggle to afford the 500+ mile Cybertruck to borrow-up when circumstances require a temporary upgrade. Trucks need suspensions made to handle variable loads anyway, so adding this to the suspension's lower end is just a doable part of the engineering challenge of enabling these plug and play removable battery modules to be incorporated into the overall battery pack.
Giving consumers this flexibility would be a huge driver of increased demand for this Cybertruck, leaping over the F-150's vehicle to load innovations. If Tesla's goal is to accelerate our sustainable transition and to give us increased resilience against climate disruptions this seems like a no brainer, worthy of the extra engineering challenges.
No one wants to mess with that shit. Tesla is iPhone.

How many people work in each plant compared to GM or Ford. What is their human resource load per dollar turned?

For a car that has almost 2M pre-orders today, this is worth it.
I have suggested to Elon before on a tweet that Canada would also be another great place to build a Gigafactory on the Great Lakes and be able to ship across Canada and outward down the St Lawrence. This Gigafactory could be producing much needed additional batteries for Tesla. A Semi Truck Line, Cybertrucks and other accessories including solar panels to charge these batteries could be built here. The truck market is huge across Canada and many of the raw resources are here to put into building batteries, etc. Drone ships like the ones used to catch the boosters and fairings for SpaceX could be used insink, linked with each other to transport large amounts of Tesla's throughout the area. The nice thing about shipping through water ways is that you are not congesting traffic. Shipping could be faster, cheaper and safer. Isn't it funny after they talked to Canadian political officials there is still nothing on the board to be built here in Canada ! I have many innovative business ideas I come up with regularly that can help existing situations, whether it be financially, physically, or through faster delivery procedures. Sometimes the ground breaking ideas just flow and flow into each other. I just had three more Amazing Ideas while I was writing this comment! Innovative people with integrity expect to be believed otherwise they let time prove them right!
Not sure Tesla's non unionized labour force culture would fly in Canada.
The batteries are temperature sensitive. If you try to charge a lithium battery when it is below 0c you would ruin it.
I've worked for many non-union jobs in Canada and I know for start-up businesses it is the best way to go. It gives the business a chance to start covering the expense of building here in Canada. And with Tesla it gives the employees at chance to earn more shares in the company instead of having to pay that money out to union dues.
All Tesla's come with heaters for the batteries and you just notify your car before you charge it and the heaters warm up the batteries so you can give it a charge. There are also many other batteries that are being worked on especially here in Canada that are non lithium fast charging and long-lasting.

I noticed ALOT of car companies building plants n moving to states with low taxes no income tax but the states with the highest taxes like Illinois New York California have the highest crime homelessness poor infrastructure etc but states with low taxes are booming good roads schools infrastructure etc

They don't claim the windows are bullet proof, they only claim the cold rolled stainless steel door and body panels can "stop a bullet from a handgun". They just said the windows were super tough and never claimed they were bulletproof.

I'm still waiting for the roadster.....The Cybertruck isn't my cup of tea but I can imagine many will love it for various reasons. The Semi will no doubt cause a huge stir and could lead Tesla to dominate that market because it's practical.

The fastest truck makers right now only put out about 6 Semi truck a week! That's it! Of course the Tesla SEMI going to kick the living crap out of that number!* *And, FYI the Tesla SEMI is already sold out for years to come when they are hitting nearly 1,000 Tesla SEMI a week pace in 2024!* *And, it's only going to keep growing from there.*

If anything i predict maybe 1,000 to 5,000 being extremely generous. Fright liner makes 190,000 semi trucks a year… there owned by Daimler year over year they increase there cashflow by 129% they make over 176 billion a year in sales tesla only made about 95 billion there double😂 this is just one truck company theres many more

The gigga factory is crazy and the cyber truck is also just as crazy, BUT I’m not gonna lie I wish Tesla would develop vehicles faster because buy the time they come out into manufacturing years later it’s almost a oh hum thing buy that time they send them out

You're clearly not seeing all the excitement when people are finally getting Tesla's in their country, this despite the Tesla having been out for years.* *And, I don't know where the heck you were when the Tesla SEMI finally launched 7 years later, being delivered to PEPSI, that is. Every magazine and media in the world was talking about it! And, right now everyone snapping picture of them when they see them on the road and posting it.
