4:17 I like the ingenuity of using the metal drum as a tipping bucket for loading. I grew up like that, making stuff I needed out of anything that came to hand. I can't help feeling people these days are becoming less able to improvise, and more dependent on buying things ready-made.
Does anyone have pics or anything about Crawley Island? My Grandmother is a Murphy, from 1 of the first 5 families on Crawley island. I never got to meet her, my Grandparents moved the family from Long Harbour to Nova Scotia, and she died when my Mother was 5. I’d give almost anything to learn more about her, and to know my Great Grandfather Michael Murphy and my Great Great Grandfather Patrick Murphy that came from Wexford Ireland.. I love Newfoundland!❤️ I’m not well enough to travel there. But it would really be wonderful to know anything about them.
