@@splinter360 I was going to say this. Not watched any in decades, but the top British soaps all had superb acting, once upon a time. But, to be fair, that's pretty much the way of it now. it's the same with movies. It's only a matter of time before there are CGI scenes in stuff like Eastenders.

The lack of swearing in these soaps is laughable, it’s so untrue to real life.
I know it’s a pre-watershed production, but still.
I remember once, Phil Mitchell was going to “sort someone out”, he was raging, red in the face, veins bulging on his neck, he was heavily intoxicated and he went hell for leather across Albert Square carrying a golf club.
He kicked down someone’s door, burst in and grabbed the guy (I forget who it was) by his shirt and said “Oi! What’s your game?! I’m going to shove this golf club right up your backside”

Mate I said this before, no swearing makes it almost laughable, it should be shown after 9 in order to make it more gritty, in my opinion it should look like the film Nil By Mouth by Gary Oldman, racism, rape, violence, abuse, alcoholism, knife crime, gangs and bad language its should all be on display because that's really life in London (unless you live in Mayfair)

This Grant return was such a massive letdown. Never thought I'd see the day when this show had fallen so far that even a Grant Mitchell return is a big disappointment. The only thing I liked about his 2016 returns was his interactions with Peggy & his putting the frighteners on those hipster guys in the Vic which reminded me of the good old days of Grant running the Vic.

It wasn’t terrible but I’d use the same words as a massive letdown they had so much potential they could of used with grant but they didn’t I’d of liked him to of had a fight with mick and maybe even try to take the vic of him but instead we got a punch on Ian Beale who let’s be real everyone beats Ian but there were some things I did like which are his scenes with Peggy and Phil also him and Belinda I think they would of made a great couple also him threatening the hipster people.
@Snake 22 It's been declining since that year for sure, that's what I've always said. I don't think it was completely terrible though until around 2011 & it just got worse by the year. I say that because I thought Archie was a brilliant character & a rare highnote in the post-2006 era.
