My doll has been in storage since 1960-something. She was left in storage from the last time I played with her as a child. Her hair is a ratty mess, she has "cateracts", dry rotted panties, and no shoes. Her original orange dress is surprisingly in decent shape. Her ponytail is in a braid, and has been for a very long time, so I am sure I will need the straightener! So between the braided pony and the ratty base hair, I really need help! Your video is giving me a jumping off point, so I am going to try. Thanks for the detailed video. I think it will be extremely helpful.
I have done this on my Crissy, Kelly, and Velvet dolls and I have had success every time on the tails. Don't forget it DOESN'T WORK FOR HEAD HAIR! It will melt!
I had a Velvet doll whose hair was stuck and would not roll. I got the head off and got the hair untangled. Now I can't get the head back onto the larger Loooong Neck. I tried heading the rim of the doll head and also the hard plastic top of the neck, but the head hole will not go back onto the much larger hard plastic neck. Can anyone tell me how to get the head back on the neck and also get it back down where it should be? Thank you.
Dawn Connelly Here is a suggestion, not trying to be perverted or anything, but I think this might work. I would get some like KY lube, and rub the lube all the way around, about 1/2 inch down the top of the neck-cone, and also the inner edge/rim of the neck hole, on the head. Then try sliding the head back onto the neck-cone, starting with one side of the neck-cone first. I think that might work? Keep us posted & let us know if this worked for you. The lube is water soluble, so it should clean off with water easily. Good luck

What do you do to their hair? Is really shiny I've tried this with African American Crissy and it worked but in Velvet kinda work.
Hi there!
Very interesting.
Would this work on the regular CRISSY that has the brownette/lighter brown-auburn hair color?

Just discovered your video so love it! would like to know if you are using original Crissy hair that came with the doll or replacements? Thanks ;-)
Sandy Lowe I'm pretty positive that he is using original CRISSY growing ponytails. Just thought I would reply to your comment.
Replacement tail. Original is synthetic.
