I'm glad that you mentioned The Fall of The House of Usher. I have been hoping yourself and Jeremy Jahns would do a review of this series, I'd love to hear what you guys and Chris Stuckman talk about and discuss and share opinions etc
I just watched Dutch (1991) the other night. I remember seeing it in the theater at about 10-11 years old with my family. Then I saw it a few more times on cable. Then I didn’t see it again for another 25 years. I might have caught it sometime around 2017 but the other night was my most recent watch. In 1991, Al and Kelly Bundy both starred in movies that aged well. Christina was in the OG Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead which also aged well. It made Christina not some dumb blonde but someone being responsible and motherly to her siblings. Ed would make cameo appearances in the Wayne’s World films. Katey Sagal ended up with the most successful career between the MWC cast. Post-MWC, she’s found in far more TV projects. I adore Dutch. Cody didn’t list Due Date (2010) but it would be too redundant since it’s basically Todd Phillip’s inferior version of Planes, Trains… and Cody already listed Midnight Run. To put three road trip movies with two guys not getting along would be too redundant. Obviously, Planes, Trains and Automobiles is the GOAT Thanksgiving movie and should always be a staple the way Home Alone is for our generations (Gen X, Xennials, Millennials). John Hughes knows how to write them. Two awesome Thanksgiving movies in PT&A and Dutch and then writing the Home Alone movies. He’s the GOAT for writing Nov/Dec holiday movies. Will be watching Planes, Trains by tomorrow. Will rewatch Due Date again tonight.
When I was younger, my mom showed me Planes, Trains, and automobiles. It’s now a mandatory viewing in our household the night before thanksgiving. Absolutely one of my all time favorites.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is my pick: it's right in-between the two main holidays featured and as a bonus it teaches the lesson of being thankful for what you have, which is very Thanksgiving-y.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is the one and only Thanksgiving movie I watch every year. However, my favorite movie that happens to have a Thanksgiving scene is Rocky from 1976. Thanksgiving was the day Rocky and Adrian had their first date, which led to one of my absolute favorite movie romances in my all time favorite movie franchise.
Since my opinion matters above all, I was so relieved to see Planes, Trains at #1. My mind was already fueling a rant, thanks for all you do Cody, may not always agree, but happy holidays to you and your family!
The scene in Planes Trains and Automobiles where Steve Martin's character realizes what is happening and goes back to the train station. That scene and the look on Candy's face tears me up every time 😢
@Cody Between your insanity and the ideas your amazing patreons come up with I am in awe of these ideas. Hope you and your wife and family have an amazing Thanksgiving. I adore the channel and your integrity
For some reason, a movie I love to watch around Thanksgiving for me, it's "The Incredibles" I dont know, something about The Incredibles has that feeling in the movie that makes it perfect to watch around Thanksgiving for me. Maybe it's because of the family aspect in the movie that makes me associate it with the holiday. Both this and The Iron Giant I associate with Thanksgiving for some reason, but hey, that's the magic of Brad Bird
Agree with your description of PT&A 100%!!! But don’t forget Grumpy Old Men, my friend! Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon classic where they hardly went by the script. Happy Thanksgiving!!
HAHAHA! The thumbnail, Cody was hilarious! You made me laugh out loud. Thanks in advance for the list. I will be quiet and watch now. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours if you observe, I hit the like button as per usual. Congratulations on the sponsorship. You are appreciated, take care.
I also love Planes Trains & Automobiles I watched it every Thanksgiving. I’m Canadian so I watched it on Canadian Thanksgiving & on the American Thanksgiving
Cody Leach you’re my favorite TH-camr and I’ve loved watching the channel grow over the years, been a subscriber since 2017, and you got me into the horror genre, I can’t be thankful enough for your channel!
Ive said this before but Cody put me onto Dutch via his Blu ray collection video and its an underseen gem. Also like the throwing Rocky in there, good call
I've got more movies to add to my Thanksgiving tradition list! 😁 Most of your recommendations are in my list but I've also included ones such as Fantastic Mr. Fox, V For Vendetta, and Uncle Buck ❤️
Man, I can't believe it, but your top 3 is the exact same as my top 3. In the same order too. Funny side note: There's an episode of Married... With Children where they go to the video store and it's at the same time that Dutch came out. So Al is walking by these posters with his face on them, but they (badly) covered his face on the posters. It's kind of funny.
No surprise as to your top pick; not too many great explicitly-Thanksgiving-themed films out there, so one must sometimes be a little imaginative, but you made some very good choices (as usual). One film that hardly ever gets mentioned in the context of great Thanksgiving movies is Junebug (2005); if you've not seen it I recommend it heartily.
I just watched Dutch (1991) the other night. I remember seeing it in the theater at about 10-11 years old with my family. Then I saw it a few more times on cable. Planes, Trains and Automobiles is my go-to for Thanksgiving, but I think I am gonna find room for Thanksgiving from last year too. That movie really made me happy when I went to see it last year. I also do like Dutch. My wife introduced me to it, and I found it enjoyable. But I am so glad you included Scent of a Woman. I love that movie. I also think Addams Family Values deserves honorable mention for Wednesday's Thanksgiving play alone.
I think any movie about family or friends coming together at any location can be a Thanksgiving movie, so for me, Thanksgiving movies can include movies like Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, Couples Retreat, and even movies set during Christmas like Home Alone 1 & 2, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Knives Out is a good one. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is also good to watch this time of the year.
Here in Europe we never celebrate Thanksgiving. Now I’m in the US for the first time and I already hear lot’s of people talking about it. I can’t wait to see what it’s all about. Maybe I’ll celebrate with you guys!
Makes sense. Thanksgiving is a US thing, even if the story of why is complete BS. End of the day, if sharing a delicious meal and a having great time with whoever you consider family, it just may be for you. ✌️❤️
There's only one scene involving Thanksgiving but I watch Love And A Bullet every year. It does a great job capturing the feeling of everything being closed and trying to accomplish something with that going on.
Hi Cody, I wish you, your wife & kids a very Happy & healthy Thanksgiving!🍗🥧😊 I too like Planes, Trains & Automobiles, & Knives Out A lot, & I just watched Thanksgiving my 1st time a few nites ago, & I too liked but didn't love it. I'd love to see Dutch, so I'm bummed it's not streaming anywhere; If You find it on Sale somewhere, or it comes to Streaming, Please let us know, Thanks.😊
Cody how did you forget Free Birds (2013)??? It’s the movie where they go back in time to the first thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu. THATS RIGHT THEY’RE GOING BACK IN TIME TO THE FIRST THANKSGIVING TO GET TURKEYS OFF THE MENU!
At Megacon a few years back you actually suggested "Dutch" to the audience. I bought the blu-ray on eBay and am happy to announce it's a new staple in our house for November 😂
Solid list. I always watch midnight run around Christmas / thanksgiving too. I don’t know if you’ve seen it but check out tower heist. Thanksgiving movie with Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller.
I saw a showing of Planes, Trains & Automobiles at my local theatre. Practically every scene and quote by Steve Martin and the late John Candy were hitting the mark with the audience. It's a fantastic film.
So many great ones to choose from too. We watched Manos a couple years ago on Thanksgiving. That was a hit, and made some family members into new fans. 👍
Well hello Cody and all the fans, just wanted to chime in and say, I'm from NZ we don't have Thanksgiving here but...Planes Trains and automobiles for the win! Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
Gotta throw some love to Grumpy Old Men which is absolutely hilarious & heartwarming & i believe has Thanksgiving at some point. Also Grumpier Old Men just cause it's such a nice fun addition to the 1st movie.
I love Dutch! So don't misunderstand me! My only major problem is I feel like it's basically the same movie as Planes, Trains and Automobiles but with two different main characters in it. Just my opinion!
I don’t know if I’m alone but when planes trains and automobiles first came out I vividly remember the ending being Steve Martin and his wife hugging and it cutting to credits but now I watch it every year and it ends with John candy smiling. Did they add that in after John candy passed away?
A weird tradition I have on Thanksgiving is watching the movie Phantoms lol I remember renting it when I was young and watched it on a Thanksgiving and did it ever since 😂
"The Lion in Winter". If you want your family drama put into perspective, watch that movie and remember two things. First, it's based on history, this family was really like this. Second, this is a royal family squabbling, and who wins the squabble will affect millions of people. Suddenly, your annoying sister won't seem so bad.

Props to Cody for having the time and the physicality to watch three movies on Thanksgiving.
My top 5:
1. Planes, Trains, & Automobiles
2. Knives Out
3. Paul Blart: Mall Cop
4. Thanksgiving
5. Spider-Man
Great list
Don't forget "Dutch."

Classic, one of my favorites
I have been banging this drum for years. If "A Christmas Story" can be played on tbs 24 hrs on Christmas, why not, "P,T, and A" on Turkey Day?
Since my opinion matters above all, I was so relieved to see Planes, Trains at #1. My mind was already fueling a rant, thanks for all you do Cody, may not always agree, but happy holidays to you and your family!
The scene in Planes Trains and Automobiles where Steve Martin's character realizes what is happening and goes back to the train station. That scene and the look on Candy's face tears me up every time 😢
What About That Movie where two chickens go back in time to the first Thanksgiving To Take Turkeys Off The Menu?
Oh Wait, Wrong Channel.
A fellow schaffrillas fan I see
16:02 Dutch is the gold statement in Thanksgiving..
@Cody Between your insanity and the ideas your amazing patreons come up with I am in awe of these ideas. Hope you and your wife and family have an amazing Thanksgiving. I adore the channel and your integrity

I think Incredibles was released around Thanksgiving back in ‘04
You adding Four Brothers is a MASSIVE W. One of my ALL TIME favorite movies 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏽
Agree with your description of PT&A 100%!!! But don’t forget Grumpy Old Men, my friend! Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon classic where they hardly went by the script.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
One of my favorite movies

Dutch is so underrated. My dad and I watch it every year!
Four Brothers has always been a favorite of mine, glad to see it on the list.
Dutch us on tubi.. bubba. Happy Thanksgiving...keep on rocken my brotha.
Oh awesome!! Thanks for letting us know.
Is it the same movie? I found one on Tubi but it's from 2020.
Dutch is not on Tubi. I can't find it streaming anywhere

The hate towards Dane Cook as an actor was undeserved. Employee of the Month holds up surprisingly well. "This is an 81 Honda! How dare you!?"
Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Such a great movie. One of John Candy's best.
Happy Thanksgiving, Cody!!!!
I adored Four Brothers as a kid, I would love to revisit it now
Thanks for the vid Cody. Love your rankings/list videos.
Two in one week no less! Cheers from Nick S
@@nickseason legend
Just watched planes trains and automobiles tonight. It's the go to thanksgiving movie
Son in Law is my jam
Good list Cody, would love to hear a full review for Planes Trains and Automobiles. Can’t wait for it!
Anyone who criticizes your number one pick is objectively wrong, Cody. Very good list.
I thought I was gonna have to wait for another video after the horror franchise ranking! Let’s go!!!!!
Before I watch, “You’re next” is my favorite Thanksgiving movie!
You inspired me, Cody. I'm currently watch Dutch. It's so fun.
Love Dan in Real Life. Highly recommend “The Way Way Back” for anyone who likes it. Similar feel-good vibes and peak Sam Rockwell
I love Dan in Real Life!!! I havent thought about that movie in so long! Now I gotta go watch it.
Pieces of April is my #1
I was hoping someone would mention this one. Its so great, funny and touching...also my fav. happy Thanksgiving!
Cody I popped in just to ensure TP&A was on the list. You have a good holiday bud.
Blood Rage is a must for Thanksgiving! Very cheesy but I just love it and the gore in it is awesome!
Here in Europe we never celebrate Thanksgiving. Now I’m in the US for the first time and I already hear lot’s of people talking about it. I can’t wait to see what it’s all about. Maybe I’ll celebrate with you guys!

End of the day, if sharing a delicious meal and a having great time with whoever you consider family, it just may be for you. ✌️❤️
@ I’m here with my dad, so we will make it a fantastic day! Thanks for the info.
Thanks Cody a lot of these movies never seen.
"Your water looked tasty." My brother and I'm favorite quote
There’s one of our movie that is worth mentioning about John Kennedy and that’s Spaceballs
Uncle buck isn’t a thanksgiving movie, but I find myself watching that around this time of year.
John Hughes, John Candy. Can't miss.
There's only one scene involving Thanksgiving but I watch Love And A Bullet every year. It does a great job capturing the feeling of everything being closed and trying to accomplish something with that going on.

Shout out to you for including 4 Brothers. Fun movie.
Glad someone recognizes four brothers as a Thanksgiving classic.
I saw a showing of Planes, Trains & Automobiles at my local theatre. Practically every scene and quote by Steve Martin and the late John Candy were hitting the mark with the audience. It's a fantastic film.
Oh man, Cody. Thank you for mentioning Dan in Real Life. I really really love that movie. It IS like a warm hug sort of movie.
I love watching Four Brothers around this time!
I was actually surprised how good your Al Pacino Impression is hahaha
I've never seen Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.. i know, i know. You've talked me into it. Im gonna put it on right after the Thanksgiving Parade.
Ngl Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving from last year is my only go to film for Thanksgiving to watch every year.
Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter and Robert Dowwney , Jr. is another fun Thanksgiving movie. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Awesome list, I really wanna check out Midnight Run, I’ve never watched it
Midnight Run is a great choice!!!
I'm about to watch but hoping thankskilling somehow made it into Mr. Leach's list!
Gobble gobble!
"nice tits bitch"
fantastic mr. fox never gets its flowers
Yeeees! At the start I was thinking Son In Law had to be in there😂😂😂
I always watch Mystery Science Theater on thanksgiving.
So many great ones to choose from too. We watched Manos a couple years ago on Thanksgiving. That was a hit, and made some family members into new fans. 👍
Highly recommend the movie Prisoners, I feel like it’s never talked about and it takes place on thanksgiving
Pleasantly surprised to see 4 bros. It makes sense, its a fun movie.
I have never heard of Dan in Real Life, Four Brothers, and Son in Law
Well hello Cody and all the fans, just wanted to chime in and say, I'm from NZ we don't have Thanksgiving here but...Planes Trains and automobiles for the win! Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
Son In Law is such a good movie. Had one of my first celebrity crushes ever on Carla Gugino in this.
Hey Cody have you ever seen the Re-Animator movies? I feel like you would like them.
My favorite movie to watch on Thanksgiving is Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987).
Awesome video
Gotta throw some love to Grumpy Old Men which is absolutely hilarious & heartwarming & i believe has Thanksgiving at some point. Also Grumpier Old Men just cause it's such a nice fun addition to the 1st movie.

My two thanksgiving essentials are a recent addition (Knives Out) and a stone-cold classic (The Godfather)
Canada Thanksgiving has just past
I wondered if you were going to mention Dutch! Lol
I still watch DUTCH on VHS 📼
I always watch School Ties on Turkey Day.Great story and acting from Affleck,Damon and Brenden Frazier
A weird tradition I have on Thanksgiving is watching the movie Phantoms lol
I remember renting it when I was young and watched it on a Thanksgiving and did it ever since 😂
Fucking Cody Leach only man who would have a Thanksgiving movie list 😂. Cody you the man never change!
/ never heard of going to have to check some of them out
I just watched Scent of a Woman!! That movie is great.
"The Lion in Winter". If you want your family drama put into perspective, watch that movie and remember two things. First, it's based on history, this family was really like this. All help raising consciousness towards Dutch is appreciated 👌🏻🔥
Planes Trains Automobiles, Dutch, and Flubber
planes trains is a perfect movie
I literally though knives out was a thanksgiving movie 😂😂😂
6:26 Good Pacino. 👍
Planes trains and automobiles at the cinema on Sunday
