I was in the Latin club at Asheville High School from 1979 to 1981. The state convention was at UNC. This brings back pleasant memories of visiting the beautiful campus.
I also love the colorful autumn leaves via all the hardwoods, as well as the tall, stately long-leaf pines, in contrast! Coming from Illinois--where winter gets much colder for a much longer time--I'm especially appreciative of Chapel Hill's beautiful, long, Spring season. Two special natural beauties not too far away are the mountains to the west and the ocean beaches to the east. There are several other interesting, informative You Tube videos posted about "The Southern Part of Heaven." Most important, of course, are the campuswide outstanding faculty members in highly-ranked curricula. 3/28/22.
