R1300GS Sauerland // BMW Chase

Always great to follow the locals when cruising :D
This is not a race, just some ambitious riding.
I was new to that road, so it was cool to have someone in lead.
That Torque-Monster - the BMW R1300GS is really fun to throw around the curves!
The driver was very happy to show me the road! - waved when we met again!
i got no clue about cars, although i had an E36 and a Z3 decades ago, dunno what BMW exactly i was following there.

Is that a custom finish or wrap on that bike? Maybe the shadows are confusing my eyes, but it almost looks like a burled walnut finish.

Valid question. Thanks for asking. I crumpled up aluminum foil, dipped it in silver acrylic paint, and dabbed it onto the raw parts. Then I sprayed a coat of candy paint over it. Because of the bumpy surface, I had to apply multiple layers of epoxy clear coat. I'll try to upload a picture for you, wait a sec... since youtube often prevents external links, i've also put it in this videos description!
