Rochester, NY, USA, pursuing a combined three years program which includes one year of fellowship in Complex care Center along with the two years of Advanced Education in General Dentistry(AEGD) residency. This podcast covered the process, duration, differences, expenses in detail.
The Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Postdoctoral Program is a 12-month certificate program with an optional second year. The AEGD program is open to US/Canadian and foreign-trained dentists. The General Practice Residency (GPR) is an intensive postgraduate training program fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The program is designed to train the general dentist in the management of medically complex and special-needs patients in both outpatient and hospital settings while increasing knowledge in the practice of dentistry and its various disciplines.
This video of Aspire 32 is made by Dr. Suresh Shenvi who has cleared various exams like ADAT, NBDE from the USA, DHA from Dubai, and various Indian Entrance exams like PGI, KCET, NEET. I am MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics by profession. I am also an author of dental books on the entrance exam and I am also currently a faculty at KLE University and a receiver of the best teacher award. He also has a private practice at Shenvi Dental Clinic and Specialty Root Canal Center, Belgaum, Karnataka.

Very informative podcast. In UT Houston school of dentistry they are saying to do 6-12 months of perceptorship before getting into AEGD program. But there is no mention of that in your video.

I wanted to know as I live in New York... Is residency in orthodontics helps to get Lisence as dentist in New York? Because website says any dental residency of 2 yrs is also eligible to apply for Lisence As dentist in US.

If u do a board recognised degree than you can practice in usa without green card
As sir mentioned about the fact that aegd programme in connecticut offers stipend to students and after aegd in residency programmes also students do get stipend...all this is possible only if you have a PR or is it possible on visa?

I was wondering why the different types of dentist do not specify AEGD/GPR by their name as it makes them harder to find! I was told by an exceptional DDS in the DC area to go and SPECIFICALLY SEE this type of generalist, BUT in a search you can't tell what you are finding! I am 32 and have such bad oral issues (was left in oral hell as a child!) how do you know what you're getting!?! I'm literally weeping writing this as there's no damn way and for almost 13 years due to my issues and being on medicaid and for part of it being a child (thankfully now I have Obamacare) I was drinking through straws and I have no BS way to use this advice! I have even been told by some in the field as the issue is hard to see as it is now and due to do no harm screw you we don't see it! Stay in pain on the left side permanently and only eat out of your right side while wanting permanently remove your mouth by your own two hands! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
So after doing two years of a GPR or AEGD and then 3 years in of being a licensed dentist, you can work anywhere in the US?

Unfortunately I am not aware about such courses which can help you take there. Its difficult that way
