Thanks for sharing your fantastic fall harvest Meg... I've told you before, but I'll say it again... You are so good in front of the camera and were meant to do this. I mean this in the nicest non-creepy way possible. 🤣 Please know you have some random dude out in the San Francisco Bay Area wishing you all the best heading into your surgery and post during recovery. Keep that infectious positivity of yours'. All the best Meg... 🙏
Honestly, when October rolls around I just cut the plants at soil level and go sit on the patio to harvest. So much easier for this old gal. Love your videos! Wishing you well on your surgery.
Hope you have a speedy recovery. Here in high desert Central Oregon, my garden is toast. We were down to 21 at sunrise today. Between the frost, the deer, & the gophers, my garden was pathetic. Boy, do I have plans for next year! Happy gardening, Meg!
Prayers and hugs going out to you for your surgery. Praying for a speedy recovery. Please take care of yourself and not try to do too much too soon. Much love
You are such an inspiration in so many ways! In Ohio, we've dealt with a terrible drought this year. First time I've had to deal with that since living here the past 17 years. But I was very impressed with how well my garden did and I told it so daily 😊. But nowwww...two weeks ago, arctic blasts are hitting us months early, so most of my garden is gone even with covering them, etc. My brassica however are very happy...lol! And of course that's fine with me 🫶👍❤! Stay strong beautiful Soul....we are all with you indeed! Love and light 💫
Praying for a speedy recovery! 💗 Still harvesting cayenne peppers, cherry tomatoes and have two baby watermelons on the vine. Fall garden I have radishes, carrots, lettuce, spinach so far growing. Loving the extended warm weather in SE Tennessee.
praying you will have a speedy recovery Meg ❤ I’m harvesting lettuce 🥬 right now. Also still have Cherry tomatoes and jalapeños and Hungarian wax peppers😊
GOOD LUCK MEG YOU ARE SO STRONG AND SMART FOR BEING PROACTIVE WITH YOUR HEALTH. I had ACL knee surgery 3 weeks ago and I was grabbing tomatoes the day before the surgery and desperately trying to find takers haha. I was not expecting to still have so much stuff coming in still but I was able to go out with crutches and an apron with pockets to harvest last week. I feel pretty sad for all the stuff I missed and that ended up rotting or withering because I couldn’t water, but hey it’ll go back to the soil. I had a TOTAL failure for all my fall crops because I was too busy preparing and wasn’t able to manage pests the on my brassicas during a critical week. I have a lot of regrets about my fall garden and even considered giving up on gardening next year. I hope I do end up having a bit of time to do stuff next season but I’m still worried I won’t be able to lift things by next season. Hopefully I’ll be gardening next year but we’ll see!
Such bounty! My garden is mostly sleeping..I have kale and green onions and the odd beet to harvest. I do.have a bounty of flowers still going strong. I hope your recovery is going well.
Beautiful harvest Meg, and best of luck for your surgery & recovery! If you're looking for more ways to cook your butternuts, I've been making this nutty & spiced butternut loaf for years and years and it's always a crowd pleaser. Here's the recipe: Nutty Pumpkin Spice Loaf - A lovely autumnal take on carrot cake or courgette bread, it’s moist enough not to need icing and stores very well for up to a week. Makes 1 loaf tin 200g butternut squash 2 eggs 100ml vegetable oil 100g powdered hazelnuts, other nuts work well too 1 ½ tsp cinnamon ½ tsp ginger 1 pinch salt 90g light brown sugar 175g flour ¾ tsp baking powder ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda Preheat oven at 150°C. Cook the butternut squash (I do this in the microwave to avoid introducing more moisture) and puree it with a potato masher or blender. Add the squash, eggs, oil, nuts & spices to a large mixing bowl, and whisk until everything is well incorporated. Add the flour, baking powder and bicarb to the same bowl, and fold in gently to avoid creating lumps and overworking the flour. Pour the cake batter into a lined loaf tin & bake for approximately an hour and 10 minutes.
I'm in Colorado and am still getting a few things. First frost where I am tonight but it's been great getting such a late harvest!!!! Hope your surgery went well!!
I saw your post surgery update - glad you’re doing okay! I’m having a bad tomato year. I’m so done with making tomato sauce. I had to pull all the stragglers before a near frost and some are ripening but most are just rotting. This is the first year I’ve had time to do a gradual cleanup. I’m still harvesting bitter melon, Swiss chard and succotash beans. I reset my 2 covered beds with brassicas, planted garlic and winter wheat. I planted my rosella hibiscus late. It’s as tall as me but still has no flowers or buds. I’m hoping it comes back next year.
Oh girl!!! They're so good fried like squash or zucchini!!! My husband loves it. My pharmacist is Indian and they have gotten a lot of them from me this year. So good. You should try them
It looks like ypur roselle has bloomed and those are the caylex (sp). They also make great wine. I grew them in north central Florida for several years. Awesome plants.
I live in SW Missouri and went all summer with only a handful of tomatoes and three peppers.... Out of 6-8 plants of each. Ugh. Now, with frost approaching, the peppers and tomatoes are producing quite well. We've invested in a greenhouse to hopefully be able to harvest all those veggies.
I am a lazy luffa gardener, mine grow all over the ground like crazy, 23 fruits on a vine. Mine are the ridged version known as Chinese Okra since the ridges make it look okra like.
Beautiful peppers! Hope everything goes well and recovery is speedy for you. As for my harvest... feathers, loads and loads if feathers (moulting sucks). 😄
Oh no, I was diagnosed with tall cell thyroid cancer. It was a pain but I was in remission in two years. The first surgery recovery was a little rough but they had to take out lymph nodes too so mine was a little complicated. Sending you all the good vibes for your recovery ❤.
OM! PLEASEEEEEE post another video about how you use your peppers! Your last video where you did that is my favorite thing on youtube. I've made your green jalapeno sauce and the red one. The red one was too hot for me, so I added a roasted red bell pepper.
Oh, and I am growing Roselle for the first time here in Southern Maryland. Two seeds and I have two 6' tall plants in a 4' X 8" bed. I couldn't figure out what to harvest but you'll see the difference (blooms only last one day) between buds that are tiny (haven't flowered) and the buds that are maturing (bigger and you can feel seeds). I started way too late here because I was going to be away in Aug-Sept and I didn't want to miss any caylx ripening. Now I know flowering is triggered by shortening day length. I should have started earlier. I wish I could post pix here.
I didn't realize they grow like rose hips that's so cool to actually see the plant like that. Our season just ended, I had a rogue watermelon vine that met a tragic end
omg I hope your surgery went well! Best of luck with your 3T MRI. One of my very good friends was also recently diagnosed and reported similarly regarding how the 3T feels 😭 I really hope it goes smoothly for you. Maybe you'd be able to get some relaxation medication for the MRI? Best of luck regardless, hang in there! Lots of love to you and yours.
Hope you're recovering well, I felt that when you told your roselle hibiscus to hurry up and bloom 🤣 I have one I planted a few months ago and even though it's like a quarter the size of yours it's sprouted some little flower buds, which I'm surprised since it's a pretty young plant lol. I'm really looking forward to you getting your calyxes harvested and tell us what you made with them!
Please know that I am praying for you, I to am a cancer survivor, different cancer. My only advice is keep a journal you can bring it to the doctor to assist in your recovery.
I have five baby swallowtail cats on my celery and I'm not sure what to do with them to make sure they make it through. The last time I had them on my dill they dissapeared, hopefully to safely make a chrysalis somewhere. My first thought is to just put netting over the bed but I'm reading that I should remove them and bring them in. I would love to see a video sometime about how you raise butterflies or maybe it could be a podcast episode if the other garden girls do the same. Thank you!
My Serrano peppers are bursting and waiting for some to ripen. It’s my first year planting Serrano and I’ll definitely plant for next year. Can you pls share your recipe for Serrano? I’ve been harvesting my sweet 100s all month and Ty are still going strong. I love your content! 🙏🏽 for your health!
I would love a video about loofa! I’ve never tried to grow them. Can you ask Manchie your neighbor if you can eat the Hyancinth bean plant? I’ve read it is ornamental only
How’d it go? Are you recovering well? So many questions and so anxious, I hope you’re doing well. I don’t know if I heard the full story I heard surgery and cancer and I freaked out.
MRI Tech here…please consider asking your referring/ordering physician for a prescription for an oral sedative (like Valium) before your next MRI. It really helps so many claustrophobic patients relax. Believe it or not, we don’t like to torture you! You can also ask for music, and a blindfold if you think that would help.
I've commented on some of you previous videos but the comments never post, they are deleted and I don't know why. But if this one posts, I just want you to know that I hope everything goes well with your surgery and health issues.

Praying for quick and complete recovery! Here in SW Louisiana I am harvesting lots and lots of peppers also!
Speedy recovery from your surgery, hopefully everything goes well! Your garden is amazing, I feel like mine has quit for the year
Bless you Meg, you’re young and strong, you will survive. Can’t wait for next years garden.
Sending up prayers for a speedy recovery and your future health.
My hibiscus rossell bloomed a couple weeks ago. Been enjoying the drink very much!
Praying for your speedy recovery 🙏🙏
Those peppers look very colourful. Hope the surgery went well and you are recovering ok.

I'm in zone 5 and this October has been so warm. I'm kicking myself for already pulling my pepper plants, I'd probably still be harvesting!
Sending you all the positive healing vibes!! ❤
praying you will have a speedy recovery Meg ❤ I’m harvesting lettuce 🥬 right now. Also still have Cherry tomatoes and jalapeños and Hungarian wax peppers😊
Praying for you. I got my MS diagnoses in early 2016. It’s scary but treatment has come along way. ❤

This is the first year I had red jalapenos. I dehydrated most of mine to make pepper flakes.
We make pickles out of the sorrel leaves . those leaves are very very sour. Full of goodies.
Praying for your recovery😢❤
Today I harvested peppers and tomatoes and ground cherries
I didn't realize they grow like rose hips that's so cool to actually see the plant like that. Our season just ended, I had a rogue watermelon vine that met a tragic end
Love your videos, Meg! Will be praying for you this Diwali. Love from India💖

Lufa is so yummy to taste. A water vegetable. Called ridge gourd in some places. Good for weight loss
You can also use the jamaica flower for tacos after you’ve used it for agua de jamaica.

With the Rosellas (hibiscus flowers), in Australia it's common to make rosella jam 🤤 takes a bit of work but worth it
Wish you all the best. ❤
4 nodules here, one has doubled in a month. 🙏 9b in California. August sun kills all plants. So I rip out summer garden and plant fall by Labor Day.
Hope you’re doing well bb girl💖

Hi Meg 👋🏻
Do you buy your pepper plants from somewhere or do you grow from seed.
🇧🇷❤️
I've commented on some of you previous videos but the comments never post, they are deleted and I don't know why. But if this one posts, I just want you to know that I hope everything goes well with your surgery and health issues.
Happy you're feeling good but you're way too young to be dealing with this health issue. Sending prayers for you.
