The best thing is that the male instructor is talking is Silesian dialect which compared to standard Polish is like listening to a Scottish person compared to standard English, this makes this situation 10 times funnier

6:06 they went through a red light bc they got green arrow under the red light on the left side, meaning she could conditionally turn left.
A green arrow sent by the S-2 traffic light together with a red signal means conditional permission to enter beyond the traffic light. A necessary condition is to stop at the traffic light. When entering the traffic light, the driver is obliged to give way to pedestrians and vehicles traveling on a perpendicular road in accordance with the green signal.

I have never seen a green conditional left turn arrow in Poland I guess there are very few of them :P

    • @elzbietabetlej4085
      @elzbietabetlej4085 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@@kubenq actually there are plenty of them in busier cities, where the trafic is huge , but there is a small number of trafic lanes you can occupy by the cars. They usually put conditional turns on left and right sides, unfortunately some people are still impatient and they think they will " make it in time" or that the rules of using that law is below them and not wanting to stand in a traffic they end up like in the video.

    1. That’s a very old video, it’s the show from the early 2000 and late 1990.
    2. In Poland we have something called „strzałka warunkowa” this arrow on the left of the lights. It’s mostly when you’re turning right (never saw one turning left) but I guess it could happen on one way streets.
    3. Driving instructors in Poland are exempt from wearing their seatbelt because it limits their movement and therefore their reaction time

4:20 you can see green arrow streetlight next to where normal green light would be - this means, AFTER making sure the road is FREE, you are allowed to turn LEFT. As far as I know, this doesn't exist anymore (hell, hard to guess why considering the video); but turning RIGHT version - is still there. The arrow pops up after red light, you gonna need to wait a little. After green arrow, green light comes up anyway quite soonish.

It is (or at least it was and I think still is) for the driving instructor to not wear the seat belt. This is to allow him/her quick reaction in emergency situation like for example grabbing the wheel. Those cars are all equipped with a second break and I think clutch pedal too at the passenger seat for the instructor but obviously not the second staring wheel.

there's important point to make, this is goddamn old video from TV show from almost 25 years ago. Poland barely got done with communism and was on ~10th year of capitalism. It's a nice glimpse like a time capsule at the reality of those times. Poland went through a vast tranformation, and simply got richer during this timespan. It's like watching UK videos from 70's or 80's - it can be safely said, the change was twice as quick compared to West. Taking the quality of life we enjoy nowadays, we tend to forget it wasn't so peachy like that in the past.

Alright, I did it. I translated the entire video to English in this comment so that you may know what is happedning in each scene. That's pure mess, little to say but here you are:
    Scene 1
    - Not against the traffic! Not the wrong way!
    - *gasp*
    - Come on Benek, you’re driving against the traffic!
    - Fuuuuc…
_ Don’t you se how he flashed at you? Reverse, reverse, we’ve no time! Steer to the left. It’s not funny!... Oh my Jesus, Oh my Jesus! How are you driving, man?
    Scene 2
    - Stop, you’re gonna run over this lady. STOP! Good Lord! Basia!
    - But she was so far from me…
    - Was she really?
    *stalls*
    - Kyrie eleison! (Lord, have mercy) Get away from here! Stop, we have the red light. BASIA!
    - What have I done…
    - The signs! Watch out, brake! You’ll run over this lady!
    *brakes*
    - BASIA!
    Scene 3
    - Jesus Christ, Holy Mother of God!
    - Turn right.
    - Aaargh! Małgosia! Save me! *chuckles* Help me, if it weren’t for you, I’d be…
    *drives onto a pavement*
    - What about this pedestrian?
    _ Jesus, I don’t know what’s going on, I just don’t.
    Scene 4
    - We’re turning right.
    - Jesus Christ, is it now?
    - Yep, why not? Such a nice narrow street.
    - O Jesus… *turns left into “no entry” road*
    - KASIA! KASIA!
    - Jesus Christ!
    - Is this what ‘right’ means to you?
    Scene 5
*talking some meaningless stuff, then brakes before the zebra crossing*
    - Here you are.
    - But why…
    - You’re welcome.
    - But why…
    - I’m driving slowly not to cause any mess…
    *drives onto zebra crossing*
    - Again through the crossing? You’re driving through people!
    - Holy Mother of God!
    - What are you looking for?
    Scene 6
    - First gear…
    - Right, now I fell it! What’s with the priority here? *drives into “no entry” road* Watch out, kids! I don’t want to run you over!
    - Hey you! My lady!
    - What happened?
    - What’s this sign?
    - No entry…
    - And you’re still accelerating? Are you really? Is driving the wrong way to little for you?
    Scene 7 (roundabout)
    - Why do you need the turn signal for? There’s no need. Go…
    *turns left on the roundabout*
    - Holy Mother! HOLY MOTHER!
    - What’s the matter, Małgosia?
    - No way, you’re going home! For real! GRAY SMOKE! (Polish phrase said in situations so messed up you actually have no clue what to say) WHAT HAVE YOU JUST DONE?!
    Scene 8
    - That’s right, now shift to second… Now go, go on. On black asphalt, right?
*turns left ending up on a wrong lane*
    - And what now? What just happened?
    - And what now? What?
    - Exactly, they drove the wrong…
    - THAY? Can’t you see this guy even rubbed his head? Come on, Marysia, such a mess! Why are you driving on this guy’s lane? What are you doing? What are you thinking about?
    - I’m getting off, it makes no sense…
    Scene 9
    - How cool are you driving!
*almost drives into a building and brakes rapidly*
    - What have we done?
    - We? Nothing.
Scene 10 - here begins the best part with the instructor speaking in dialect
    - Go where that bus went. *drives against the traffic* MARYSIA, WHERE ARE YOU GOING? Through the roundabout! And there’s the “give way” sign, so STOP NOW, STOP NOW! Wait. Wait… And now let go of the clutch… But accelerate! Off the clutch, off the clutch, off, off… *drives the wrong way again* BUT WHERE?! AROUND? Marysia, it’s a roundabout! Marysia! Go, go, gas, gas!

There is one funny part you are totally unable to get. Those people use special kind of polish. A thick silesian one. It makes whole much more funnier. Imagine such show in UK where all using thick scottish accent (very thick). And using most local, funniest idioms they can get.
Ps: in most cases TH-cam has a option of autotranslation and subtitles on computers. But with that video it might not work. And even if it would, some idioms are hard to translate (and they are hilarious even for "ordinary" Poles). Anyway, you are missing 70% of fun.

These are the best moments from the TV show. The students were specially selected. The situations could have been staged

Poland red means stop but lot of drivers thinks that if no one there, they can go. Also the instructor don't have to wear seatbelt just like pregnat woman or cops. In case of need to catch for a wheel or something

Why so many people crossing the street show no reaction - driving instructor has control of the clutch and brake, plus we in Poland just feel like getting ran over sometimes.

As mazovian pole I am definitly sure that is not polish language in a title... in polish is: "Szkoła Jazdy" not "Autoscola" I am not sure but I think that is silesian language.
    Edit:
I am quite sure that is silesian beacuse second instructor speaks silesian language.
