  • I love my acrylic gloss sprays, but I have not been taking very good care of my sprays. Turns out if you don't clean them and clear the nozzle after use, they can get terribly clogged. So, in this video, I am showing you how to properly care for your acrylic sprays, almost as a reminder to myself! Sprays are linked below!

    After neglecting my DW gloss sprays, I'm now going through the tedious cleaning process. I found your video as I was stumped. Thank you for breaking down the nozzle top. That's where I found the problem. Yay! I can relate to some comments on not wanting to purchase again🤔. All the maintenance kinda takes away the spontaneity.

      I pretty much agree. I love the sprays, but the maintenance is a lot, and take the joy out of creating.

    A great message for us with sprays! I found one last week I was unable to deal with and stuck it back on the shelf for a time out..until I can deal with it better. It can be frustrating for sure, but indeed, prevention is better than upset with a clogged spray bottle! Thanks for reminding us to take better care of our supplies!

    I have cleaned my gloss and shimmer sprays numerous times and it does take a while to get through them all. Most of my sprays are Ranger products and if the bottles are fairly new they will send replacement spray tops. If not you can also purchase spray tops from them for these. I haven’t tried spraying them clean after using but will certainly try it to save time and frustration. Great video. Blessings Elisa

      It does help! It isn't a perfect system, but I have found that it works well most of the time.

      Aw, sorry to hear that they are still clogged. Glad you are finding a way to still use them in a way.

    Thanks for this tutorial. Ranger Ink has replacement sprayers for Tim Holtz distress sprays and Dylan Reaveley’s sprays. I imagine they’re all the same and they’re not very expensive. That way, if you have to replace the top, you can do so and still keep the sprays in it’s original bottle.

    Thanks for the tutorial and giving me hope that I can unclog my Heidi Swapp shimmer mist bottles.

    As much as I love my gloss sprays, this is exactly why I will never buy them again. My maintenance process is exactly the same as yours. It’s a lot of work! LOL Now I avoid using them because I don’t want to have to go this the cleaning process. 🤔 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Completely agree. I’ll use them up because I have them but won’t purchase again and won’t purchase any more colours. Too much maintenance and such a waste of product to be cleaning them out every use

      Same here! They should come with a cap to close them so you can immediately drop the sprayer in water. Treat the sprayer kind of like your paint brushes!

    Is there a way to stop by journal pages from sticking together (has dry gloss sprays on both facing pages)??

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Try using the EK success powder tool, or any kind of baby powder really to get rid of the "stick".

      @@ScrappyWife thank you! I did try collage medium in one corner, and that worked but dulled the gloss and can see brush stroke lines. I should have used a softer brush.
