I’ve heard a lot of people refer to the first 3 months after delivery as “the 4th trimester” and I totally agree! I typically try not to be too hard on myself or structured about ANYTHING during those first 3 months. Just focusing on enjoying baby and getting used to a new rhythm of life with a new one ☺️
Welcome back!!! Im so glad I had my kids super young because I think that helps with recovery and dealing with zero sleep. FED is best. Doesnt matter if you nurse, pump, or use formula :) I also have a horror c section experience but back in 95 no one was fine talking about that. At least with social media, more women are coming forward to share their experiences.
Yay, you're back! As someone who's had 29 surgeries (I have Spina Bifida), I can sympathize with you. If you've never been in an OR I can see how it could be scary. Btw, he's adorable!
I'm so happy to see u post! There's so much to learn from every single human's birth story. Each one experience something different. I'm glad everything is better now💜💜
Yup - the epideral made me totally vomitous too and quite itchy; the nurse told me later “well, some people do have allergic reactions…”. Plus the whole having your arms strapped down is really scary when it hasn’t been explained that that’s what will happen.
Thank you for telling us your story, Jocelyn! I have been sending good vibes your way for several months, hoping baby boy and you and Alex were doing all right! My baby girl was due Oct. 8, and turns out she was born just a few hours after Charlie! Birthday twins! Anyway, just want to say stay strong. Hope the transition back to work goes well for everyone!
I have had one of the worst nights of my life and seeing that you posted made burst into tears all over again. Your voice is incredibly comforting and with a birth hopefully in our not so distant future I am so happy to hear this very candid version of a c-section. I haven't found a lot of people mention the play by plays and this is what I've been looking for. Anyway, I appreciate that this came when it did. I'm taking notes because birth terrifies me and you had a lot of information I never heard before. So thank you, thank you, this really made an awful night better (but don't feel you have to post again soon if you're not up to it!). I also second that he seems to take after you.
Thank you so much! 💜 I strongly believe in being very open and honest about pregnancy and birth (through my own experience) because of how unprepared I was! If I had been more prepared, I think my experience would have been much differenct. In a positive way. On the plus side, not everyone has the same experience as me. Some people have GREAT pregnancies and great births! If you ever have kids (it sounds like you don't yet?), my wish for you is that it's better than my experience 😅
He’s adorable!!! So so cute. Thank you so much for sharing your story! It was so hard that first month I had my first, thank God it got better as time went on! He really does look like you! 💕
Congratulations! I'm so sorry that the birth wasn't great for you. I had a rubbish first birth too but you do forget. I think if you didn't forget most people wouldn't have more than 1 baby haha. Im glad you're feeling better now and I'm so happy that you've posted. Also Charlie is such a cute little boy xx
Congratulations! My son was 11 lbs when he was born, so he was a big eater from the start. He was my first born, so breastfeeding was a struggle for me as well. He didn’t latch and I had no idea what I was doing. I ended up finding that exclusive pumping was the best route for both of us. We had to supplement with formula at times, especially in the beginning because I wasn’t producing enough. It is so hard!!! I was pumping 8 times a day during the first couple of months then dropped down to 5 times a day eventually and I pumped until my son turned 6 months. I also went back to work full-time when he was 11 weeks old. It was very taxing on my mental health toward the end of my pumping journey. I absolutely sympathize with you!
We supplemented a bit at the beginning as well because I didn't produce enough. I'm lucky and ended up being an over supplier so I'm hoping to pump and save enough to get him through his first year without having to be hooked up to a pump all of next summer 😅
To say I was soooo excited to see you posted tonight is a huge understatement! I’m so glad things are going well for you all now. I can’t wait to hear more about Charlie and the content you post next. Maybe a video on what you thought helped most in your hospital bag? 😊
I am so happy you have a beautiful baby boy. I happy you were able to post your story. I would love to watch a video about things you needed during pregnancy and then after you had baby.
Congratulations to you and Alex!!! Charlie is adorable 😍 💕. Thank you for sharing you story ❤️ It brought back memories for my own and my daughter's story too. My grandson doesn't like sleep at all. Lol. Looking forward to seeing you more. 😀
It is so nice to see you Jocelyn! I am happy you guys are doing well now, congratulations! Baby Charlie is adorable and he definetly has your eyes. Don't put pressure on yourself about youtube and posting on a scheduel, you have a lot on your plate. I wish your family the best!
Sorry to hear you had a rough birth. My sister had a C-section & it was a very hard experience like yours. I was just thinking of writing & checking in on you again. Glad you're doing better! Your son is adorable! Congrats again.
Hey what are Virgos, chopped liver? LOL we’re pretty amazing if I do say so myself . Well, I hear things about boy virgos though so idk. 🤔 I had my Virgo boy 9/8/21 so I guess I’ll find out lol. By the way, CONGRATULATIONS! being not pregnant feels amazing huh?! 🤗🤗
Congratulations on your baby boy!!! I was hoping he'd be a Libra only because that's my Moon sign haha Being not pregnant any longer is absolute heaven 😂
Why did they even offer donor milk, if they knew it was unpredictable ? ! :( I’m so sorry you had this experience. But, you and baby are healthy and I’m sure he is such a cutie!!! ❤️
And never feel guilty or the need to defend your choices. You are doing great, Mama!! My sister in law, still to this day (my son is now 3) throws shade comments at me about me not breastfeeding. Thankfully I can just let them slide off but sometimes it is difficult to not take them to heart.
@@justbecca5714 I didn’t either. I had such bad postpartum experiences that there was no way that I could have. Luckily no one said anything to me about that and my kids both turned out healthy.
I'm so sorry your SIL gave you a hard time about not breastfeeding. My parents and in-laws definitely had a lot of questions about me not nursing and only pumping. Fortunately not in a super judgy way but sometimes it was a little hard not letting it get under my skin.
As an FYI, next you get anesthesia, let them know you experience nausea. It’s common-and they can give you something to help (not sure while pregnant, but next time )

It definitely helps to hear more people's experiences! I leaned on my best friend quite a bit who has three of them!
So happy to see you back on YT! Congrats on sweet lil Charlie! Thank you for sharing your story. Sounds beyond intense
Congrats my friend!! So happy for you and Alex!!! 💖💖💖
Yay! So happy you're back and congrats; he's beautiful. Birth trauma is a real thing, sad for you that was bumpy but happy it all worked out.
Congrats to you and Alex! Charlie is beautiful! 💙💕

After her first baby, my mom said she would never have another one. I'm the youngest, #8 in the lineup.

He isn’t the first husband to see his wife’s insides….that’s all pretty common.
