Aaron Burr, sir Dude, what the frick
All by my shelf Catherine Parr has to be married to man or she’d be killed or move to another country so she wouldn’t get to see Tomas
Janes pun was probably “England doesn’t have a kidney bank, but it does have a Liverpool”
That sounds like a momma Jane pun
eeee is it bad I love that pun
@•-• yes i'm proud of you, go be dank child
I usually don’t laugh at puns
But I laughed at this one
I’m from Liverpool and this is so funny to me
It's surreal to remember that 5 of the 6 wives definately knew each other very well before marrying Henry. Anne B was cousins with Jane and Kath H. Kath P was in love with/married Jane's brother. Most of the wives were ladies in waiting when one of them was queen, which was like a super trusted position because you knew all the queen's secrets. (Even though Henry used the position to scout out his next wife. Basically the husband who cheats with the best friend x4) Only odd one out was Anne C.
Psyche's Rose so like a love pentagon?¿ 😂
Wait wasn't Katherine h a lady in waiting for cleves? It was said they had a really good relationship! (Howard didn't let cloves to bow to her and it was said they would dance with each other , I am not sure if that is true or not but I have read it somewhere so please correct me if I am wrong)
someone idk I mean u putting it like that seems like they had a secret les relationship cleves already emits big Lesbian energy so 😙✌️
Kath H and Anne B never met. They were cousins, but Kath H was the child of a poor family without any status and Anne B was a member of a hugely influential familly with a lot of wealth. Also, Anne B hated their mutual uncle, the duke of Norfolk, who supported Kath H (and pressured her to marry the king, to expand his own influence), and wouldn't have anything to do with him. Also Anne B was 15 years older than Kath H and Katherine was only like 13, when Anne B died.
Jane Seymour and Anne B definitely met though, because Anne B famously ripped the locket with a picture of King Henry off of Jane's neck when she realized the two of them were having an affair, but to say they were best friends is a stretch. She was a maid of honor in Anne B (and Catherine of Aragon)'s household, but that's like a junior position and they likely wouldn't have met much.
As for Jane Seymour and Katherine P, Katherine P didn't meet or start a relationship with Jane Seymour's brother until after Jane Seymour's death, so its unlikely that they knew each other personally.
Don't forget that Cath A. was Kath P.'s godmother. Kath P.'s mother was a lady in waiting for Cath A. Which means the Henry knew P since her birth. Also since Kath P married Thomas Seymour, who is the second cousin to Anne B and Kath H. They are all sort of related.
Every time I hear this song I hope that the six queens are listening to the musical from heaven. I think it did them justice, and I hope they feel that way.

Comment #2: Isn't it weird that both Catherine's husbands died of sickness and the king too... maybe that's her Survivor's Curse?
That is interesting
@@tealeaf5255 if it was the same sickness she could've been a carrier

@@zarraelliott4159, well... it's hardly unlikely... who would poison them and take care of them until their death?
@@bobby_shark I strongly suspect it's likely with Henry, because just over half his wives dying (with 2 or the 3 being on his fucking orders) is not a good thing for the upcoming wives.
2:16 just i notice that kathrine howard and Anne bolyen doll are beheaded? i love that part
they also hold the weapons used to behead them at 5:04
Franziska von Karma Yep! And how at the end, they weren’t in order anymore! There’s so many small details :0
Yeah lol I loved that
WHY DO YOU LOVE THAT????!!!
And I oop
Catherine Parr was in love to Jane Seymour's brother - Thomas Seymour... but she can't cuz all priority goes to the king.😢
He cheated on her when she was pregnant! Thomas is a jerk!
Stere Lizia ????
sushii x something something, it had to do with Elizabeth 1st?
Stere Lizia so... catherine was in love with thomas seymour, jane's brother. thomas cheats on catherine when shes pregnant..?
@@sushiix6609 yup
I like how though Seymour and Parr have different words associated with each other in the rhyme, they both died of infection resulting from childbirth and pairing them together at 5:07 still fits.
Also Aragon and Cleves (Divorced) both died of cancer. The other two I don't need to elaborate.
Another interesting fact, the Thomas that Catherine fell in love with was Thomas Seymour, Jane Seymour's brother. After Henry's death she actually got to marry him.
First of all, I love this take on this song so much, because it shows her relationship with herself and I adore your artstyle so much.
Second, a fun little fact, I remember when I first heard the rhyme and had no clue who Henry VIII was and I thought it was just about two wives. So when the divorced, beheaded, survived I was just like "Woah, how the fuck do you survive a beheading???"
@@chiyokou2222 pretty sure why Henry had anne executed by a skilled swordsman, maybe as a twisted way to spare her, considering he probably still loved her
Same
She survived because Henry himself had one foot in the Grave. Like legit she was the last one... He died during her lifetime. Makes her the sole survivor.
@@katiearbuckle9017 I'm from Scandinavia, so we didn't learn about Henry the eight in school. What I meant is that I thought there was only two wives, both divorced him, he beheaded them and only one survived the beheading. Which was why I was confused/amazed because it didn't make sense to me how someone could survive a beheading. So in my head "divorced, beheaded, died" = wife #1, "divorced, beheaded, survived" = wife #2. I've only learned there were 6 wives thanks to this musical.
@@SunshineSwears LMAO honestly sounds like something I'd do
it warms my heart that Anne and Aragon are laughing with each other
Uranus8 Jupiter
It’s quite bitter, Anne never had anything really against Catherine of Aragon, she even was her own lady in waiting. But because Anne wanted the power to get back at Thomas Wolsey for taking away her actual love, she prioritized marrying the king over caring about Catherine’s feelings.
The musical gives off impressions Anne was an airhead when she was HIGHLY intelligent. She basically played the king, denying being his mistress and pushing him to get a divorce. It’s pretty clear she never loved him, only stringing him along to get back at him plus it did “hurl her family up in the world” lol

a fun fact that i thought of, little off topic but,
the thing that makes hamilton and six the musical the same is that they both make history fun to learn.
Oh and Hadestown teaches you some Greek Mythology more specifically the story of Orpheus and Eurydice and the story of Hades and Persephone but it focuses on Orphy and his wife. Its a really good musical and I highly recommend it
True. I am Filipino, so I never would’ve cared about them if it weren’t for those musicals
I imagine the six queens listening to this musical in heaven, and then Hamilton passing the and being “Oh, you got a musical too?” And then they give him the side eye.

Am I the only one that didn't realize some costume design things until now?
1. Kathrine of Aragon and Anne Of cleves are both wearing crowns because they were both divorced and came form somewhere else (Like they both had the 'of ___')
2. Anne Boylen and Kathrin Howard both have chokers because they were both beheaded
3. Anne of Cleves and Kathrin Parr both have pants because they both outlived Henry
4. Jane and Kathrin Parr both have hoop earings because they never got divorced or killed
Also both Ann B. And Kath H. wear "crowns" that tie their hair up cuz they were beheaded
I only noticed the chocker xb
AND Jane and Catherine(Parr) both died of childbirth
i''m very late but Kath H and Anne B have matching chokers symbolising how they are related to each other as cousins?
This is such an underrated song in the album. It's my favourite, in all honesty. One of the animatics, the person making it said it was their least favourite and I couldn't understand because it's so good!
This is my favorite song too. Probably because it reminds me of Eliza's part in Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story. The woman who has ignored but significant accomplishments. The one who, in the context of the show, was the one who made the play itself possible.
@@ezelfrancisco1349 yeah! I agree with that :)
This is my second favourite after six, but it’s close
This and Get Down keep flip flopping for me as my favorite (just like Anna and Katherine keep flip flopping for my favorite queen) this song is so amazing!
No matter how I'm feeling when I start this song, as soon as Parr says "I'm out!" I start crying.
Same!
Fun fact during the time Henry was married to Aragon and Boleyn he was described as being charming and athletic and messages between Ann and Henry actually show that they loved each other. However during a jousting tournament Henry fell off his horse and damaged his leg, leading him to never play sports again and gain weight but there is suggestion that he got serious brain damage which may of been what caused him to be so psychotic. Maybe if he never had that injury he would have stayed with Anne Boleyn.
The incident caused Anne to miscarriage her baby, who was her son.
This is true, but I don't think he would have stayed with Anne. He may not have executed her, but by then he had already discovered that he could get rid of a beloved wife and no one would stop him. Anne Boleyn was hated by the country, and if Henry had simply divorced her, next to no one would have complained. Unfortunately, he did not, quite likely for the reasons you mentioned, and everything went fairly mad.
Jemima Ryan Well here’s the thing Henry only married Aragon because she was a part of a peace deal with Spain. However he married Anne Boleyn because it was his choice, it wasn’t till the accident that he began doubting her relationship with him
anne boleyn didn't love henry the only reason she married him bc she wanted to a queen

Whats even more awesome (horrifying) is that Catherine Parr might not have survived if she hadn't been so smart and eloquent. Sometime near the end of Henry's life, a bishop and a lord tried to turn the king against her, claiming she was a heretic. She managed to talk Henry out signing her arrest warrant by using her own wit and cunning, and THAT is why she survived. not by chance.
I feel for her considering the commonly agreed fact that her eventual husband Thomas Seymour later started creeping on the teenage Queen Liz when Catherine was looking after her.
Oh so that's why Liz the first became the virgin Queen?
@@carolinemcgovern4488
Pretty sure she did that so she could end the Tudor line. Something or other about it being cursed.

You know I love you, boy
In every single way
Though I love you, boy
I'll miss you every day
Oh I love you, boy
I wish that I could stay with you
And keep the life I made with you
And even though this feels so right
I'm holding back the tears tonight
It's true I'll never be over you
'Cause I have built a future in my mind with you
And now the hope is gone
There's nothing left for me to do
You know it isn't true
But I must say to you
That I don't need your love, no, no
I don't need your love, no, no
It'll never be better than it was, no, no
But I don't need your love, no, no
I've got no choice
With the King I stay alive
Never had a choice
Been a wife twice before, just to survive
I don't have a choice
If Henry says "It's you", then it's you
No matter how I feel
It's what I have to do
But if, somehow, I had that choice
No holding back, I'd raise my voice
I'd say "Henry, yeah it's true
I'll never belong to you
'Cause I am not your toy, to enjoy till there's something new
As if I'm gonna give up my boy, my work, my dreams
To care for you"
"Ha, darling, get a clue
There's nothing you can do
I don't need your love, no, no
No, I don't need you love, no, no
There's nothing left to discuss, no, no
But I don't need your love, no, no"
But I can't say that
Not to the king
So this is goodbye
All my love
Catherine
So I sent that letter to my love
Got married to the king
Became the one who survived
I've told you about my life
The final wife
But why should that story
Be the one I have to sing about
Just to win? I'm out
That's not my story
There's so much more
Remember that I was a writer
I wrote books and psalms and meditations
Fought for female education
So all my women could independently
Study scripture
I even got a woman to paint my picture
Why can't I tell that story?
'Cause in history
I'm fixed as one of six
And without him
I disappear
We all disappear
So we had no choice
But now it's us alone
So we've got no choice
No, we've got no choice
We're taking back the microphone
I'm gonna raise my voice
They always said:
"We need your love"
But it's time for us to rise above
It's not what went down in history
But tonight I'm singing this for me
Henry, yeah, I'm through
Too many times it's been told
And I have had enough
Love stories to get old
And you might think it's tough
But I've got to let your love run cold
We're taking back control (we're taking back control)
You need to know
I don't need your love, no, no
No, I don't need your love, no, no
Can't let it get the better of us, no, no
I don't need your love, no, no

I’ve noticed that divorced have sassy songs, Beheaded have bops, and died/survived have piano songs.
Fun fact!: Cathy Parr moves to a Chelsea manor and marries Thomas Seymour who I think was Janes brother. You can see this as in Lady Jane Grey’s journal it says she lived in Cathy’s home as she was going to marry Jane’s son Edward but didn’t and With this time Lady Jane meets Mary the lady that would kill her, yikes.
Thomas Seymour actually was Jane Seymour's brother.
When you’ve watched the animatic so much that you can tell the differences

Honestly, Parr is underrated queen. Everyone says "Well, Cleves lived way longer and techincly she is the one who survieved" but they forget every thing mentioned in the song - she was a writer and fought for felame education, and this was the end of the dark ages and there really wasn't a real change in people's life.

I've watched a lot of IDNYL animatics, but this is forever my favorite one, just because it's great, but the last ending bit. Parr seems so happy- she's united these queens, she's let go of Henry, she's singing solo and being proud. And that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside,,,,,
5:54 that high note tho!!! slay queen!!
THE DETAILS ARE ASTRONOMICAL-
Bruh. I started crying when they said they’re singing this one for themselves. Maybe it’s cause I’ve gone through and listened to all the songs and little in-between scenes with them and seeing them join together no longer competing here just nails the them of the musical home, so maybe all the little squabbles have a point bc they make this moment more meaningful idk
the beginning is my absolute favorite thing in this world
I know what this song is supposed to be, but everytime I hear the "I don't need your love" in the soft tone makes me break down. I was emotionally abused by my dad, and this just, hits hard.
love how at the end they group together differently than theyve literally always done like it used to be lined up from first wife to last wife but at around 5:13 they line up jane-anna-anne-catherine-catherine-katherine and the grouping one is usually divorced/divorced died/survived beheaded/beheaded but after 5:13 they group in twos randomly and just hhhh i love thiss
I love how this musical have a women empowerment vibe and stuff. And I love how this song is stating how history just labeled these women just as “Henry’s ex wives” when really they have so much more to them. And many other women in history don’t even get half as much attention or recommendation as men in history. And I’m happy that the people who made this musical put light on that, because it pisses myself and many others how no one acknowledges them!❤️
I like that Cath Parr basically sings this song for all the wives not just about her. It's so nice that at the end they're all laughing, having fun and being nice to each other! It really warms my heart
This animatic may not need my love but I'm going to replay it and love every bit anyway.

2:07-2:50 wow she must have wanted to say that for centuries! Plus I have to admit she’s my favourite queen because of this song (and how in the musical she is the only sane one who doesn’t want to compare her life with the others and is the one to break up the stupid fight they have after Howard’s I relate a little bit).
Last time I was this early Anne and Katherine had their heads
One of the most underrated songs in SIX imo.
I like how in Catherine’s song all of the Queens joined in. Because it’s true. They didn’t need the love of that man who cared about nothing but himself. This animatic showed that very well.
4:34
They sound so amazing and like Disney princesses, I think it’s hinting to the fact that they were queens in every way! I love this detail
I didn't like catherine parr's song at first but it kinda grows on me for some reason and now I can't stop crying.
"It's true I'll never be over you
'Cause I have built a future in my mind with you
And now the hope is gone
There's nothing left for me to do"
This part just hit me pretty hard.
I just lost a really, really close friend of mine. Someone I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. But I had built up so much in my head, I had an entire life with her in my head, and that blinded me from the red flags.
She turned on me, and has threatened to ban me from the community we met in, the Community I helped her become leader of, if I step out of line and challenge her again.
Oddly enough, I've mostly moved on. I have a good grip on my emotions most of the time, so while I didn't see this coming, I was able to handle it fairly well all things considered. But I don't think I can ever quite get over her. I mean, I had an entire life with her in it. My entire future was planned out, and she was there. And now she's not.
That's the hardest thing for me to deal with. If she wants out, I can let her go, I just want her to be happy, I'll let her go. But I don't know what now. How do I reframe my life without her? Do I pretend she never existed? No. Do I replace her? No. Do I pretend like she didn't hurt me and try and be friends again? No. How do I move on?
But I'm glad this happened now, rather than a few months ago, when I first started loving myself. If this had happened before I loved myself, I don't know what I'd do. But I do know one thing:
I don't need her love
YESSSS YOU GOOOO
I'm so proud of you
Well this was a whirlwind of emotions. I’ve just finished watching all of the songs to the show and I reallllly would love to see the play live, or should I say ...... LIIIIIIIVE!
