I think the worst thing about KPop fans is the fixation on their relationships. I understand many people were invested in the boys; but they are men now. I can't imagine anyone in the late 20s and 30s not being in a relationship. I'm not saying the US fans don't have similar sentiments but the obsession with Kpop idols is very intense. I can't imagine having that type of lifestyle where everything is scrutinized. They are adults, let's treat them like adults. Thanks for sharing, but I will say this. I don't think it's that uncommon for people to be single in their 20's or early 30's. Not everyone chooses or happens to be in a relationship at that age.
@cstarv Yeah, the US fans can obsess also. Stalkers are a world wide phenomenon sadly, but aside from the ones that obviously need some sort of help, we have more of a barrier. Unless, you live in New York or LA, you are bound to see a celebrity rarely. At events, signings, conventions, etc, you can't just run up to them. My issue stems more from what the agencies/companies do. The idea that the idols have to refrain from what is a basic human need (personal interaction, be it friendship or more involved) is sad seeing how young the people are when they debut. They say it's so the fans will flock and stay, but there are obviously idols that are family men as well. Taeyang has dropped in popularity at all. So it can be done.
I actually feel sorry for jimin's father to have to see all those hateful nasty comments about his son, as a parent it has to be hurtful everyone has feelings. The amount of hate that jimin is receiving is really off the charts, like you said we just have to keep supporting them and try to ignore all the haters but I'm also praying for the families.
Bts family members should be off limits. They are not idols. They have every right to be proud of their son or brother. There are toxic and unhinged people in every fandom. Even army. The obsession of believing somehow you own a person or people boggles the mind. From telling them they can’t cuss, drink, smoke, sing what they want, collab with who they want, be friends with who they choose, or to love who they choose is so twisted. Bts has dealt with hate and jealousy from the beginning from antis. But this is a new level of crazy. When it comes to jk and Jimin . For years we’ve known their families are close and that they support jk and Jimin and are fond of them. The shipping fandom is out of control. I remember the post of hate and horrible things being said about jk’s mom because she mentioned jimin’s name on a phone call during ays. Craziness. Not saying one fandom is worse but my goodness to write a book of hate? To attack a father? A mom? It’s way out of control and very scary. Jk needs to be careful about giving too much insight to his new home. Saying don’t visit is almost like a dare to people that are sick. The company needs to do more before something bad happens.
It doesn't matter who your bias is. We should be supporting each and every one of these men. They achieved fame together through fighting together. Yes, they are extremely talented and obviously successful by themselves, but have repeatedly said they can't wait to be back together. Why can't people enjoy a successful group without trying to break them apart? I completely agree with you. Their relationship statuses are not really our business. I just want to see them happily settled in their personal lives.
@nikaywright I agree. I think most of the musical genres are now covered by them, aside from Country. It's easier to go from country to other genres than the other way around. People have done it, but not many have been successful. I have even started listening to people/groups they collaborate with. I was just listening to Neva Play while shoveling the walkway. I think among the "ships", there are healthy ones. Those are the ones that are actual performance/writing units. (Sope, Vmin, etc.) I love the idea of a Taekook song being done, but beyond that, I will not push for anything else.

Well... for one he is serving which shortend the time online. He also admitted more than once on loosing a password. As a workaholic he is also almost always doing something and than there is family & friends & downtime - which means there is not that much time left.

I never said he can not go online only that it extremly limits it - especially since he is in a border base in an extremly criticla unit. He also seems to have no interest to do it on holiday. Mentally unstable adults as well. It’s bizarre and unfortunate. I love Jimin, V, and Jungkook and how much they share some of their behind the scenes and thoughts with us. But I worry that the unhealthy obsessions and delusions of certain “fans” of theirs would make them pull back and be a lot more distant for the sake of their own mental wellness and safety. Which I wouldn’t blame any of the members for. I wish everyone would understand how rare that really is and not take that for granted by pushing their “fantasies” onto actual human beings they don’t know. I just want all of the members to be able to enjoy their fame, enjoy their art and fandom connection, and enjoy their lives outside of all of that. But I guess that’s my own single fantasy I put onto BTS: that they can live their lives as close to how they want as possible. Make music, fall in love, maintain their health, make it through their service well, not be disrespected or harmed by weirdos, etc.
Don't pressume they're teenagers. I've encountered grown even married women with kids who are THAT immature. Delusions that they're gonna die when a member's military enlistment's coming up, delusions that 2 members are hooking up (or another member is wrecking their shipped members), etc. People call out teenagers when it's grown ass broads feeling entitled to push their opinions bec of their age, as if they now know better bec they're past the teenage years lol
I'm afraid for them. I was for a time into figure skating and one of the best is/was Yuzuru Hanyu. In summer of 2023 (?) he announced he was marrying the love of his life. A few weeks later he announced his divorce because she - and her family - had been haunted by "fans" and reporter and made their live hell. That is scarry. I really really hope that the partners are entertainers themselves and know how to deal with that BS.

I’m new to K-pop, BTS and I am a Jimin bias. Have never seen shipping before this and the degree of hate that is directed at Artists and their families because of it. First off, I don’t understand it and secondly it’s unacceptable to me as a person, especially when it is directed at family members.
I'm a Jimin bias as well. Shipping in K-pop is where fans think two members are cute together. It should end there but has evolved into channels creating posts with stories and photos where the two members are in love. Some fans really believe this. The Taekookers that she mentioned, Tae (V) and Jungkook shippers, feel Jimin is a homewrecker in that relationship. They have attacked Jimin and called him names, and have turned many against him. That's bad enough, but then they attacked his parents. Jimin's dad has his Cafe with photos and items of both Jimin and Jungkook. Jimin and Jungkook's families are both from Busan. The comments against Jimin's dad are vile and upsetting. It's bad enough that they attack the members, but they really cross the line when they attack family members. The company needs to help protect Jimin's family.

As an outside observer of kpop groups, BTS, and the ‘shipping’ culture in general, it’s really super obvious to me that some people go down a rabbit hole with their favourite groups, ships, or artists, and they become totally blind to how the EXACT same things can also be applied to other groups and ship. Sadly the ‘toxic’ shippers cannot see past their own narrow view because they choose not to see what is going on around them. So they will always think THEIR group is the best, THEIR favourite idol is THE best, makes the best music,has the most awards, or has the most number 1 this that and the other or THEIR ship is the most real etc etc I put this down to age and lack of reasoning because it comes across as super immature and very unworldly.
And even today they faked screenshots of Jimins dad following a shipper. He was not because I even looked a few days ago because I didn't know if the second IG account was legitimate. He was not following a shipper at all.
The industry created this sorry situation by forcing group members to practice the agencies’ warped “fan service”, compounding the problem by not allowing their idols to date or have normal private lives like other humans. These practices have resulted in the fanaticism we are seeing today. The industry must realize that it is now time to self-correct and drastically change these policies. This is most decidedly NOT entertainment and is inhumane.
It is true that "fanservice" is a thing in Kpop, however I don't think that BTS has ever been really into it and/or Bighit has made them do it. The members are clearly close and do not need to pretend that they are close. They joke and have fun together. I still remember when Jimin became almost offended by the notion of acting according to what others (fans, the company etc.) want and said that he does not act, it's simply who he is. Taehyung straight up told a fan to "stop being in their imagination" etc. etc. The fans need to respect them. Imagine telling someone that they are acting or trying to tell someone how to be with someone else. It's sick. When it comes to BTS and its members, people use "fanservice" as a way to deny the genuineness of their actions and bonds. Again, imagine telling someone that they are not allowed hang around with someone or talk to another person simply because YOU (a fan) don't want them to. Absolutely delusional.

The members of BTS definitely like to lean into flirtation sometimes but it’s literally because that what happens when goofy and close friends are around each other all the time and feel comfortable. Not really...this happens in every fandom from music to TV shows to anime, east and west. It gets especially icky when it's about real people, not characters
All fandoms seem to have extremely toxic factions, army, shippers and solo’s ALL have toxic fans. The taekookers, jikooker and toxic solo’s are the most vocal in their unfiltered comments against each other. Not just the taekookers doing this to jm’s father but the jikookers have been writing terrible comments on badalee’s dance challenge with jk after badalee did one with Tae. But just see what kind of shameful comments anti’s write in kpop. We are in danger of generalising and branding everyone in each camp as being toxic when it’s only a few who behave badly. If you’re a solo stan it is not automatic that you’re toxic and hate on other members and everyone needs to keep that in mind. The worst thing Kpop invented was fan service and encouraged shipping. I look forward to the day when the members have relationships with who ever they want. For me, it means that they are happy and will have personal lives outside of their careers.
You predicted that BTS family members would be dragged into the fray before long and you were right. I feel sorry for Jimin’s father, how unnecessary and childish. Also, I remember RM one time saying he wasn’t going to get married for 100 years, he couldn’t imagine bringing someone into all this. This actually started with "Yaoi" Manga, etc. Basically a Boy's Love genre. Idk how to properly explain this. But, I think it's a fictional way for girls to explore the idea that whoever *could* have such a relationship with another boy but it's the plot not the ending result that is the major draw. The journey, not the destination. It's believed that shipping is an ugly offshoot of this. But where shipping comes from is a very young demographic of girls who are obsessed with Yaoi. But it's also about picking their favorites rather than anything grounded in reality. It's unfortunate that Jungkook has been placed in the center of almost all BTS shipping. But a lot of jimin too. Jimin x RM? Ahaha. Those people are way more grounded because to them jimin and rm is a complete fiction but fun to think about nonetheless. These are harmless and use these ships for writing fictional stories about them. Whereas somewhere along the line the TaeKook ship just exploded. These are teenage girls (mostly) that are obsessed with fictional worlds. They picked their favorite bts members and wove a whole world around them and made it a reality in their minds. There are certain youtubers who are turning it into some sort of War and whipping up the negativity, while attempting to harness all those girls into an army of maniacal followers. And it's working. I often think that these TH-camrs may not be so passionate but know where their demographic is and exploit it for their own gain. Which unfortunately has some very real consequences. This is in tandem with the subject of this video causing this ship to double down. I encourage people who want to try and understand shipper mindsets more to look up "YAOI" as a sort of primer on where this seems to have originated. This will help you see where it went from harmless fiction to very real shipping wars because of the combination of what she explains here. But, let's not forget that shipping is very lucrative for the labels or they would actually take a stance in attempting to stop it. The main question you gotta ask is WHY the labels never attempt to quell the negative shipping. Why indeed. ...... Okay, so I used to be able to write well enough to remember all the words to get my point across. Unfortunately my cognitive issues are getting in the way so please forgive me for being unable to communicate properly.
The worst is that if someone tried to stop the shipping, these fans will accused them of gay haters or homophobic. These idols can't even be close friends with each other without being shipped. When they eventually got married to a woman, these ships fans hate them like crazy.

Completely agree with you, Letitia. They are emotionally ill and should get professional help. Seems to be the case with common people as well as with famous personalities. If one has success in something, haters come out of the woodwork. One soon learns who is one's true friends.
I'm a taekook biased and I adore their interaction but there is a limit for everything.. I love all the members and I wish them all happiness.. I can't understand the urge to hate on anyone.. jimin is the sweetest person ever and his parents should not have to deal with this kind of people.. I really hope once they get out of the military that they all get married.. the idea of them being happily married make my heart warm 💕

Most of them are inside the fandom. Pretending to be armies, difficult to find out. Big bts account don’t defend him, we didn’t see the movement for JM the same they did for Yoongi. When comes to him, big fanbase shut up. That’s why JM solos are very protective of him. I became an army one year ago,and I dig deeper as I wanted to know then before they leave military, and I noticed things from original content, yes JM and JK are very close, their behavior with each other did catch my eyes and made me think “ maybe” they are something more or not, but the words , and things they say , makes you wonder. Like AYS,I’m an adult, experienced, got eyes in my face, i did wonder yes, but I kept digging deeper into their music and art. They are unbelievable force as 7. Solo era is the time I have arrived, and their talent individually is off charts. JK came live during a time that JM was being attacked by those mentally unstable people and his father, but that’s being going forever . They have been doing horrible and horrific things about his dad and family. Most of them are so called armies or haters despised by armies. Too many. His father can’t love his son, without attracting haters. It’s insane what he goes through. Reason why his solo fanbase is rising and fight for him as they got sick and tired to watch it all happening and ARMY, not doing anything. It really is crazy to see how far people will go to cause harm. I truly think this is all about pathological control. If your idols are 'dating' each other (only the right ones of course) they will not be dating in secret. This is a fantasy, it is not real. 'Fans' don't get to do this. Anti fans needing to control things should look at their own lives, and control themselves. Fans get to enjoy music and artistry, not assert sick control over an artist's life.

And these dreadful 'Shippers' are what was previous referred to gossping old maids on their door steps making up juicy stories about the neighbours eg her next door is having an affair with the postman/milkman or the guy 4 houses down. to be honest I always find it weird how taekkok still exist, didn't we all se V and Jenny holding ends in Paris? even if he didn't confirm anything, either of them has to, down images speak louder? it was in Korea news, Elle France magazine wrote about it last year when they interviewed her , so I don't get why they want V and Jk in a romantic relationship. its a shame, those people really need help.
It troubles me when a specific issue is being addressed and ppl come in with their, "Well, what about this person or these ppl?" I'm not saying the other shippers or hate directed at other members doesn't happen, but don't distract or dismiss the topic at hand. It is clearly getting way out of control and if you can't acknowledge that, and your first inclination is to not necessarily defend, but shift blame or focus to other shippers or members, then that says something. Any hate towards any member is bad, and it isn't new, but if you dont think it's escalated to unprecedented levels then you are mistaken. I think Jikook serving together really set those groups off, then there was AYS, which got both ships triggered. Any sort of behavior or statement that work against their narratives, whether it be shippers or solos is attacked and it is just sad. Members should be able to interact freely without it resulting in this chaos and blind hatred. Unfortunately, ppl who are crazy don't think they are crazy, so they wont be changing it anytime soon. Anytime I have stuck up for a member I have been called a shipper or a solo stan, and I think that deters ppl from challenging them because I've rarely had anyone stick up for me when it happens. I've had someone impersonate my account and have seen more and more ppl pretending to be a shipper or solo fan only to then throw shade at the ship or member they stan. The effort made by these ppl is alarming.
As a fandom, we all need to get to the bottom of this and figure out a strategy to combat this "bully culture." I don't think it has much to do with shipping per se. Where are the majority of these hateful people from?? Has anyone looked into this?

Yes you’re right. That’s terrible the harassment and death threats. Hype and they themselves could put a stop to this. Neither has denied or confirmed the relationships. It all started heavily because of a flower photo arrangement that the ZM posted without any card or anything they just advertising a desert and they use that arrangement as a prop, but a jkkr shipper account said that they where the ones that sent that arrangement and the other shippers (you know who I’m referring) and jk solos thought that jimin father was giving like a 👍🏽 to them, when the cafe staff does that a lot, they don’t share the cards just the flower… and BOOOMMMM!! Agree. Brushing off the problem and ignoring isn't solving the problem. Attacking them just creates more hate. So maybe we should just add more positive and loving comments in response, correcting the info while not attacking. Hate against hate never works but love and positivity will overshadow negativity and hate.

Its a double edged sword to talk about this sickness for big accounts. Not saying I agree with dismissing the problem but they also get attacked mercilessly by the same crazies and not everyone is as strong to not let it bother them. There needs to be something done about hate comments and threats against any Artist or anyone in general.People need to be banned from social media platforms and if it is really severe also fined and if it continues even jailed. Fans need to respect the Artists. Nobody needs to know anything about their private lives unless the Artist wishes to announce it. On a slightly similar note, I started getting into Stray Kids a while back; frankly it’s some of the most concerning levels of shipping I’ve seen in k-pop. And I say this as someone who’s cringed through endless bts delulu shippers’ posts and behavior for years. This isn’t an attempt to pit any fandoms against another, nor is it to diminish or excuse the severity of other toxic shippers-they’re all terrible. That being said, I instantly noticed the fan service behavior of SKZ is highly leaned into more than average, similar to the culture of shipping Thai romance/bl actors-where media, their companies, fans, and actors/artists themselves encourage them to be together or flirt off screen or for the majority of their careers. Sometimes I wonder, how many of the skz fans would be their fans without that kind of consistent fan service and enabling of shipping from members. If you’re a casual skz fan, most of what you’ll see is solo and ship behavior thinly veiled by humor/memes if not outright calling members gay. Even funny compilations highly focus on it, often using the excuse of “the members do it themselves!”. Even during MAMA voting season, solo visuals and ships appeared louder than praising members for the literal music. Then everyone acted surprised when fan calls turned creepy because of course the shippers were able to have a platform directly interacting with members. Army is typically very vocal and aware of the harm in shipping members, solo antics, etc. and how to navigate them. Sometimes I fear that it’s so inherently ingrained in Stay that something will implode. Hope this problem gets corrected for all fandoms, but overall I’m glad everyone is addressing it consistently in Army. I dunno. Just a rant.

ARMY report accounts were selective this way IN IGNORING only one member's report account while giving free platform to "people" hating on JIMIN in ARMY's airspace. Why do you think a lot of ARMY claimed they didn't know about the harassment happening to JIMIN's father w/c also include JIMIN for more than half a day BUT very quick to look into the harassment that happened to JK/his family when they were but a retaliation for the earlier harassment of JM & his father? ARMY should address their TAEKOOK issue for real, same group that sent those letters to SK Min. of Defense prior to their enlistment that could've been dangerous in JIMIN's case since it puts JIMIN in a negative light as if he's a deviant. What I always see is that they claim that their "favorite" is being hurt , not supported, boycotted by the company or other members, etc. For example, when SUGA came with his album, they claimed that he was trespassing or overshadowing Jimin. And at this point, they should know that Jimin and JK get along so well that they became best friends. Otherwise they would have not done all these things together. V was there for a bit but he had recording in Europe and Japan and he had his relationship that to this day they deny because they ship him. I must also add that solo stans are different than shippers. My friend became a solo stan when she watched JK documentary. She was taken hard haha. But she supports other members musics too and came with me to RPWP twice. Shippers may or may not be ARMY as I saw in a video with proof that people gather online to go and stir chaos when any other member comes with albums. I don't mind them because like Jin said. People are actually looking at his tattoo and now saying that the J on his ring finger stands for Jin because Jin and JK are married. This is just crazy. Since the guys have been in the military it's like everyone has gone berserk. It's like they were waiting for the guys to leave for them to go out of their minds. What surprised me was JINKOOK, because Jin has always taken care of JK since he joined the group. He's even said on how many occasions that he raised JK right. So these people out there need to get their head examined. They've gone loco. I agree, people need to respect their personal space and lives. Toxic shippers, toxic solos, and fake "ARMY" have been attacking BTS members, their friends, and their family for years now. I think at this point all 7 members and those in their personal lives have received threats of some kind so it's an ongoing and vile problem. Jikookers/Taekookers/toxic solos turn everything into how can they prove their ship, degrade any member who threatens their ship including the members in the ship itself, and/or prove that they stan the most successful/talented in BTS. It's all about the toxic person's personal self worth & identity and they just use a chosen member to leech on and feed that need. It's clear that these toxic elements don't actually stan/support said member. Even if you look at their social media posts/videos, it's all about how to turn that member's news/artistry into something that supports their ship, how to use it to degrade another member's artistry, and/or use it to support whatever agenda the toxic person has. Otherwise they just ignore that member's accomplishments or frankly invent something that their fellow minions will gobble up and run with. The only thing that will probably finally get rid of them will be when all 7 members openly date since toxic shippers appear to be the most vocal and vile. Sure the toxic elements will throw a fit but hopefully as they exit the fandom and never return. We desperately need that fandom space cleanse.

Shippers.....a word---a compound word that I can't get an adequate translation for in my mother tongue .....translates as a person who ships something.....But what specifically!??? In fact, it all boils down to selling fog, delusion, illusion, fantasy, and, in the last resort, your own prejudices. Because who are the.... shippers.....where do they come from, they all supposedly have reliable sources....two members wear a round earring on their left ear and that is proof that they are in a romantic relationship (I just roll my eyes when I read something like this ). Chemistry among the members...of course it exists, if it wasn't there the group wouldn't have worked this well and for so long. That chemistry is not romantic, but creative. Without a special chemistry, it's hard to fit 7 strong creative people.... Solo career is just a continuation of their creativity... Therefore when I see these people complain about shippers I wonder why Hybe doesn't give members autonomy to be as artists who don't have to comply with fs. There is a survey that was sent out in 2017 by hybe regarding this .
They claim two members are in a romantic/sexual relationship and create theories and find "evidence" for it. Usually it starts as fun or a joke but lots of times people slip into believing it, and get very upset when anything from reality threatens that fantasy

That's sad to here that the solo fans are harassing other members family. I hadn't heard that. I enjoy all 7 members, and am happy for each one. The members solo songs I have listened to, I have loved some of the songs an other songs are not my style of music. If I enjoyed a song or the mv then I make a comment of how much I enjoyed it, otherwise I don't say anything at all. I would rather give positive comments instead of negative comments. I wish everyone was like that. I like the idea of posting 2 or 3 positive comments to every bad comment.

I think the worst thing about KPop fans is the fixation on their relationships. I understand many people were invested in the boys; but they are men now. I can't imagine anyone in the late 20s and 30s not being in a relationship. I'm not saying the US fans don't have similar sentiments but the obsession with Kpop idols is very intense. @cstarv Yeah, the US fans can obsess also. Stalkers are a world wide phenomenon sadly, but aside from the ones that obviously need some sort of help, we have more of a barrier. Unless, you live in New York or LA, you are bound to see a celebrity rarely. At events, signings, conventions, etc, you can't just run up to them.
My issue stems more from what the agencies/companies do. The idea that the idols have to refrain from what is a basic human need (personal interaction, be it friendship or more involved) is sad seeing how young the people are when they debut. They say it's so the fans will flock and stay, but there are obviously idols that are family men as well. Taeyang has dropped in popularity at all. So it can be done.

Bts family members should be off limits. They are not idols. They have every right to be proud of their son or brother. There are toxic and unhinged people in every fandom. Even army. The obsession of believing somehow you own a person or people boggles the mind. From telling them they can’t cuss, drink, smoke, sing what they want, collab with who they want, be friends with who they choose, or to love who they choose is so twisted. Bts has dealt with hate and jealousy from the beginning from antis. But this is a new level of crazy. When it comes to jk and Jimin . For years we’ve known their families are close and that they support jk and Jimin and are fond of them. The shipping fandom is out of control. I remember the post of hate and horrible things being said about jk’s mom because she mentioned jimin’s name on a phone call during ays. Craziness. Not saying one fandom is worse but my goodness to write a book of hate? To attack a father? A mom? It’s way out of control and very scary. Jk needs to be careful about giving too much insight to his new home. Saying don’t visit is almost like a dare to people that are sick. The company needs to do more before something bad happens.

Mentally unstable adults as well. It’s bizarre and unfortunate. I love Jimin, V, and Jungkook and how much they share some of their behind the scenes and thoughts with us. But I worry that the unhealthy obsessions and delusions of certain “fans” of theirs would make them pull back and be a lot more distant for the sake of their own mental wellness and safety. Which I wouldn’t blame any of the members for. I wish everyone would understand how rare that really is and not take that for granted by pushing their “fantasies” onto actual human beings they don’t know.
I just want all of the members to be able to enjoy their fame, enjoy their art and fandom connection, and enjoy their lives outside of all of that. But I guess that’s my own single fantasy I put onto BTS: that they can live their lives as close to how they want as possible. Make music, fall in love, maintain their health, make it through their service well, not be disrespected or harmed by weirdos, etc.
Don't pressume they're teenagers. I've encountered grown even married women with kids who are THAT immature. Delusions that they're gonna die when a member's military enlistment's coming up, delusions that 2 members are hooking up (or another member is wrecking their shipped members), etc. People call out teenagers when it's grown ass broads feeling entitled to push their opinions bec of their age, as if they now know better bec they're past the teenage years lol

I was for a time into figure skating and one of the best is/was Yuzuru Hanyu. In summer of 2023 (?) he announced he was marrying the love of his life.

I’m new to K-pop, BTS and I am a Jimin bias. Have never seen shipping before this and the degree of hate that is directed at Artists and their families because of it. First off, I don’t understand it and secondly it’s unacceptable to me as a person, especially when it is directed at family members.

I'm a Jimin bias as well. Shipping in K-pop is where fans think two members are cute together. It should end there but has evolved into channels creating posts with stories and photos where the two members are in love. Some fans really believe this. The Taekookers that she mentioned, Tae (V) and Jungkook shippers, feel Jimin is a homewrecker in that relationship. They have attacked Jimin and called him names, and have turned many against him. That's bad enough, but then they attacked his parents. Jimin's dad has his Cafe with photos and items of both Jimin and Jungkook. Jimin and Jungkook's families are both from Busan. The comments against Jimin's dad are vile and upsetting. It's bad enough that they attack the members, but they really cross the line when they attack family members. The company needs to help protect Jimin's family.

As an outside observer of kpop groups, BTS, and the ‘shipping’ culture in general, it’s really super obvious to me that some people go down a rabbit hole with their favourite groups, ships, or artists, and they become totally blind to how the EXACT same things can also be applied to other groups and ship. Sadly the ‘toxic’ shippers cannot see past their own narrow view because they choose not to see what is going on around them. So they will always think THEIR group is the best, THEIR favourite idol is THE best, makes the best music,has the most awards, or has the most number 1 this that and the other or THEIR ship is the most real etc etc I put this down to age and lack of reasoning because it comes across as super immature and very unworldly.
And even today they faked screenshots of Jimins dad following a shipper. He was not because I even looked a few days ago because I didn't know if the second IG account was legitimate. He was not following a shipper at all.
The industry created this sorry situation by forcing group members to practice the agencies’ warped “fan service”, compounding the problem by not allowing their idols to date or have normal private lives like other humans. These practices have resulted in the fanaticism we are seeing today. The industry must realize that it is now time to self-correct and drastically change these policies. It is true that "fanservice" is a thing in Kpop, however I don't think that BTS has ever been really into it and/or Bighit has made them do it. The members are clearly close and do not need to pretend that they are close. They joke and have fun together. I still remember when Jimin became almost offended by the notion of acting according to what others (fans, the company etc.) want and said that he does not act, it's simply who he is. Taehyung straight up told a fan to "stop being in their imagination" etc. etc.
The fans need to respect them. Imagine telling someone that they are acting or trying to tell someone how to be with someone else. It's sick. The taekookers, jikooker and toxic solo’s are the most vocal in their unfiltered comments against each other. Not just the taekookers doing this to jm’s father but the jikookers have been writing terrible comments on badalee’s dance challenge with jk after badalee did one with Tae. But just see what kind of shameful comments anti’s write in kpop. We are in danger of generalising and branding everyone in each camp as being toxic when it’s only a few who behave badly. If you’re a solo stan it is not automatic that you’re toxic and hate on other members and everyone needs to keep that in mind.

This actually started with "Yaoi" Manga, etc. Basically a Boy's Love genre. Idk how to properly explain this. But, I think it's a fictional way for girls to explore the idea that whoever *could* have such a relationship with another boy but it's the plot not the ending result that is the major draw. The journey, not the destination.
It's believed that shipping is an ugly offshoot of this. But where shipping comes from is a very young demographic of girls who are obsessed with Yaoi. But it's also about picking their favorites rather than anything grounded in reality.
It's unfortunate that Jungkook has been placed in the center of almost all BTS shipping. But a lot of jimin too.
Jimin x RM? Ahaha. Those people are way more grounded because to them jimin and rm is a complete fiction but fun to think about nonetheless. These are harmless and use these ships for writing fictional stories about them.
Whereas somewhere along the line the TaeKook ship just exploded. These are teenage girls (mostly) that are obsessed with fictional worlds. They picked their favorite bts members and wove a whole world around them and made it a reality in their minds.
There are certain youtubers who are turning it into some sort of War and whipping up the negativity, while attempting to harness all those girls into an army of maniacal followers. And it's working.
I often think that these TH-camrs may not be so passionate but know where their demographic is and exploit it for their own gain. Which unfortunately has some very real consequences.
This is in tandem with the subject of this video causing this ship to double down.
I encourage people who want to try and understand shipper mindsets more to look up "YAOI" as a sort of primer on where this seems to have originated. This will help you see where it went from harmless fiction to very real shipping wars because of the combination of what she explains here.
But, let's not forget that shipping is very lucrative for the labels or they would actually take a stance in attempting to stop it. The main question you gotta ask is WHY the labels never attempt to quell the negative shipping. Why indeed.

It troubles me when a specific issue is being addressed and ppl come in with their, "Well, what about this person or these ppl?" I'm not saying the other shippers or hate directed at other members doesn't happen, but don't distract or dismiss the topic at hand. It is clearly getting way out of control and if you can't acknowledge that, and your first inclination is to not necessarily defend, but shift blame or focus to other shippers or members, then that says something. Any hate towards any member is bad, and it isn't new, but if you dont think it's escalated to unprecedented levels then you are mistaken. Agree. Brushing off the problem and ignoring isn't solving the problem. Attacking them just creates more hate. So maybe we should just add more positive and loving comments in response, correcting the info while not attacking. On a slightly similar note, I started getting into Stray Kids a while back; frankly it’s some of the most concerning levels of shipping I’ve seen in k-pop. And I say this as someone who’s cringed through endless bts delulu shippers’ posts and behavior for years.
This isn’t an attempt to pit any fandoms against another, nor is it to diminish or excuse the severity of other toxic shippers-they’re all terrible. That being said, I instantly noticed the fan service behavior of SKZ is highly leaned into more than average, similar to the culture of shipping Thai romance/bl actors-where media, their companies, fans, and actors/artists themselves encourage them to be together or flirt off screen or for the majority of their careers. Sometimes I wonder, how many of the skz fans would be their fans without that kind of consistent fan service and enabling of shipping from members.
If you’re a casual skz fan, most of what you’ll see is solo and ship behavior thinly veiled by humor/memes if not outright calling members gay. Even funny compilations highly focus on it, often using the excuse of “the members do it themselves!”. Even during MAMA voting season, solo visuals and ships appeared louder than praising members for the literal music.
Then everyone acted surprised when fan calls turned creepy because of course the shippers were able to have a platform directly interacting with members.
Army is typically very vocal and aware of the harm in shipping members, solo antics, etc. and how to navigate them. Sometimes I fear that it’s so inherently ingrained in Stay that something will implode. Hope this problem gets corrected for all fandoms, but overall I’m glad everyone is addressing it consistently in Army. I dunno. Just a rant.
Shipping is fed by all of the slowed down edits.. It's a reflection of poor digital literacy that people don't recognize fake or AI generated content and it's a form of sexual harassment at this point.

ARMY should address their TAEKOOK issue for real, same group that sent those letters to SK Min. of Defense prior to their enlistment that could've been dangerous in JIMIN's case since it puts JIMIN in a negative light as if he's a deviant. ARMY big accounts cultured this culture & were even part of those shippers club w/in their fandom, they are not blameless in this.

This is why people dislike shippers. What I always see is that they claim that their "favorite" is being hurt , not supported, boycotted by the company or other members, etc. For example, when SUGA came with his album, they claimed that he was trespassing or overshadowing Jimin.
And at this point, they should know that Jimin and JK get along so well that they became best friends. Otherwise they would have not done all these things together. V was there for a bit but he had recording in Europe and Japan and he had his relationship that to this day they deny because they ship him.
I must also add that solo stans are different than shippers. My friend became a solo stan when she watched JK documentary. She was taken hard haha. But she supports other members musics too and came with me to RPWP twice. Toxic shippers, toxic solos, and fake "ARMY" have been attacking BTS members, their friends, and their family for years now. I think at this point all 7 members and those in their personal lives have received threats of some kind so it's an ongoing and vile problem. Jikookers/Taekookers/toxic solos turn everything into how can they prove their ship, degrade any member who threatens their ship including the members in the ship itself, and/or prove that they stan the most successful/talented in BTS. It's all about the toxic person's personal self worth & identity and they just use a chosen member to leech on and feed that need. It's clear that these toxic elements don't actually stan/support said member. Even if you look at their social media posts/videos, it's all about how to turn that member's news/artistry into something that supports their ship, how to use it to degrade another member's artistry, and/or use it to support whatever agenda the toxic person has. Otherwise they just ignore that member's accomplishments or frankly invent something that their fellow minions will gobble up and run with. The only thing that will probably finally get rid of them will be when all 7 members openly date since toxic shippers appear to be the most vocal and vile. Sure the toxic elements will throw a fit but hopefully as they exit the fandom and never return. We desperately need that fandom space cleanse.

That's sad to here that the solo fans are harassing other members family. I hadn't heard that. I enjoy all 7 members, and am happy for each one. The members solo songs I have listened to, I have loved some of the songs an other songs are not my style of music. If I enjoyed a song or the mv then I make a comment of how much I enjoyed it, otherwise I don't say anything at all. I would rather give positive comments instead of negative comments. I wish everyone was like that. I like the idea of posting 2 or 3 positive comments to every bad comment.
