Today I learned: apparently item combos usually end up being from throws, can't wait for whenever bobomb is up So when bobomb is around I have a feeling that not using it and turning the stage into a minefield might actually be the play
I would love to see "Spirit Breakers" where you both choose the "Dark Emperor" spirit then assign spirits like "Instadrop" or "extra double jump" spirits and competitively use those spirit exclusive abilities.
The reason I say use "Dark Emperor" is because it has 3 support slots and it's attack and defense stats cancel out because the formula is 25 atk points on a spirit equals to 16.7 def points. This makes it so damage calculation doesn't change much but you now can use all the fun support spirits without messing up the power levels of attacks.
Got a BJR zero to death, as usual: SH dair>drill>footstool>z-drop>landing dair>throw>f-smash. Since the item’s so broken I wanted to make every attack in the combo involve either the drill item or jr’s drills as an added challenge I’ve got something extra special in mind for the ray gun

Haha I think we'll be sticking with the top 3 tiers of that tems tier list we made for now. I can't see the future, but I don't think a special flag episode would be all that interesting 😭
@@WhyDo For special flags you'd probably have to make your own game mode for it. Like custom stage where you have to redeem the special flags within certain zones. Plus you could have only one stock to start and a pretty sizable handicap of 50 or 60%, which would mean you'd need to either focus on stock tanking or trying to kill your opponents pretty quickly. Otherwise it'd be pretty boring yeah since there isn't much tech you can do with it except for inkling side b and then chugging down those special flags like hell.
I honestly think Item Breakers improves your Competitive play, hear me out: 1. It teaches you where characters/players are most vulnerable (WhyDo for example is very susceptible to SD-ing for style, so he's very much into string combos). 2. It shows every character's effective range. Most of these combos? Can be done against a Diddy, ROB, Peach, etc. 3. It's way less stressful and still a blast to watch/play; seriously EVO pick this up and have counter picks for which item is available!
Ok no joke, I feel like my item play in general has gotten significantly better since starting this series. It's an oddly effective way to practice lmao
I am very interested to see what you guys are able to come up with when the Ray Gun episode drops. Ray Guns got heavily nerfed ever since after Brawl, since the shots can no longer carry opponents to the side blastzones, and Ultimate made it so that the opponent pops more upwards after every shot.

Idea: every couple episodes do one where you use the past 5 or so items all at once with items on low. It would be neat to see all of the items you practiced with combining to make cool combos
Sure, Drill lets you get cheesy combos and kills. But have you talked about the absolute mental and emotional damage it does to your opponent? Especially when you get carried off the side
I have a few things to say about this one- 1- Does Bones do commentary on actual sets because they are on point with the improv 2- When do we get to see the power of Fieri X™ and Die Fieri unleashed 3- Where do I recommend more niche music for these videos, because after hearing Feisty Flowers in this one I have a mighty need for more underappreciated video game bangers playing as somebody gets their ankles removed by The Hot Item of the Week™
Kinda scared this series will lose its steam and devolve into random battering items in different episodes being thrown, should try more unique items like the tanooki leaf mega mushroom and metal box, or combine items, the timer may be overpowered to the point of being somewhat lame but throw a few Bob ombs and a bunny hood into the combo and it’s way more balanced and far more interesting
If you ever do an Item Breakers with gun like items again you should consider doing a set with the Phantom Thieves spirit equipped, which if you don't know, has your character automatically pick up items.
Cool. The throw of that item is stronger than you would think. Sure you can throw it without the drill and it’s strong, that’s kinda of a mechanic, so it makes sense, but I feel like you think more about the drill itself oftentimes.
I was always unsure about watching your videos, I think I watched a couple before this, but my brain though you'd be somewhat of a "content creator stuck in 2015, who can't move on from their past formula of content creation" but the second I heard Kubrick and the beast I knew I had to subscribe.
Sadly we just recorded the ray gun episode, BUT!! I've actually been playing way more Ryu lately since the buff, loving how much better red fireballs are with the extra frame advantage. In fact it could probably combo into item toss now that I think about it...!!

Man this series is a blast, you guys are super good with items and its so fun listening to your screaming and yelling as you body each other with rapidly moving pointy objects. Editing on point too, but I bet you could make stuff funnier if you emphasized more words with onscreen text, black-and-white cuts, vine boom sound affects and funny zoom ins to spice it up. Just a thought
