i've been to this festival 2 times now and never got disappointed! for the prices, they are still cheaper than other bigger fests like Nova Rock or Kaltenbach.. i think its decent. i really recommend stayin for the whole 3 days, we've been on the other side of the campsite, very very calm, nice people around, no loud music till late hours. heavy rain and bad weather could be the only problem, it's kind of a lottery game every year haha, so bring good gear and rainproof clothes all in all the best festival in Austria in my opinion greetings from salzburg
Thanks! I definitely plan stay for the whole 3 days next time. The weather in summer is always a gamble, but I got hit with crazy storms at Brutal Assault before haha, so I guess you can’t escape it wherever you are!
This was my first time at Area 53, first time in Austria, and only my second festival ever. You were not the only non-German speaker there! I flew in from Vancouver Canada for the festival plus a few days to see the sights. I was very impressed at the layout, the people, and the quality of the lineup. I was there to see one band in particular, but also saw some other favourites. I shared an Air B&B with some German friends I had not yet met in person, so this truly was an adventure! Area 53 is definitely on my radar for future years.
@@joescompass It all depends on the lineup, and whether Sabaton Open Air runs next year. I am considering just moving to Europe just so that I can see all of my bands without a 15 hour flight each way.
very cool Festival report, I also was only just one day there (the first day) but I partied for 3 days. Nice location and good sound, I can agree on that, for the prices, well they were like pretty high but over all, I had a very great time there, not only for the bands but for the people too. Hope to see you there next year, I will be there too! cheers from Carinthia (southern Austria)
Thank you! I agree that the prices were a little bit high, but then again other bigger festivals are even more expensive than they were before corona virus. I think it’s still worth it if the line-up is good! See ya next year 🤘🤘🤘
I've played on Friday, my first time being at Area 53 and I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. Both, from audience as well as band point of view great organisation and awesome atmosphere. Also very friendly and helpful staff all around. Can only recommend and would love playing there again.
I would have loved to visit Area 53 this year. It really looks like a fun festival from all the reports I have seen so far. Hopefully next year it will work out. Cool festival report🤘🎸 greetings from Lotasticland
I was at Area53 for 5 years. And it's amazing, because I like small(er) festivals, the crew is doing jobs on volunteer base, bands/lineup are very good and the atmosphere is great! Btw. you were not the only non-german speaking guy. I've meet people e.g. from Canada and Australia (he came because of ONE band - not for an Headliner ^^)
Thanks! That’s great to know. I think as the festival expands it will attract even more international fans, I just hope it doesn’t get *too* big! Like you, I think it’s a good sized festival.
Great video, however the prices especially for food are (compared to other festivals in austria) really fair. I mean at NovaRock 2023 i paid 9€ for a hotdog...
Joe, your videos are badass!!!!! Keep up the crushing content, thanks brotha!
Thanks big brada!
As a local from Leoben I really enjoyed meeting people from other countries there. I'll invite you for a beer if I see you next year! Keep it going :)
Thank you! See you over a Gösser next time 🍻
