Extremely good lesson in less than 15 minutes. No wasted words, attempts at comedy and then apologies when it's not funny. Just a great lesson. Thank you.
Just great. I don't play drums, but I like programming them for my recordings, especially in 1965-68 Ringo style. This lesson is pure genius. Thank you very much indeed!
Uhm one of all the greatest ; A day in the life it’s just imposible no matter how simple it might seem, for the greatest drummers nowadays ,Rain is also great .
Very interesting and informative. I've always loved this song, and not being a drummer myself, never tried to break it down like this. All these years, I thought Ringo was just thumpin' them pagan skins. You've done a great job explaining this one. Thanks, and keep it up.
Hey Rob, very informative tutorial - you're such a gifted and generous teacher. I could of used this before I did my cover, now I'll go back and check my my cover to see how poorly I covered Ringo's fills :D Perhaps I cover it again. Keep drumming my friend and thanks for sharing.
You did a great job on your cover, my friend. It's so hard to hear what Ringo plays that anyone could be forgiven for not playing it 'exactly' right. What's more important is the feel and attitude to the song, not necessarily the correct drums in the correct order...although it certainly helps. That's my humble opinion anyway :) Thanks so much for your ongoing support!
hey rob were the beatles english,,,,haa great job man,,im a drummer and professional ass,,you broke it down maybe now i can play it thankx so much,,,be cheeky
Very well done! Just one remark. Ringo played the accent notes with his left hand and the ghost notes with his right hand. So it should be LrrLrrLrr. But that's just a detail. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Hi Rob, I'm enjoying watching your drum videos. Can you please do a tutorial of Ringo's playing on Happiness Is A Warm Gun and She Came In Through The Ballroom. Thanks.
He wasn't in most of their songs but he COULD be if he wanted too, such as with this great song...it's just one long drum fill from start to finish! :D

Any tips on getting my ghost notes quiter? I try to hit my snare so lightly but it either makes a fairly loud sound or I get a dull sound as I go for the edge of the drum to get the quieter sound. everything about this beat and style is exactly how I want to play, everything about it technically is the opposite of intuitive for me...really having trouble feeling how those ghost notes fit..and can't get the sound your getting with what the sheet says.. and how your playing. If you can clarify or lmk any tips on getting that swing sound please do...I do feel the swing coming from that accent pattern but when I combine it all together it just doesn't sound right..anyways Thanks and great lesson!
GOOD ! Everytime i read someone say "he played a left handed drum kit I wanna choke them, The CORRECT description is : A kit SET UP for a right handed drummer.
I have read from a couple of sources that Ringo used a shaker in this song. I think that some of the quieter sounds you hear in the fills are the shaker and not the snare drum. It’s more obvious when you listen to th-cam.com/video/qfFWfrde630/w-d-xo.html.
Felling slightly bad for underestimating what Ringo puts into his drumming. I'm not a Beatles fan so haven't listened to much, just heard he wasn't too... complex :P
Ringo only had a four-piece kit - he only had a snare, one tom-tom, one floor tom and one bass drum. Ergo, that middle tom stroke should actually be a high tom stroke.
Harrison Myers For the last 3 Beatles albums (The White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road) Ringo played a Ludwig Hollywood with 2 mounted toms. You can see him playing the kit on The Beatles rooftop gig.
I’m not a drummer, but this lesson helps me appreciate How Great a Ringo was!....Thanks

This guy is an excellent teacher. A+
Excellent. Meticulous. Well done.
Crazy good video. This is Ringo's best song with the Beatles. so much dynamism and swing. Everyone says rain but the fills are straight and common.
Good points and thanks for your support!

You sir have taught me my favorite drum grooves but could you show more triplet fills? They're the best
Very good lesson . Thank you .

Hi Rob,
I'm enjoying watching your drum videos.
Can you please do a tutorial of Ringo's playing on Happiness Is A Warm Gun and She Came In Through The Ballroom. Thanks.
Cool suggestion, mate!

Fascinating.
Well done young man !

Ringo didn't lead with his right hand because he is left handed. He has said he had to adapt since the drums are set up for right-handed players.
NM after 3 mins into your video. :-)

How about posting the entire song as an mp3 or midi file, so we can play guitar and bass over it?
OH could you do rock brigade's drum fill its by def leppard (Rick Allen on drums) please
Rob, do you know what the attachment is called where you can add multiple cymbals to one stand, please?:)
I think you mean a "cymbal stacker"?
I'm sure you've mentioned this before, but what model of the Yamaha DTX is that?

Where is this guy from? Accent?
This guy is from England. British.

Aw man I'm left handed is there a left handed version?
You simply reverse the sticking.
www.DrumsTheWord.com Oh yeah 😅 I need to buy some brain cells. Thanks for the lesson
@@johncolton4787 no problem! :D
It would be helpful to have the music infused between your tutorials.
That's not possible due to copyright reasons, Michael. Sorry about that.

Anything cause I'm sure you'd know better than me!
Ahhhh the beatles classic scousers
Are you like 15? You're very good.
No...haha! I was 33 at the time. Thanks.
Medium Tom? Ringo didn’t have a medium Tom!
are you the nicest man in the world?
Oh dear... it says "Intermediate" :( Wanna kill myself now :(
I think you look like Sir John Lennon.
Totally fake. No real drummer can read music.
Eh?
