The film stars Shetty as a Kambala champion, often at loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer Murali (Kishore). Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda feature in supporting roles.
Set and filmed in Keraadi in coastal Karnataka, principal photography began in August 2021.[4] The cinematography was handled by Arvind S. Kashyap, with B. Ajaneesh Loknath scoring music for the film and the action sequences were choreographed by the two time National Award winner Vikram More. The production design was handled by debutant Dharani Gange Putra.

Very Good Job on getting Audience Response. I see one of the kid mentioning Varaha Avtar as DemiGod, actually it's not. It's 3rd Avatara of Lord Vishnu. Since you were asking the audience about the background of this movie and if you and the audience are interested here's the story; This Movie is about Devine spirit of Kalurti Panjuri & Guliga. Kalurti Panjuri & Guliga are Devine Spirit that are derived from Lord Shiva & Lord Vishnu. If you are interested here's the brief background on it;
These Rituals that are shown in the movie are still being conducted in Karnataka, especially in Mangalore (Tulunadu) area which is my Native Place, I have seen it personally. The procession/Act is extremely intense, not for the faint of heart. The deity is Kalurti Panjuri which is a Devine spirit of Wild Boar, considered as one of the Avatar of Lord Vishnu, but there is a alternate story to it leading to Lord Shiva and the story goes, Mata Parvati had a Pet Wild Boar which she loved immensely and as you might know the notorious nature of Wild Boar, it disrupts anything that comes in its path especially Farm & Garden. Due to it's nature It does disrupts the garden of Kailasha, Which Lord Shiva gets really upset and he Kills the Wild Boar in Anger. Mata Parvati gets really Heart Broken and gets very sad when she learns about it. To pacify Mata Parvati, Lord Shiva then Resurrects the Wild Boar and Cast the Devine Spirit of Wild Boar to Earth with a purpose to Protect the Villagers/People in need and steer them from evil to good. There are numerous incident that can be described about the presence of this Devine Spirit. The Person Who is the vessel for this Devine Hevenly spirit gets immense Power and you can see some Supernatural Act during the Procession which can't be described. One thing I noticed in the movie during the Song subtitle they mention the Spirit as Demon which is wrong translation. Actually the Original Word in Kannada is "Butha" which in literal sense may translate to Spirit or Ghost, but Infact actually it's Devine Spirit which is the correct translation. At the end of the Movie Rishab Shetty is possed by the Spirit of Guliga, who is the swift deliverer of justice and a Some Background on Guliga is that its one of the Oldest Daiva of Tulunadu and Guliga Daiva is considered to be one among Shivagana, You can see the Statue of Guliga guarding the Temple of Gods, such as Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu or Mata Shakti in various forms. There is a big story behind it. It's considered that Guliga has immense Hunger hence you see in movie village people offer Rishab a whole Rice Sack when the Devine spirit posses him and he immediately starts consuming it. It is said that it nearly emptied the entire Vaikunta ocean to pacify it's hunger and lord Vishnu had to put his little baby finger in it's mouth to control his immense hunger. It's extremely intense in real Procession, we have seen it consumes the entire Raw live chicken and it devours it completely and some time it starts running wildly towards Dense forest and people try to prevent it and it takes around 15 to 20 Strong people to restrain with full force and still it sometimes escapes, and people keep on chasing it. For people who are unjust Guliga delivers swift justice and that's what you saw in the last 20 minute intense action of the movie. Panjurali and Guliga are considered Siblings, actually there is a story behind it. It is said that Panjurali and Guliga faced each other and had intense battle. Mata Jala Durga Consoles them and advises them to live like siblings and they follow her order. Hence in many places they are worshipped together. In the beginning of the movie the Vessel that hosts Panjurali's heavenly spirit (Shiva's Dad) says to the smart ass City guy who tries to insult it that It will leave the village and it disappears as advice in the Jungle, but while leaving it says that Guliga is not going to be that kind to him and then we see that smart ass guy lying on the Court stairs on pool of Blood. Also at the end of the movie we see the Shiva who is supposed to be possessed by Guliga at that time hears the sound of an anklet which is supposed to be from Kalurti Panjuri and he runs towards the dense mystic jungle (Kantara) and reaches the same spot where his father disappeared who at that time was possessed by Devine spirit of Kalurti Panjuri and they both start dancing in joy and disappear. They do exactly as JalaDurga advises them to do, Live like sibling in joy and that is what is depicted and how i see it.

Respected Viewers the varaha roopa mentioned or showed in the movie is not the mythological Avathar of lord Vishnu. This is a "Dhaiva varaha moorthi" which means a Ganamani of Lord Shiva which is named after "Panjurli" in Tulu language.

Being from Karnataka maine isko pehle din hi Kannada mein dekhatha, phirse dekhna chaahungi Kannada mein hi !! kyunki yeh hamare Karnataka k Mangalore side k tradition based hai, (inka maanna hotha hai , panjurli ek shaanth swabhaav k bhagwaan hain aur woh gharon mein sukh, shaanti aur samruddhi laathe hain, aur gulika bhagwaan bade gusse vaale hain weh wan ki raksha karte hain) iss movie ko Kannada bhaasha mein dekhne ka alag hi maza hai , magar Hindi mein bhi dekhna chahungi.. Kayi baar music aur story line ki vajha se audience mein thoda tension hone ki samnhaavna thi, magar beech beech mein comic relief dekar iss movie ko aur oopar legaye hain !! Loved it!!

"Varaha roopam" means Boar like shape. It is saying about Swami Panjurli who had boar like head and body like human. It has nothing to related to do with avatar of Vishnu. I know they depicted subtitle "4th incarnation of Lord Vishnu" which is definately wrong.

Dear friends here the demigods shown in the movie is panjurli( panji means wild board+ kurli means boarlets and guliga (kshetrapal)Both are demi gods ,they are soldiers or ganaas of lord shiva and Ma durga , lord shiva sent them to buloka ( earth) to prevail and uplift dharma.
Even now we mangaloreans worship in same manner our ancestors did, every tulu speaking house has temple of daivas.
Every temple of lord shiva and ma durga in mangalore or dakshin kannada you will see daivas ( buthas) place worship
Daivas are the bridge between human and god
Performer of daivas are from tribal community but when he is performimg even zamindar or priest bow thier head and pray to the performer
Daivas are the estabisher of dharma and equality in our society soo there is less racism or untoucheability in the society
Even many quarrels or legal cases rwsolved in front of daivas
Those who go against dharma are punished by these daivas even now,,there are hundreds of examples.
Kolas are annual rituals organised in every paet of mangalore and udupi district of karnataka
The problem is Kanthara is deeply rooted to Kundapura culture. To get the essence of the story, you truly have to be a local. The climax is just high point. However, the entire movie can mainly be appreciated truly if you feel and live the Kundapura culture. That's why Rishab never had any thoughts of making this a pan indian movie to begin with.
