- Sir Keir Starmer has warned the Budget on October 30 “will be painful” as he appeared to pave the way for tax rises.
Delivering a speech in the No 10 Rose Garden this morning, Sir Keir said: “There is a Budget coming in October and it is going to be painful. We have no other choice given the situation we are in.”

There is no support for people on benefits who will have to choose between eating and heating this winter. The Tories were bad but even they recognised that the poorest needed financial help to make it through the winter.
They aren't taking money from the poorest though. They are simply making the fuel allowance means tested so the poorest will still get it.

Speaking from the Rose Garden at No 10, Starmer said wealth creation (read wealth destruction) and economic growth (read even more debt creation) were the major priorities. Obviously he was wearing his rose tinted glasses when he was making the speech

The £22 billion black hole is less than 2% of government spending. So maybe not as significant as the man tries to make out.

The questions asked were stage managed? What is the cost of asylum seekers?How much a day, a year, per head? Do these figures include services eg NHS. How many, how many have come over in boats from France? How many for quick claims and how many y estimated %. How will they live what will they do for money - go on the dole? Where will the failed ones go and who pays? These are the questions people protesting require (there is always going to an element of thugs). Answer those questions will stop the unrest. Is it correct to state that under the EU HR we cannot send the 'boat' people back. No returns just as in any other EU country. Rhawda was a work around - which may well have worked - because some asylum seekers (majority illegal economic migrants) moved to Ireland. Ireland is part of the EU - its an EU problem? Do not return policy means we pick up the bill. What is that bill and what is predicted o er the next 3- 5 years ?
