The Soviet Union wasn't atheist. Russians are Eastern Orthodox and have been for a long time. Some were Jewish or Protestant. I doubt many cared what the government leaders said was "official." This is true for any other so-called "communist" nation. (The Soviet Union wasn't really communist, there was no "workers paradise", far from it, and there was a whole hierarchy of leaders. Stalin and friends were far more fascist than communist. Vlad Putin today is a fascist. North Korea is a monarchy, not communist and not a Republic.)

Time is a dimension in space. There are at least 9 such dimensions, so its possible something exists in those dimensions that we can't discern. But if that is god, (and we've no reason to believe it), in whatever dimension it exists, it still needs what this wooden top calls "a beginning".
