In his interview he said that he felt pain in his back so he slowed. Usain was never hundred percent on all his track career this is one of the contribution factor for early retirement and missing out on training. Plus he is lazy; his words.

Oh crap totally forgot this happened. Remembered the women's 100m sweep after this one. Seeing as Shelly-Ann was apart of both trios. Though 12 years apart. Wonder what ever became of Weir? Was expecting big things from him.
No, it is time we Jamaicans give an intelligent answer to why we run so fast. We have an excellent track programme that starts at basic school level , that's 3-6 year olds. We follow that up through the primary and high school system. Champs is like our olympics, 30k packed into our stadium every year for the greatest track and field rivalry in the world. Great coaches who are trained in one of the finest tertiary level sports institutions called GC Foster. World class programmes after high school with coaches such as the legendary Stephen Francis. Jamaica made a conscious and intentional decision to develop our track and field programme beyond the secondary school level about 20 years ago. Beijing was the first demonstration of the result if that. Formerly our athletes would go to American Universities where many of them got burnt out on the collegiate circuit. I remember in the early 1990s one of our finest sport administrator Teddy McCook told me that when our athletes go abroad they run slower. We fixed that. Been keeping our athletes at home. Brilliant decision. Brilliant results

That's right.
Lost out on the Olympic Record and maybe even his own WR by slowing down before the line. A slight shame about what could have been.

Clean sweep.Jamaica is bless.❤
Where is Warren Weir? I haven't seen him performing after this game. He is no where to be found.
I think he lives in Florida now based on what I see on his TH-cam channel...
Those was the days 9yrs n I still cracking up n feel good wow we Tallawah
Wow the best athlete ever
I only wish Blake had not tried so hard and waited for his term of dominance to come, and if he has did that he would be on top now!
