The two models that I really want from 2016 so far are "Cool One" (The Super Mario version) and the Nissan Fairlady Z (The one with the Need For Speed logo on the card).
I love when Hot Wheels does something related to videogames for the mainline :D
Hi Mr Grooves, I'm very excited to see the new 2016 cars, some of them really look fantastic. I think it's great to have all the infos on the front of the card, also because since 2013 the short cards only showed the segment but not the series, if I'm not mistaken 2012 was the last year we saw detailed infos about the series (e.g. Batman 5/5). Thanks for sharing and I wish you and all collectors a great new year of collecting. After all, the A case code represents a sort of New Year's Day in the Hot Wheels world. :)

Winning Formula actually had his first edition in 2015 case D in Blue Hot Wheels racing team colors. I recall seeing in your unboxing vid and wanted it. It's a very cool casting reminds me of "el Rey Special". Older casting. You know it. I found Winning Formula in loose form this year, but in near mint, so very happy. I'll be looking for that red version as well. Shame about Sting Rod II. The best version I have is a black and gold 5 pack version with moving guns. Almost look like a premium model. Also have the Austin Mi ni van, Superbee, Mad Splash, Pontiac Trans Am, Hi-Roller, Mercury Cougar, and the track destroying Invader. LOL!

I presume the '77 Pontiac Firebird has a plastic chassis (for the first time on that casting, although it was never a mainline before).
I guess that'll be the closest we get to the classic Hot Bird casting as a mainline from now on. (The last appearance of the all-metal Hot Bird as a mainline was 2010 if I remember correctly. Although, just to be nitpicky, there have been at least three slightly different castings all called "Hot Bird", two with minor differences with the hood scoop and the third having an opening hood, and I don't think we've seen the original version of the casting since the early 1990s. I think the opening hood version of the Hot Bird was only ever in premium lines, though.)
I'm loving that 96 Nissan 180sx plus its 2 per case!!

Hi racegrooves, I recommend you use the 65' mustang 2+2 fastback and the Ford Mustang Gt concept for Track Time.
just an FYI, the Chevy LUV you got is an early variation/error. The wheels on the back are supposed to be large, but on early cases they are small, as seen on your examples.

Just noticed the Hot Wheels website is now using the term mini-collection instead of series and I guess they've abandoned the segments? No big deal-I like more info on the front too.
+Dan M Yeah, Every year or two, the new batch of marketing employees have to come in and 'make things new'. I focus on the cars anyway, not the segments =)

I just got back into hotwheels on Saturday I have the super speed blastaway I saw that set in toysrus and I got it with James Bond cars and LA fasta this set got me back into these amazing models/toys

im a collector from sweden, you have really good video of unboxing hot wheels, but i still miss some page where i can find pic of each car who is coming in the boxes, a page where i could save pic down to my computer so i can mark them when i find the cars, so i can look at them without to start a video up all time, and so i can update my list, so i know what i can ask for from my friends in usa . because here in sweden it takes long time before we get this boxes, and sometimes we not even get all codes, bcs, stores around here buy to much of same code (A), and before they buy a new parties, they miss some in between so next one can be maybe (C) or (D). please when you do a video like this, take pic of each car model in the box and put up to a page and give me the link of this. best regards. mags.
