I tour managed Julie for many years and drove her around the U.K (and especially Ireland) and also organised bookings for her. I'd booked Julie into a venue in Surrey and was about to travel over from my home in Ireland to the gig when I heard the dreadful news of her passing. I was devastated -I'd thought she would go on forever.... She was a wonderful person, and I miss her terribly.

Such a beautiful personality. She was extremely pretty in the 1960's and obviously took care of her health well into her 80's.
Her guitar playing and clear voice singing were definitely gifts.

Julie's version of "Dirty old town" is just the best, and her album "Clothos Web" is my favourite. Her songs pop into my head all the time and have done since the sixties. Cheers

Dylan Thomas's 'And Death Shall Have No Dominion' always comes to mind for me when someone like this wonderful person dies. They still carry on in reality, through their family, their recordings, the feelings they have left within others as they remember the joy they have brought. Her spirit lives on.

Cool....I want to see if I can find a video of her playing with John Paul Jones. She hosted a show with Jimmy Page playing way back in 1970. Interesting history she had. Leonard Cohen a great Canadian ...meeting him in Greece....with other artists and poets....could only happen in the 60's. How times have changed....and maybe not for the better.

This goes without saying and that is we are all pretty at one time. I'm 81 but when I was 18 and 19 I wasn't a bad looking fellow. I had a couple of loves that could have been the love of my life but there's always one that stands out. That one is who we think of in our old age!
