I’m a little late to the party, but doing some thinking about my project coming up. Looks really nice. Great work. I didn’t consider the tracks….I am now. Thanks for sharing.
Great set up Crusty!! So good to see all the additions and embelishments you have added. My cousin - Marine - my father Army vet vietnam - my sons freinds Army and Marine - Keepin the flame lit! Thank you for your service and thank you for defending our nation. I reload plenty and enjoy everyone that is in the same mind set as myself. God Bless
Hey there Crayon eater, thanks for the content. I'm starting to get into reloading, mostly for hobby reasons, just something to do when I have time off. I like your setup and may try to emulate it. Thanks for your service bro.
Great video and im glad you explained what the meaning behind the flags you have up because i was curious to what they meant. Thanks for your service and you have gained a new subscriber.
Nice setup !!! Good idea with the track system. We moved almost 2 years ago. Just now getting around to setting up my stuff. Bench placement location is critical - for nice work flow & ease of operations.
Love it!! I have my own flags several same as you. I'm a retired squid and just as crusty as yourself.... LOL. I also represent the House of Gordon here in Colorado for the games, Go Scotland. I like your reloading room. I have a nice little set up myself ;)
AWESOME! Thanks for the comment and THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE! Clan Gordon... I can like you then, since my Scot comes via marriage it makes me Clan Donald/McDonald and in their prayer they ask for "guns, knives and, swords, enough to kill all the Campbells and Dalrymples"....lol
Thanks! I can MAYBE see casting for pistol rounds (my buddy already does) but, for my rifle stuff, I'm sure I'll stick with high end, high B.C. bullets from Nosler, Sierra & Berger
My gun room needs an overhaul. Mine looked this good once. I started reloading shotgun shells with hand held press that used a hammer and a punch to deprime. That was in 1968. Now….Dillon 550 and a 1050. Reloading ammo is a great was to channel the natural DIY engineering skills possesses by all real Americans. Welcome to the community.
You can get a window fan to put in to suck the hot air out. At one point they were about $30 I don't know what they cost now. I use one in my armory when I'm melting lead.
Hey Crusty, I noticed your bench sets on carpet. Do you have it bolted to the wall? Has it shifted / settled into the carpet since it was built? I've been struggling with the thought that the bench would have some settling and would have to be shimmed to bring it back to level. So, because of that "potential issue, I have not yet built mine. But you setup looks promising.
Not bolted to the wall and no real settling. It's a very low pile carpet and the bench weighs a ton...lol. I like it so wellI (& neede more room) I built a 2nd one just like it. Thanks for watching !!
It's an inch and 3/4 thick LVL Beam (plywood) I got several of those at no cost a couple of years back. You could probably visit your local Truss Company and get some leftovers and/or purchase. Thanks for watching!!
I do have a question. Did you replace the door with something heavy duty and maybe add a deadbolt? Also do you have a set of actual freedom stick screwdriver bits (i.e. Wheeler)? Do not use the Craftsman screwdrivers on your Freedom Sticks.
Also yes, I have proper screw driver's and other tools for Freedom Sticks. There's alot of other items and work goes on in there too though. Thanks for watching!!
Impressed. I'm making mine out of scrap lumber. If it works, it cost me nothing but screws. I'm looking to do some hillbilly engineering to improve my design.
Not really, as long as I don't care if it gets a little messed up...lol Carpet is 25 years old, not a ton of previous traffic but, not a problem if it gets messed up. Once it does, I'll rip it our and put down hardwood. If you have carpet and want it to stay nice, might be a bit of an issue
You mean like a blueprint?? Only in my head...lol I used to do construction. I'd be happy to give you the dimensions, materials used and how assembled and why if you like.
Front T Track edge is flush with edge of bench. Rear one is 8" O.C. I did not route the groove. Measured the rear piece of top to requirements, screwed down rear t track. Set front one in place, checked measurement/spacing (was correct) screwed it into place then ripped middle plywood piece to fit.
@@CrustyOldMarine so I am using a 1.5” butcher top for my bench- I was worried that the front t track would not be braced enough-never used t track before and was wondering if there was a slight space-is the t track pretty much flush? Like it wouldn’t catch on stuff like clothing or such?
Just for safety, I suggest you keep a fire extinguisher in there and store powder and primers in a safe place outside the house except for what you’re using at the time.
Well done! Thanks for sharing your layout!
Thanks!
Hell yeah nice set up and welcome to the reloading rabbit hole!
Thanks!

Bench placement location is critical - for nice work flow & ease of operations.
For me, space is as critical as flow, as mine may be a little unconventional. Probably why I recently added another bench...lol Thanks for watching!

Mine's a little messier now...lol Getting ready to expand so I can be more organized once again.
I’d love to have this much room!!
Yeah I'm pretty fortunate in that regard but, still not quite enough...lol. Going to do another video on the "expansion" Thanks for watching!

How close to edge os the front t-track? Did you just route edges? Is there a little gap in front or is it just the t track by itself-thanks

Smh.
Down with wokeness.
Meaning you don’t like it or that you’re down with it? 😂
No pronouns allowed in the room? 😂
HaHa.... Any are allowed but, some folks might not like the ones I use 😂
Nope. None. First names only, in any context, lol.
