Agree with Paolo. Had the same feeling when I entered UP Diliman. I graduated from an average private highschool. Surprisingly, I got in to one of the hardest degrees in UP-Diliman which is Chemical Engineering. Imagine 70% of my batch came from different science highschools especially Pisay across PH. Also, you have 5 batchmates from Chem Eng who belong to the Top 10 passers of UPCAT, mga oblation scholars. Imagine the pressure not only within my school environment but also the expectations from your family to perform well.
One thing I learned throughout the process is to always better yourself and never ever compare yourself to other people. Your biggest competition is yourself. Trust the whole process because when luck meets the proper opportunity that you've been working on for years, that will definitely be a breakthrough in your life.
As for me, I followed my passion. I didnt practice my degree. Instead I pushed my passion in business, entrepreneurship, and investing.

Nung college ako around 2013 or '14 sa UP, nagka-cram ako magreview for an exam sa UP MainLib. Wala akong kasama sa table. Tapos lumapit si Paolo and ask kung pwede siya makiupo. Nung time na yun ayoko sana siya makiupo pero tumango lang ako. Sobrang daming negative energy ko non kasi stressed na ako sa subject tapos nawala ako sa momentum ng pag-aaral kasi nakiupo siya sa table. Hindi ko siya tinitingnan or pinapansin tapos galit pa yung mukha ko. Umalis siya after a 5 minutes or so kasi sure akong na-feel niya ang negative energy ko. Sorry, Pao. Hahahahahaha I hope you're doing well! Nakakahiya tuloy--ang sweet kasi ng ngiti niya nun tapos parang binitchesahan ko siya.

I'm in the middle of breaking down pero yung Tiktok FYP ko sunod sunod yung Pangpang content hanggang sa na-encounter ko yung recommendation na panuorin 'to. Hindi ako nagsising nagstop muna sa lahat ng mga ginagawa ko para panuorin 'to. Yung buong episode is a breath of fresh air for me. Napaiyak na lang ako sa lahat ng sinabi nila Pao and Ian kasi gusto ko na lang sumuko talaga pero I really have reasons to go on. Ang dami kasing tao na doon lang sa successes mo. Pero yung ganitong panahon na down ka na nahihirapan ka, wala naman sila. Thank you for this! Never akong magsisising ini-stan ko kayo Pao and Ian. And to this podcast, sana mas maggrow pa ang supporters niyo. Kudos!
Sobrang Competetive ng generation ngayon and hindi mo (or at least ako) maiiwasang hindi ma-overwhelm and ma-pressure minsan sa life. kaya I'm so happy na merong relatable discussions na available online gaya nito. I love how they shed light on the struggles of being an adult and how hard it is to choose between going after your dreams or setting your priorities straight like making ends meet for the family. Struggles of making your name sa congested (and again, very competitive) creative field. tapos andyan ung self-awareness about social and political issues and how important it is to get involved. Sa lahat ng pressure by being not the best, being insecure, and self-doubts, I'm soo grateful lang na at a very young age I'm privileged to do what I love to do and be one of the lucky ones.

One of the best advice that I can quote from Paolo is "when you get less motivated, make it your discipline" (non-verbatim). Definitely, everyday tina try ko talaga i-apply to and kahit kaunti I'm trying to acknowledge my progress. Always thanking Pao.
And from Ian, I always respect his love for his craft and how he always encourage to study and just do it kasi it will eventually pay off. This guy is willing to learn everything and be best at everything for any opportunities that may come. Sobrang inspiring and syempre nakakainlove talaga to see someone so passionate sksksks hahaha.
