one of the climbers was the guy who did Free Solo (Alex Honnold) alongside two other legends of the sport (Lynn Hill and Tommy Caldwell) - see www.google.com/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/yosemite/
12:51 Dacorum is the north west region of Hertfordshire. The roundabout is known locally as the Magic Roundabout (Not to be confused for the one in Swindon) and is in the town of Hemel Hempsted which is near both St Albans and Watford, all of which are north west of London between the M1 and M25. It can be a little a little nerve racking when going through it but it's really cool.
Georgia mentioned!!!! the building in Tbilisi is the office of Georgian bank. By the way, funny thing about that building is that it's illegal to take pictures of it
@@oldo2840 It used to be unblurred but at some point they went through and blurred all the faces in official street view and I guess nobody realized this was special coverage. There are posed shots of him resting at the top of it with his face blurred lol
That is indeed the stig from top gear. Not sure when they blurred it because I’ve looked at that coverage before and he was there. Don’t know they context behind it
To be precise, it is probably just someone in a Stig gear. I guess it was a kind of a fad for a time to dress as Stig for the Street View camera, I remember several different cases - presumably none of them were Ben Collins in person :)
16:30 San Fracisco has famously numbered piers, and of all of them "Pier 39" is the biggest one for tourists, sort of like Santa Monica Pier in L.A., but without the rides. It's a little hard to get to "Pier 39" from "R39MAZE" but not impossible, since I can't think of any other memorable use of the number 39.
my favorite street view locations are when people troll us with photo spheres like someone who put cartoon people peeking around the corners of his garden in Clifton, NJ. it might have been taken down but I hope there's others, But I also do like seeing what weird things are really out in the world like the big pac man.
small suggestion! can you increase your mouse cursor/pointer size when recording these kind of videos. sometimes i can't tell what part of the screen you're referring to the cursor is very tiny. ❤
The Cabo Verde loc is quite interesting cuz I, as a Brazilian, didn’t think that was Portuguese cuz none of the words made sense, although the letters itself felt Portuguese
Not really. The ice hotel is in Jukkasjärvi (which you can barely read on the icebar sign), near Kiruna, and it's actually closer to Norway than Finland.
And it's actually considered good It looks scary at first glance (and especially when viewed from the top) but it's intuitive for the locals and people driving there
Suggestion for a challenge video w othe gg players - What if you did like a latitude hell game where you take locs from different countries with similar latitudes and therefore almost identical vegetation eg. olive plantation in southern Spain, olive plantation in southern Italy, olive plantation in eastern mainland Greece. And then the players have to differentiate the 3 or 4 locs from each other or possibly solve an odd one out scenario or something. Just an idea
hi oscar why dont u do some country streak only with photospheres? I do that with the drone map, its very difficult but full with beaitiful locations, saluti from Italy ciao

The mountain climber coverage is actually from official google trekker

@@Jashanox-geoguessr I recognized it from Star Trek V 😂😂
That mountain climber is Alex honnold they took it when he was training for his solo
16:35 biblically accurate fire hydrant
11:42 if you look above the location, it describes the place, in this case literally says, the last blockbuster

"i was reading like the architectural guide to russia and this kind of like roof feels very *hungarian* to me"
hopefully this doesnt age badly 💀
yeah i dont know what he meant by that lol
I think he meant the Russian architectural guide indicated that these roofs don’t look Russian (my initial guess) therefore must be Hungarian
r1 is official trekker on the face of El Capitan in Yosemite. that's Alex Honnold!
Instantly recognised him through the blur! Mad that it's official coverage!

Oscar this was so neat to watch and awesome can't wait to see more, These are so awesome and so neat love watching you man. This was a good one.
The 6 roundabouts are in Hemel Hempstead, which is a small town north of London. Dacorum is like the "region" it's in.
Interstellar came out in 2014, 10 years old hahaha
Mandela effect moment:
The 'Pacman' Building in South Korea is actually the Imsil Cheese Theme Park in the southwestern part of the country.
I never thought I would see Alex Honnold on google streetview. In a glimpse I figured that it was Yosemite
Bro got bored of regular geoguessr and switched to premium

4:19 pacman? i thought it was cheese 😂
It was. it's a cheese park.
@carlareis2360 oh did he say that? When, i didnt hear it.
@OldCinderellaStory He didn't! I think he doesn't know. But it is, it's called Imsil Cheese Theme Park.
you can see other "pieces of cheese" closeby

your videos are getting me through a really difficult breakup, thank you

8:00 That place in Groningen, so many questions... Intriguing 🕰️
10:20 It says the city name under "ICE BAR", but it's a sami town so unless you've heard it you would probably think it's Finland.
Ah bummer. I was hoping we'd get to see the muskie at the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, WI that's on the thumbnail.
I'm from WI, and saw that. Part if the reason i watched the video
The tiny church showed the floor size in ft. In Canada we use metric.
The housing industry in Canada still use sq ft for public-facing comms even though they need to use m² for government approvals
Yep that is the stig from top gear. Ive had that location before but the stig wasnt blurred so not sure why it is now
@3:56 also says something about 270 Ft on the sign - Forint is the hungarian currency.
De Uurwerker is a bar/café which was near my university in Groningen. Very nice to see it in a video!
Interstellar actually turned 10 today 🥳🎉
Interstellar is TEN years old now. Weird but true
About the Korea one: it's not a pacman, its a cheese park.
I love using that!
0:59 that is offical street view coverage in yosemite

the pac man building thing is actually a cheese themed theme park! safiya nygaard actually made a cool video on it pretty cool
If I remember correctly the road in mexico on r2 was covered in dense fog in earlier version of street view
Interesting how narrow the domain knowledge is. The first one if you know Yosemite that would definitely be your first guess.
I think we had the Georgian cool building in a similar video before (looking at interesting places on streetview)
everyone that sees this i hope you have a good day!!

I had a great day thank you. I hope you also are doing great.

hi
The two dots over a letter are called Diaeresis!
I think this depends on if its an umlaut or not, for instance Ö in german is an umlaut but Ö in swedish is a letter, but I might be wrong because I had never heard diaeresis before
Since it's Hungarian, it's neither o with Diaeresis nor o with Umlaut, as "ö" is treated as separate phoneme to "o" (pronounced /ø/).
