She lived for so long, being with her party for 10 years is as mundane as drinking coffee in the morning. When the hero dies she regrets the fact that she does not savor that relationship bettter. It is as if how we feel regret not savoring our coffee everyday once we could never drink it anymore.
I compared it to meeting some cool dudes at a party one evening - sure you like them and you get along with them, but they're not exactly life-long friends after just one party together. And then you come back a week later, and they're all gotten old.
I disagree with your last point. Not savoring my coffe never made me cry. Himmel was a sentient being that existed , your coffee is not. She’s crying because she doesn’t understand how such a short lived relationship (short in her eyes) could effect her so much. The show literally dates everything after himmels death by how many years it’s been since he died and that’s supposed to be from Frierens perspective. He was so important to her that she gauges her own existence now off of when he died . She was in love with him with him man, no two ways about it. She just didn’t realize it
@@mookiestewart3776 Exactly the same thing, she didn't make the most of the time she had with him. It was a metaphor, obviously a breakfast isn't as important as a person, duh

She was probably that way due to living a long life and closing her emotions helped, especially from seeing people pass away. Seeing her closest friends probably woke those emotions again.
will say i been watching alot of reactions to the series because im personally caught up with the manga and the anime , one part that annoys me is and not just the reactions i watched but alot of people in the fandom forget shes an elf when they talk about her emotions and understanding , gotta remember WE are looking at it through the humans eyes as well , avid readers of other works like tolkien or even games like dragon age dwell on it alot how their perception of emotion and time are drastically different , such as how they appear cold and numb but thats a genetic thing to allow them to cope with their long lives , example them getting traumatised would last centuries so their body naturally numbs things a bit , not entirely but takes alot to bring things out on average , similar to how we cant imagine how they see time , they cant grasp how humans do. also that 'getting to know him better' also has a personal view , she may not see knowing 10 years worth of someones life as much compared to how we would , to her think of it as 10 years of friendship = knowing someone for like half a day , by contrast of her view she might not think she knew alot even if she did , because there is less to know

as much as I want that to be true, in one of the later episodes frieren did say that elves don't feel romantic/sexual attraction and the elven species is slowly dying out due to it
She is not unfeeling or cold, its her training. She is the best at what she does, and what we see when we meet her is a product of a long long time training it. Her master really only taught her one thing, and she became the master at that.

Hearing how delicately Himmel speaks, then remembering his VA is BAKUGO is wild lol

let's rewatch. I would put this show on par with the apothecary diaries.
