Truely. When i saw Kiwior & Zini in the starting 11, i knew we would make Man Utd look great 😂. Seriously with 6 defenders out of the squad, its a great performance.
Not a single Arsenal supporter ever wanted Thos Partey to leave. Yep he’s got glass legs and comes with (cannot judge) baggage, but when fit and focused Partey is world class. He raises Arsenal another notch when he’s fit, firing and in the game.
Nice, sensible win - happy with that. We don’t know what manner of beast united are under Amorim yet - not enough scouting data - whereas they have all the scouting data on us, and are more than capable of executing a targeted play with the players they have (particularly with half our defence missing. Again!). We might have wanted a big win, but I can’t really fault the approach - stay cautious and see what we’re dealing with first. Above all else, we couldn’t afford to get sucker-punched - not with Liverpool so far ahead.
Loz my main take away from this game: United’s players are not suited for this system however the shape and setup shows promise. Honestly it was more damning on arsenal to have to play for corners after the first half. But 3 points is 3 points so fairs
United dominated the first 45 mins controlled the game dominated possession more passes arsenal was literally celebrating winning corners fouled goal running in pushing around defenders arsenal didn't have many clear open play chances just their absolutely fruity corner set pecises
Funny(not funny) thing is Arsenal wouldn't even be 7 pts behind if it wasn't for some red cards for some rules which was exclusively applied to them and now has been shelved??? No Quansah second yellow today ?? No second yellow for Szobozlai, no second yellow for anyone else delaying restarts......
I still plea for some assessment of some independent authority for the sake of the sports. How is the quality of refereeing including VAR compared with other countries. Are these 'inconsistencies' evenly distributed over the long-run. Do we have a problem with a structure where referees have more than one employer? I dont't want to ignore with what happend. We are no banana republic.
Havertz is peculiar, but I trust Arteta completely. Havertz can go deep to overload the midfield or the wings. He definitely helps to build when the game is really tight. He also provides good runs eventhough it mostly works out with Jorginho and he's no starter. He's also a good target man for long balls and crosses. So he provides some special skill set which Arteta seems to like.
That definitely wasnt an ease pass United for the most part besides the set piece from those corners United kept them quiet, but those corners are such a cheat code my word
Winning with just set pieces, without breaking a sweat is indeed easing past. They didn’t have to try hard in that second half. Trossard was just toying around after that second goal.
Did nothing ? Dude we had slightly more possession than Arsenal in the first half. Arsenal won not through open play, but because of lucky deflections off from corners.

The Arsenal set piece coach is Nicolas Jover. He was employed by Man City with Arteta, and when Arteta joined Arsenal, Jover went with him. Jover felt that Arteta supports and appreciates what he can do, unlike so many other managers who dismiss 'set piece coaching' as something to do after actual training, for players who want to take part. So, yes, Slot is in competition against Nicolas Jover - supported by the rest of the team to win him enough corners to score goals from. Just like Arne 'just get the ball to Salah' Slot has an obvious gameplan.
For a million years the blueprint against Arsenal was to make thigngs turgid and stagnant. United played a 5-4-1 from the first monute, interested only in clogging space, then hoofing it to Hojlund who has to wrestle with 2 CBs all game. In 22/23, the big narrative agaisnt Arsenal was that we only had one way of playing. Since then Arteta has repeatedly said he wants this team to be able to have multiple approaches so their is a path to victory no matter what the opponent is doing. United aimed to clog, but they are weak at defending set pieces. So we plaued for set pieces. And everyone is mad that you can't bully us anymore lol
I’d like to hear your thoughts on Chelsea this season. You say that Liverpool haven’t had many tough games but I think Chelsea at Anfield actually played well against you and could’ve got something from the game. They are also 2nd in the table and technically your closest rival
ManU is still finding its playing identity. The team is not yet close to where Arsenal is at the moment. So looks like a predictable result. Good 3 points..
The mighty Arsenal, and their fans that touch themselves for playing sexy football without winning anything, are bantering for beating a United side under a new manager, with three player getting minutes back after long injury, that controlled the first half. United had a good grip on the game in the first half, but without losing much threat. They’d enter the final third at will but bizarrely didn’t look to penetrate the box instead looking to shuffle the ball back to centre. Arsenal are good at those corners, they’re dangerous. Yes, on both of the goals Hojlund was fouled. The second goal Saliba clearly has a full shove, the first Timber has his forearm in the back. United subs didn’t really change the game at all. Arsenal will get their fourth place trophy again and the fans will rejoice, because that’s Arsenal.
